Lovely and relaxing. The kitchen is perfect, the room is comfortable. The neighbours' dogs barking ruined the quiet of the morning, but other than that, it was perfect.

Beautiful place, peaceful and safe.
The unit consists of two double bedrooms each with its own well-stocked kitchenette and bathroom. There is no communal space except for the stoep but why would you want to be anywhere else than the stoep with that beautiful view of the Boesmansrivier! The host Leon was helpful and welcoming.
We were very surprised at how beautiful and quiet, private and peaceful our stay was. Everything we like was there: nice view over the Boesmans River, privacy, silence, bird sounds from early morning until late at night, and of course stylish "cottages" that are well located, well built and stylishly furnished. A joy.
We had a great time and it was quiet and peaceful. Nice barbecue, the unit was spacious and everything needed was available.

We stayed too short. There is much in the area to experience. All the small authentic villages. Friendly, unpretentious, humble, best food, coffee, ice cream. Everyone has so much pride in what they offer.

Would recommend River Cottage to anyone. It was a lovely weekend and hospitality gets 100%.
Feel like you are on a boat just above the river. Great view. Close enough to all the sights, town and beaches. But just away from all the business and crowds to make it feel like a relaxing, recharging in nature stay. Well-equipped with everything you need to make it a great stay. Super clean. Will definitely be back again. Thank you Leon. It was great.

Beautiful view from rooms and deck and everything needed in the clean rooms. I am very satisfied and Leon the owner was friendly and helpful at all times. I hope sometime in the future Leon will replace the double beds with at least a queen. It will only make the experience even better.

Quality service and hospitality.
We really enjoyed the weekend. It was quiet and peaceful with beautiful scenery that spoiled us a lot. With the Ospreys and Hornbill birds that regularly made their visit it was truly breathtaking. The place to stay is very nice and safe. The footpath down to the unit is slightly uneven and may just need to be levelled. But otherwise we had a wonderful stay. The price was fair and very good value for money. Thank you very much River Cottage.
The money we paid was worth it. The host was friendly and helpful. The place is convenient for self-catering, with needed utilities and we felt safe.

Owner was very helpful. Rooms were self-catering, but there were so many additional things like coffee and milk and soaps that are never part of self-catering. I was very impressed and will definitely go back.

Leon and his wife are amazing hosts and always willing to give directions and advise of where to go and what there is to do. The cottage was immaculately clean and had everything we needed and more. We loved our stay and the river view provided endless entertainment. Just the peace and quiet we needed to escape from our busy lives. We can't wait to go back.

River Cottage is one of the most beautiful places to stay. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful view. Would definitely recommend the place. Very neat accommodation with everything you need, fantastic beds and linen. Friendly welcome from owner. Very difficult, sloping, uneven stone footpath which is dangerous for older people and very difficult to carry luggage. No mention is made of it in advertisement and it was difficult to get to the unit with elderly parents and luggage. Signposts from the main road would also be helpful, the place is hard to find.
