Relaxing, quiet environment. Well-kept and neat. Comfortable beds, however, the sleeper couch needs an upgrade. Nice to have a diner on the property. Good food available.

The resort had everything we needed. Just getting to the beach was a bit confusing, but once we knew, we managed and had a great time.
We had a wonderful stay, our chalet was neat and clean with everything we needed. Hosts and staff were friendly and helpful. Kids were disappointed that there was no trampoline as the booking site suggested, but forgot all about it once they discovered the games room! Great value for money when you take advantage of the late booking special.
It is peaceful with amazing vegetation and birds. The chalets are well furnished with everything you need. The resort is well maintained. It's nice and private at your chalet. The kitchen has been newly redone and is very nicely furnished.
Recommended all ages. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the valley is for you. Also the restaurant excellent services.

A shower curtain is required. The lace curtain does not work. The bathroom floor flooded after a shower.

Pool needed attention.
River Valley Resort is a beautiful resort and ideal for a wonderful holiday. Here you can relax wonderfully. The pitches are beautiful and the resort is very well maintained. We enjoyed the owls and also the lovely shaded stand. We will definitely visit again.

The refrigerators did not freeze. Need some renovation here and there, but we love the place.
I was very unsatisfied, because in the quote there was no R500 cash deposit mentioned for breakage. It did seem a bit sceptical, then I only got refunded R400, pot wasn't cleaned properly. I was charged for the cleaning service of the pot. And when I complained the owner was very rude, and told me not to come back. Business doesn't work like that.
Love everything about it!
We enjoyed the area and the resort very much, it suited our need to entertain our young children, 9 and 3 and also ourselves. We will be booking another stay at the resort for the next Easter school holidays.
The owners should give more thought into making what to me is a beautiful resort, a more welcoming destiny. All it needs for this to happen is to spend about R100 to provide things like soap, dishcloths to dry the dishes with. I think towels is something they should also consider providing. Had I not phoned from Cape Town to find out if towels were provided, we would have had to go and buy some. The cleanliness of the place is left to the guest and not once did the manager or owner came to see if we were okay with the place. All in all, not some place I would use again.
A bit annoyed on arrival as the place stank of cigarette smoke for first 2 days, even though there is a no smoking sign on the door. But besides that, we loved our stay and will be back! Management is friendly. Place is amazing!

River Valley Resort is just big enough to ensure privacy. We really enjoyed the location of the chalet. If you want to try to relax by avoiding masses of people, it's just the place to be! Children also enjoyed the playground and swimming pool. It's super safe and we could let the kids play with without having permanent supervision.
The resort is beautiful, the scenery there, the playground for children. It's a perfect place to relax. We had no worries about our little boy's safety, he could play for hours without our supervision. Service from the office was friendly and excellent. The accommodation was clean and tidy, even the shower and utensils! We will definitely recommend the resort to other people. No complaints.
Very friendly reception from Sarie. The place has everything you need, but would appreciate an aircon. The beds are incredibly hard and uncomfortable. Staff are very friendly and the resort is neat and clean. Really enjoyed the tranquility.
