The cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The main bedroom contains a queen-size bed, and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, a toilet and a washbasin. This room leads out, through a glass sliding door, onto the lovely front-facing patio – relax in bed and enjoy the river views. The second bedroom is an upstairs loft bedroom and contains 2 single beds. This room is only accessible by a steep wooden staircase and has a nifty skylight with views of the river. Guests do need to be able to climb stairs to sleep in the loft bedroom. The guest bathroom downstairs is fitted with a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. Bedding and bath towels are provided - just bring your own beach towels and toiletries please.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and contains a glass top stove, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and cutlery and crockery. There is also a breakfast bar with stools. A portable gas bottle with cooker top is available for emergencies. The lounge has a comfy lounge suite, a dining room table for 4 guests, an indoor fireplace for cosy winter time and a flat-screen TV with DSTV. Free Wi-Fi is provided.

15 guests' feedbackWitsand was a lovely break away. The cottage was clean and had a great fireplace, which was perfect for the rainy weather we had. The host was so helpful and an excellent hostess. We really enjoyed the large selection of crafts and delicious rosterkoek at the local market.
Only negative point was: The outdoor umbrella was broken - would be great if it could be replaced or repaired.
Would love to come again.

River View Cottage at the Breede is excellently located. The cottage is very nicely furnished with everything and more that you need. Very neat and would definitely recommend it. Would not hesitate to book again in the future.
Malgas pontoon. We visited the pizza house there. Very good cook. The beach is nice in the estuary. We visited Swellendam.
Beautiful open beaches. If you love fishing this is the place to be. Aissa and Therese are very friendly and helpful, I just feel comfortable working with them.
Was lovely place to stay. Even had extra lights in case of loadshedding. Will use the place again if I come to Witsand.
Great walks and swims along the river and in the sea.
Thank you River Lodge Breede River, our stay was very nice, so thank you very much for the hospitality, we really appreciate it. And at least we didn't go on a mission for nothing, the Lord blessed us with a few fish. Even though the water was brown from all the nice rain. Witsand will always remain our fishing spot.
The owners' service was extremely good. The unit was very clean and everything we needed was there. A bonus was the dishwasher, private braai area and being able to watch the Springboks' game on the full DStv package. Unfortunately, Cell C has no reception, but the unit's Wi-Fi ensured we could stay in touch. The unit did smell very musty - according to the owner it was the recent rain and the fact that the roof is grass. We did drive to Witsand on a dirt road as we didn't know about the tarmac. Follow their directions and turn off onto the R322 before Heidelberg.
Great accommodation. Easy to book and pay. Agent was excellent and very helpful.
Comfortable and the house was equipped with the necessities. Didn't like the fact that the neighbor had a dog that pooed in front of my entrance to cottage. The shower is a bit slippery (ask the wife), noisy neighbors across the way. Other than the interruptions we had an awesome time. Will definitely be coming back.
The cottage is tastefully furnished and well equipped. It has its own braai area at the back and lovely porch at the front with a river view. The cottage is located on the point closest to the Breede River Lodge's entrance, therefore it is close to the entrance gate. It wasn't too much trouble and we would definitely stay here again.
Witsand shops stock is very expensive and variety is limited - so try to take most groceries with you. However, Nella's shop has cheap and delicious home-baked bread and treats such as fudge and coconut rice.
