Once an old shearing shed, the cottage has lots of charm yet features many modern comforts, and makes for an idyllic getaway for friends and family alike.
The cottage can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed and a shower en suite with a toilet and washbasin. The second bedroom contains a queen-size bed, and the third bedroom contains 2 single beds. These 2 rooms share a bathroom with a shower, a toilet and a washbasin.
The kitchen is fitted with a fridge-freezer, stove and oven, microwave, and cutlery and crockery. The dining area contains a 6-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge area contains seating and a fireplace.
Outside, there is a covered patio with an outdoor dining table and chairs, where you can relax and unwind. Enjoy a crackling fire under the stars in the sheltered outdoor braai area with a built-in braai and a firepit.

7 guests' feedbackMy stay at the cottage on Riverdene farm was wonderful! The cottage is large and spacious and has everything one needs for a comfortable stay. There are multiple scenic walks on the farm with beautiful views, and Nieu Bethesda is easily accessible from the farm. The hosts went out of their way to make me feel welcome.
Fantastic facilities, wonderful people on the farm, and breathtaking views as only the Karoo can offer, highly recommend Riverdene!
Kelly goes out of her way to accommodate. Would recommend adding 30 minutes extra to your planning to take a few stops on your journey. Some nice hiking trails and a lot to explore - more than 1 night is recommended.
Riverdene is a beautiful place, the lodge itself is decorated in a gorgeous minimalist style, suitable for the Karoo but with everything you need - including WiFi! The hosts are wonderful and friendly, and we would highly recommend it.
A proper Karoo farm experience, beautiful surroundings, peaceful and quiet. Perfect for a country getaway. Awesome hosts.
The wonder of Riverdene begins even before one arrives at the homestead. The farm road through the mountains offers some of the most beautiful views of the area. The cottage is spacious and comfortable, and one soon takes root on the veranda, thanks to the view it offers of the ridges in the distance. It was nice to walk to the pond and the river, which are very close to the unit. Another thing that was nice was to light a barbecue fire in the late afternoon and watch the sunset turn the Karoo in different shades. Many thanks to Dale and Kelly and little Andrew for your extraordinary hospitality.

Please be advised that the farm is accessed by gravel roads which aren't in the best condition. A high clearance or 4x4 vehicle is recommended.As this is a working farm we unfortunately can't allow any pets
