On a large grassy field next to the Knysna river, Tide Verge is a destination in itself, with beautiful surroundings, sunbathing, swimming, and canoeing on the door step. The house is approximately 30 m from the river's edge.
Riverside House is composed of 2 spaces, the first with a main bedroom with en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower and toilet, and the kitchen, dining room, lounge and living areas. The second space features 2 double bedrooms, 1 en suite, a bunk room and a bathroom with a shower, and a separate toilet.
Guests will be met at the main gate by Richard, the house manager, who will let you in, show you around the house and give you keys for entering and leaving.
There are a large range of restaurants in Knysna which is about a 15 minute drive away, the biggest concentration being at the Knysna Waterfront. There is no public transport available near the house, a car is essential, but it is possible to get into town relatively easily on bicycles. Shopping can be done at several well-stocked supermarkets in Knysna. There are a number of popular beaches within 20 to 40 minutes drive from the house, including Buffalo Bay, Brenton on Sea, Look-out and Robberg Beaches at Plettenberg Bay.
Note that the house has backup solar power and batteries in case of loadshedding.

Awesome stay, everything was easy from arrival to departure and everything in between. Great spot away from other houses for some quality time with your mates or family.

There was a really foul smell for some time when we arrived. It didn’t stay but smelt it for a minute or two the next day as well. Not sure if river or sewerage. TV not connected.

Riverside Home is a beautiful home with lovely views of the river. It is well-equipped and has ample cutlery, crockery, pots and pans to cater for a large family group like ours. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Canoes were a great bonus as we were able to explore the river from the house. The shower in the master bedroom could do with a scrub, as could the folding 'braai rooster' - especially given that one pays R1000 cleaning fee. I think the house would benefit from having a ceiling fan which could help with air circulation and keeping the swathes of persistent flies at bay which detracted a little from the otherwise very pleasant stay.

No power boats may be launched from the property. The river is part of the Knysna Lagoon National Park and power boats may not be used in the section of the river that the house is on. Sailboats and canoes are permitted.
Water should be used sparingly as it is supplied from a rain water collection system.
