Miemie and Jan are incredibly friendly and helpful. We felt it right away. Will definitely stay here again. Was only one and there, but was great. Wagter, Tiger and Trompie are the friendliest and most loving dogs.

We were received very kindly by staff (and dogs). Because we had to move the initial booking date due to circumstances, we had to stay in a different room than originally booked. This was understandable and acceptable to us. Management went out of their way to make it possible for us to watch RWC at Eid time. The finish in the rooms is rustic but it was clean and tidy. It fits the environment and was not distracting.

Yes, thank you. It was sufficient for what we were for in Kroonstad for the Jukskei SA. If we have to go again next year, we will stay there again. Felt completely at home (farm atmosphere).
The place is incredibly neat and clean. The owners are friendly and very hospitable. They especially went out of their way to make the time as pleasant as possible for our 2-year-old. We will definitely recommend the place to our friends and family. The location is also perfect, just far enough from town for peace and quiet, yet close enough for a quick shopping trip. We were warmly received. The place is very cute and well equipped. Linen and towels were clean and fresh. Everything was clean and tidy, except for the microwave oven in which someone heated curry and two bowls in which the curry was served which were also not clean.

The good: The owners' friendly welcome. The bad: The majority of rooms are sub-standard and belong in another category, e.g. bikers, etc. The advertisement only represents 2 of the 8 rooms. The ad is misleading. The ugly: the room has no windows, only sliding doors, which I don't want to leave open for fresh air during Eskom's loadshedding and thus attract spiders, scorpions and snakes. The property is right on the False River with thick vegetation and lots of bugs.
The photos are misleading. The doorknob was loose inside and couldn't lock at all, the TV also didn't work, the wiring of the place is also not good. Definitely won't stay there again.

Very friendly welcome in a neat, well-equipped place and a breathtaking view of the Sand River. The owner's three beautiful dogs make for great fun, lovely animals and very friendly. I recommend Riverstay with an open mind for an overnight stay or a longer visit.
For us 2 ladies traveling alone, Riverstay was absolutely the ideal overnight stay. Very safe, very neat and comfortably furnished. The river, abundant birdlife and friendly dogs were a bonus. Thank you for your help and effort in getting our barbecue fire going!

First of all, the people are very friendly and helpful. We were pulling a trailer and couldn't park in town. The owner's son brought us ice and wood from the town, which we really appreciated. The fishing spot is a bit uneven and could be improved. It would also be nice if a light was installed under the canopy. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable and we had a very nice stay. We really enjoyed the dogs as well as the guinea fowl and chickens. Would recommend the place anytime for those looking for peace and quiet. The place recharged our batteries again. Thank you very much again for your guest freedom!

So much attention to detail with a homely feel! Very welcoming and caring hosts. Only negative was that Google maps, garmin GPS and Waze all battled finding location... especially at night.

We really enjoyed our stay at Riverstay, our host Mimie could not do enough for us. The room is comfortable with quality beds and linen. The birdlife in the garden and along the river is fantastic. We will definitely return whenever we are in Kroonstad.
