Each of the 10 chalets are fully self-catering with a built-in braai and patio overlooking the wetland and its abundant bird-life. All units have a fully-equipped, open-plan kitchen to a spacious living room. They all have a TV with selected DStv and SABC channels for your entertainment.
The two 1-bedroom units each have full bathrooms, a bedroom with 2 single beds and a sleeper couch in the living area. These units can accommodate up to 4 persons at a time.
The 2-bedroom units, of which there are 8, have showers in the bathroom, 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds in each and a sleeper couch in the living room. They can accommodate a total of 6 persons at a time.
Parking is available for guest's vehicles at the chalet with secure access and exit. The chalets are within walking distance of a supermarket, restaurant, liquor store and take-away.
The a la carte restaurant, “Die Pont’ is situated in the hotel where you can enjoy delicious seafood and a variety of local dishes. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here. We are famous for our scrumptious Sunday buffet lunch for the whole family. Booking is essential.

Very very nice stay.
Comfortable two bedroom self catering chalet with one bathroom and indoor braai. Spacious, neat and clean. Full DStv available. View of Berg River and wetland. Parking for vehicle under roof. Hotel with restaurant, bar, breakfast very close if needed.

It is only a 1 star hotel I think - so one cannot expect a 3 or 4 star experience. Beds were ok and clean. The carpeted shower and cupboards were not the cleanest (must walk in slippers). Shower door had to be lifted to close etc. Breakfast was 'ok' for the hotel. Sweet bread that they bake themselves - we have never had sweet bread before! Why not sourdough or plain government bread would be better? The hotel offers what you pay for. They can make many improvements, but it will cost money they surely don't have and push the price up!
TV or DSTV faulty. Vehicle noise in early eveninig.
Was very kindly received by the staff. Rooms were very neat and comfortable with a nice view of the river. Secure parking was available. Pleasant surprise for a country town.
I think breakfast is a bit light, how about something before breakfast.
Meal at hotel: Long wait to take order and receive. Prices a bit high for the quantity. Drinking glasses dirty and full of lipstick. Service at chalets is very fast and friendly.
Not enough heating and no notice of load shedding, no backup power supply.
Chalets not cleaned properly. Whole place is wet because of water leaks. Fireplace leaking and broken. Bad smell in chalets. Bedding not clean and torn.
Regular maintenance needs to be done to the chalets.
Very spacious units. Just missing an aircon and comfy chairs and one double bed for the price. Otherwise great.
They can maybe just add more cleanliness to their bathrooms. Like cleaning in the corners otherwise no complaints.
Room was very nice and tidy, but the customer service was dismal. The man at reception didn't look like he wanted to be there at all. Had to ask questions all the time, from where the room is, to where the vehicles should be parked. There are no signs to show or anything. The gate we had to go through to park the cars didn't work, luckily someone came by who was able to enter a code into it. The restuarant's service was just as slow. There were 3 tables, waited over an hour for food. At the bar I waited for 20min, then I just walked, because the woman was clearly doing better things. Didn't even stay for breakfast at all, just wanted out.
Reception area stinks. The room was on the second floor and stairs were too steep to carry luggage up. The bed was not king size.
They are comfortable, well appointed and have a fantastic view over the wetlands and the river. The wetlands are very busy with birds. We will definitely stay there again and have already recommended to friends.

Reasonable accommodation with great value for money!
Ales was 100 percent. Al wat sleg is is dat mens eers 3 uur kan inklok.
The chalets are comfortable and generally well equipped. The only thing that needs improving is they need some comfortable chairs in the lounge. One very low sleeper couch is inadequate for 4 adults. Otherwise a great place to stay.
Cottage number 7 is incomplete. No toaster, no can opener and 1 garden chair too few. The plastic signs are not complete. We reported this to reception and no effort was made by the staff to help us.

The shower head leaked and all the water squirted all over the bathroom, we resorted to hanging a towel over the shower head to prevent the water from spraying. There were a group of people on the grass area outside our room (room 7) that were very loud, screaming and making a noise, we found it very annoying. The staff in the restaurant were excellent and very efficient.
It was a wonderful stay. The weekend was obviously planned for our son who has cerebral palsy and the accommodation met all his needs. He could move comfortably with his wheelchair and the bathroom facilities were adequate. He was able to go fishing on the jetty and our view of the lake was perfect.
Although I thought I was booking a chalet (my mistake, not the hotel's), the room was excellent. If I book again, I will ask for a room that does not face towards the dining room and/or is nearer to the river. Alternatively, I will book a chalet that faces the river.
Can't stop talking about the great weekend we had. The chalet has everything you need. Everything was neat and clean. We will definitely be booking another weekend again!
There was load shedding when we got there but still they gave us nice coffee (on the house) for the inconvenience. The room, bed and linen were bright and clean and we ate delicious fish fresh from the sea that evening at a reasonable price. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The food good value for money.
Looking forward to our next trip. Everything was neat and clean. Food at the restaurant was good value for money and the staff at the hotel were friendly.
The receptionist was very friendly but had no idea that we had already paid the full amount and asked for proof of payment which I luckily took with me. Our room was located directly opposite the laundry and ironing room and the cleaning ladies started making noise very early in the morning and talking loudly and slamming doors from a closet that was in front of our door which had the result that we could not sleep a bit.
It was incredible and everyone was so helpful, friendly and loving. My first experience and I will definitely go back to it and refer people. It's a great place with great people and assistance.

My husband and I found the stay pleasant. This was not our first visit and we will stay here again.
We enjoyed ourselves a lot, the environment was relaxing, the area was safe, being close to the shopping mall was very convenient. The resort itself was very cosy.

I just love the West Coast feel of it. Toes in the sand, cool sea breeze blowing through your hair and the heat of the blazing sun on your face, what more could you possibly want. The chalet's are fully equipped and very neat and tidy. I personally loved the indoor braai. We had a wonderful experience, my family can't wait to go back. Riviera, see you guys real soon.
On the stoepie there is a nice view of Bergrivier and right next to a fishing spot. Nice breeze that blows cool on those hot days.
Because we are older people, we really enjoyed the peace and quiet in the area and we spent a lot of time on the stoep. We had everything we needed, the braai was cleaned every day, the towels were changed daily and the bedding were changed on the third day. The new management is definitely a good addition and we were offered fishing rods. Will go back shortly.
There was no one at reception on arrival, asked someone then a lady came out of bar to give me my key. Did not get any information at reception. Very weak. There are also no information leaflets in the room. Room in poor condition, carpets dirty, paint chipping off and the toilet seat, not to mention, mismatched. Weak. On Sunday afternoon around 17:00 I come back to hotel thinking I'm going to have a drink on a chair and eat something only to get to reception, lights off no one at reception and sign up at restaurant to say 'closed' and also on Monday. Well, I just checked out earlier on Monday, and also without anyone asking me anything. Als was just weak there, and a lot. On Saturday night I had a nice meal at a restaurant. Definitely would not recommend. I'm just saying again it was very poor.
Everything was pretty and neat. Nonthing was lacking. Stunning view and quaint chalets. Will definitely recommend.

Before we went I read some other review to prepare myself, but we were really surprised. So warmly received and had a great time in the lady's bar - met some people etc. The children enjoyed playing in the river mud. Cleaners came daily to clean the indoor braai, sweep and empty the bin, and offered fresh towels and toilet rolls. Chalets very comfortable and fully equipped - you only need to take clothes and toiletries. Supermarket just across the road with everything you'd need and the hotel food is wonderful.
The pizza meal we had in the "Die Pont" restaurant was not very good due to the base but the topping was tasty. Sadly the restaurant itself lacks ambiance.
Beautiful accommodation! Relaxing and the perfect place to keep the kids busy by fishing, walking etc.
Would definitely suggest that a LIGHT breakfast be included.

Riviera Hotel met everything we needed in the room. The fridge and hairdryer were very welcome. The room did leak water when it started raining throughout the night.
Ladies at reception aren't trained. She couldn't find my deposit. Upon departure I had to pay again and I'm still waiting for a refund. The lady at reception couldn't do a reversal on the machine.
Very friendly reception. Unit was convenient, clean and neat. Good and safe overnight accommodation.

When we arrived they didn't even greet us, they just said: "You owe us money". We payed the balance 3 weeks before we arrived there. I had to provide proof of payment since reception didn't have it. They just told us enter by the gate, park on the grass, room 11. Which gate? Where is the grass? Where is room 11? Food in the restaurant wasn't like the description on the internet. Dry fish, dry overdone steak, terrible sauces. Tried twice, never again. Took the rest of our meals and breakfast at other restaurants in the area. On our last day, again "you owe us X amount". They added R1000 agent commission. But they deducted it immediately when we said it doesn't have anything to do with us.
