57 guests' feedbackWe arrived at a much larger accommodation than we had booked but quickly realized that the staff had accommodated us over the accommodation we would be staying in was damaged by water and the severe winter weather. Everything was very neat and clean. Any problems/questions we had were very quickly sorted out and/or answered. We had a lovely weekend and would go again anytime. We would also recommend them to anyone looking to get away for a bit.
It was amazing, the river had flooded so could not fish, but the warm fire inside was amazing! Limited activities but perfect to relax!
The stay was lovely. Only the first night, the people in the cabin next to us were drinking a lot and ended up making a lot of noise until 04:00, but luckily the issue was sorted out. We already have plans to go again. Lovely place.
It was very nice. Really enjoyed it.
It was amazing!
Everything was great.
I booked a luxury bush camp but was moved to another unit. The luxury unit I was supposed to have remained empty, so I was not happy about that. The unit I was moved to had a lamp that didn't work, and the deck was not in the best shape.
It's a very nice and peaceful place, where people can relax. Fish wouldn't bite us, but the other people did catch fish. Will definitely go back again.
Was an awsome, nice, clean and quiet place.
We had a great stay and everything was clean and tidy.
Felt very safe at this accommodation.
Nice and clean, comfortable beds! More than enough cutlery and kitchen items.
My husband and I booked a relaxing getaway for our wedding anniversary in one of the Bushcamps. Upon our arrival, the weather was not ideal and we got upgraded to one of the cabins for a minimal additional charge. With an indoor fireplace and beautiful views from our balcony, we really enjoyed cozying up next to the fire in the rainy weather. Such luxury at an affordable price will definitely be going back there again.
Despite the floods it was a peaceful break with lots of birdlife. Indoor braai and warm blanket kept us warm against the freezing cold. Everything you need to have a good time is available.
Very nice accommodation options, we stayed in a cabin with our dogs, was great (besides the mosquitoes). We took daily walks along the river through the camp, was midweek so mostly empty. Lots of space for dogs to run around and swim in the river, just watch out for roaming crabs. Not sure if that had to do with rising water levels of river, as it flooded the camp on our last day. Seems guests staying in vulnerable areas were moved or warned prior to river rising over banks. Informative lady in the reception that suggested some walks in area, and friendly resident Boerboel joined us for daily walks and evening braais. Lawns are beautifully kept, most sites are grassed and have direct river access.
We were 4 friends and my dog of 8 months. The campsites are large, there are trees and the river is lovely to swim in. Everyone was very friendly and my dog also enjoyed it tremendously. The ice, water and wood store is very handy. There is a power point for a regular 3 prong plug. Maybe take a 3 leg stand or some droppers with you as the braaiers are made of half drums and our grill was almost too small to fit over the top.
Everyone who camps there is polite and the grounds are very well maintained. Beautiful birds and close to Robertson if you need anything.
The pitches are nicely laid out and clean. The bathrooms are top quality and the people who camp there all respect each other and the rules. The manager on call was amazing when the geysers went off, came to turn it on late at night. Als was just perfect and will go back again and again and has already let everyone know it's the place to be.
It's a nice peaceful place to relax and get away for a bit.
Rivierzicht is a hidden paradise, an oasis in the middle of a dry Karoo environment and is our getaway place to rest the soul and body. Rivierzicht is affordable, always neat and clean and you are always very kindly received by everyone involved. The type of place you can recommend to anyone. Our stay with them has always been a prospect and we can't wait for our next visit.
We stayed at a one-bedroom cabin and it was very clean and everything you needed was there. The resort itself was clean and well kept. We would return if time allows, and we can recommend Rivierzicht with their various accommodation.
Everything was within walking distance. The place was clean and quiet and the atmosphere was peaceful. If you want to swim in the river, be sure to ask for a stand that has access.
Definitely a must for a getaway.
The location of this campsite was perfectly set out on the banks of the Breede River and very well maintained. We stayed in one of the log cabins, which was great for my elderly parents and myself. Everything you need at your fingertips. The indoor braai was a great bonus as it was particularly cold during our stay. I would definitely visit again.
Truly went above and beyond to help us once I realized I had foolishly left my tent poles at home. What was looking like a disaster weekend in the making became an amazing experience thanks to the staff at Rivierzicht. Lots of sun, swimming, and food. We will be back. Soon. With our own tent poles!
It was very quiet and a beautiful place.
Although the resort is safe with beautiful views, something which I could recommend is a little play area for the kids to enjoy themselves. We had the adventure of watching the river burst its banks during our stay which affected the campers on the lower ground. The river doubled it's size in width which was wide to start off with. I would have appreciated some form of resort management to check in and ensure its residents are safe during this ordeal. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and would revisit any day.
We stayed in one of the permanent tents on raised deck overlooking the river. Queen bed, quality linen, electric blanket, fan, etc. private braai area, coupled with relatively private stands and a strict policy of no music or loud noise after 10pm make this a prime choice in experiencing very comfortable 'camping' in the outdoors. We go to the bush to escape the city, but many camp sites are now unpleasant to stay at by the continuous playing of loud music, drunken yelling and shouting, etc. till all hours. Rivierzicht is worth visiting for the noise policy alone. One thing that would be nice is if on the info sheet you are given on checking in is information on things like the lunch cruise on the river, any boat/canoe hire options in the area, the nearest winetasting/restaurant options, etc.
Lovely, peaceful setting, well appointed, value for money.
The pitches are large and one can have fun under the canopy next to the river. The honesty box for wood, ice and drinking water was very convenient. The bathrooms could be cleaned more often.
Had an amazing stay, everything was neat and clean and we fell in love with the gorgeous friendly doggies. Thank you for an amazing weekend!
The "honesty box" for ice and wood was very handy! Very neat campsite.
It is rare that you find an affordable place that is still tidy and fully equipped. Rivierzicht is definitely such a place. We were very happy with the accommodation and activities to do there. All criticism we have is that the ablution blocks need some renovation. It would also be nice if there were rowing boats/tjoeps/SUP boards etc. offered for rent as it is the perfect area for such activities, but not everyone has such equipment.
Cabin was neat and practical. Campsite was very quiet. We were able to relax while children were fishing and swimming. Thanks for a very nice weekend.
Definitely worth it for a getaway weekend or longer. Relaxing. The accommodation is very good. Facilities good, will definitely go again.
We had a great time - it was peaceful. Nice clean and green. Lots of shade. Will definitely go again.
Rivierzicht is a nice experience, as this is our third time around. Good break-away weekend to just absorb the nature.
The accommodation is usually very peaceful, but this time there were visitors with a river houseboat who were terribly noisy until the early hours of the morning despite the rule that everyone must calm down after 10h00.
It was nice to relax on the green grass with our little dog. Heard an owl call in the evening and woke up with the birds.
The pitches are spacious and well located. Ablutions are clean and convenient just a shame there is only one block which means some sites have to walk a long way. The ablutions use river water for the sinks and showers. There is a faucet and sink at each stand, but they are terribly dirty and one is expected to wash dishes with river water, as there are no washing up facilities at the ablutions.
Something that was really amazing to me about this place is the honesty box, where you can 'buy' wood, ice and water and place your payment for it in an honesty box. However, I would recommend that they adjust the ad, with the single cabin they say that it is a stand alone unit, but it is opposite another single cabin. The description also states that there are stunning views of the river from the deck, you can only see a small part of the river. However, the worst part was the bedroom blinds that did not cover the full length of the window (the shower is also in the bedroom) and there were frequent other guests walking past our bedroom window.
A nice stay. The chalet needs a little bit of TLC. NR 3 B where we stayed, the view of the dam is hampered by a tree, would have liked a view like the other chalets. The kids enjoyed it a lot. Will go again.
We loved the grassy, shady camp sites. The ablutions were clean and spacious. It was peaceful and relaxing. We loved the river and bird life.
Very neat cottages with a very nice view of the river. We had a good stay and did not experience any problems. Will definitely go again.
Enjoyed every moment. Beautiful, serene, quiet. Friendly people - we were even treated to some wonderful fruit at very low prices. Fantastic - we will come again.
Lovely peaceful campsite on the banks of the river! Shade nets at the pitches a big bonus, nice close to town for shopping, although water, wood and ice for sale at a very reasonable price. Hot water all the time, although some attention could be paid to showers. Will definitely go again!
Great tenting location right next to Breede river. Decent amount of shade. Lovely river to take a quick dip in.
Picturesque location next to the river. Perfect location to switch off and escape into nature. You can stay in one of several permanent tents or in a wooden house. Will recommend it with confidence.
Loved the weekend relaxing and fishing without stressing about where and how the kids are. Safe environment.
A very nice place to break away from city life with friends/family. The crockery, cutlery and other accessories are cute and neatly packed - the place is nicely kitted out! Enough electricity and light. The location is great, not too far out of town, nice and close to the wedding venue, DuVon.
House 4(b) was clean and neat. The contents of the house was of a high quality. The only thing that bothered me was the cold shower after I had carried out the instructions. The birds were something to experience. Fish eagles to sparrows came around to visit.
The resort is indescribably beautiful. We stayed 4 nights in one of the cabins. The place is very neat and well furnished. It was so nice to be able to wake up every morning with the birds singing. They become so tame that they go inside the cabin and can almost eat out of your hand. The river is so beautiful and close and it was so nice to be able to fish a few meters from where we live. If you want to break away and experience the tranquility of nature, this is just the place for you. I will definitely be back again the first opportunity I get.
If you like nature this is a perfect getaway. The birds just came to sit on our porch and we were able to take beautiful photos. For the price, I expected more from the accommodation. The unit definitely needs a facelift for the price. It's a bit out-dated.
My daughter and I had a great time. Nice playground and lots to do in Robertson and surrounding areas. The owners are helpful and very very friendly. I will definitely be back next year. Many thanks to LekkeSlaap for quick feedback. You guys are great!
