Our stay was very peaceful. The staff was friendly. Our room was perfect with a good view, so it was worth it. The staff even left us a note, as well as water and a snack, which is very kind and nice of them to do.

The stay was great, the only problem was the downstairs room. I felt unsafe to open a window as people can climb through from the outside. Otherwise, it was a great stay.
The beds and pillows are not in good condition.

Check-in was a disaster.
The stay was pleasant. There is definitely a communication gap with the booking's administrators. I booked two rooms and emphasised that they needed to be next to each other. I made myself clear as my twin girls are 13 years of age. My booking was done two months in advance. I did a follow-up call in the first week of March to ensure this was done, only to arrive there after a 14-hour drive to find out my instructions weren't followed. Management couldn't assist, the night managers didn't even inform the senior managers, and they didn't even try to find a way to remedy the situation.
Good value for money. Good location with food and entertainment options within walking distance.
It was comfortable, the small hallway sometimes had noise, but it was managable.
The accommodation was adequate. The guests, however, are uncontrolled. Noisy throughout the Friday and Saturday night. Children knocking on doors of guests. Guests only settling from 5 in the morning. Won't go back.
Upon arrival, check-in was a smooth process. We received the keys to our rooms and entered a room that was filthy, with bedding laying everywhere and fumed with smoke ashes and cigarettes scattered around. This really put me off as my daughter has asthma. I immediately wanted to leave! The receptionist had to answer calls, check in visitors, and call the security to take our bags and sort out the rooms, etc. They are understaffed or just lazy because there are people laughing and talking loudly in the back.
I had no problems.
We had a pleasant stay. There was no disruption, it was very quiet and peaceful, which was great.

Road Lodge was a very nice place to stay as it was only for 1 night, we did not book a luxury but still enjoyed it there. It is right on the beach with a mall right there.
Reception was super friendly and efficient. Neat basic rooms. Very centrally located. Unfortunately there is no lift to the rooms.

Could pay a little more attention to cleanliness and cleaning of rooms, dead moth on carpet, sheet had hair and dirt on it when bed opened, television reception not good at all - snowy images.
It was enjoyable and the accommodation was good.
They could supply better toiletries for showering purposes.

My phone was flat thinking i will charge it when i get to the hotel, dololo plug you need to improve even malls have charging port.
Very nice stay. There were no problems. At weekends, however, the influx of people and taxis is something incredible, and you definitely can't just come to the beach in peace.
The room is very small, but for the purpose of just staying over for business you get what you pay for.
During my reservation on May 5, I asked for a room with a view of the sea. According to the lady, it was not a problem. When I confirmed my booking on Friday 1 September I was told that my view was inland. It was a huge disappointment. At the counter of Road Lodge I was also told that there were no more sea view rooms and that they would cost more than I paid.
Good, just the ice machine broke down and children were a bit noisy in the passages.

The venue was central, clean and the staff extremely helpful. I thought there would be a small fridge available, but we coped without one. The Bridge Mall was overrun by hundreds of youth, drinking, screaming, and fighting. The accommodation had no control over that, but it added to the experience (location). If I make use of the accommodation, I will prefer one located elsewhere in Port Elizabeth.
Weather was great. Hosts were friendly and accommodating.
I was supposed to leave on Saturday, but there were no buses leaving for Cape Town on Saturday so I booked an extra day. They helped a lot.
Plenty of restaurants around, good location, check in and check out very quick and convenient. Breakfast is an extra charge though.

It was fine for a one night stay. Also, they should specify to which guests or rooms the light breakfast is applicable to and not advertise on the website that breakfast is included and when one checks in, you hear that breakfast is an extra charge.
Well located, convenient for overnight stays and good value for money.
We forgot trousers, a belt and a sadly very sentimental value there. I sent them an email and still no reply. I also called them and they told me that no one in the room saw it. Even though the location is very good, I will not take groups to the hotel again because of the incident.
The aircon was broken and there was no one to fix it, asked if we could get a fan and they couldn't help us. Asked to be moved but they couldn't help with that either.
If you suffer at all from fear of crowds - stay away. Room and especially bathroom extremely cramped. We have stayed better for that price and even less. The breakfast which is extra was unpalatable. The highlight was probably the toast and fruit salad. Dry scrambled egg only - asked for fried egg but they don't make anything extra than what is on the buffet.
Room small, but neat and clean.
Dark, small & gloomy rooms. Noisy corridors. Not many amenities, no mini-fridge, just 1 tiny bar of soap for 2 adults & 2 kids for 2 nights. Breakfast area way too small for amount of guests. Bed old, extremely soft and uncomfortable. Checked out after 1 night and went to another hotel.
Television did not work properly, room had a terrible smell. Only one, thin duvet, no extra in the cupboard, so I was freezing. The hotel had a terrible smell everywhere. The room does look like the picture, but it is much smaller than appearance. Not happy with the stay.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting.

Stay at Road Lodge was good. Reception staff and security are friendly and professional. Room is neat and well furnished.
It was only an overnight visit for me and my wife, who were traveling through the Eastern Cape and Southern Cape. The room met our requirements for a one-night stay.
The staff and the accommodation itself was the best.
Excellent place to stay.
A bit noisy as people go in and out. Close to restaurants. Rooms need a bit of TLC as carpets have stains and it was a run around to get a hairdryer.
We asked for a "beachfront view" and were not even heard, or explained sorry no rooms available or given any feedback. We were just told to wait please. the lady went to see if your rooms were ready. Weak!
No tv channel like 144,145 or 147. Shame.
Accommodation quite small. Dstv not all channels. Very clean and tidy. Feel the amount per night is really too high.
