I was there for a minimum stay so it suited me perfectly.
This lodge was great for our purpose, i.e. 1-night stayover, close to a shopping mall and restaurants.
I absolutely loved my stay, the place is convenient - close to all amenities. I loved that my room is cleaned every day and the breakfast is delicious. The staff is friendly and everyone is willing to assist with anything needed. Thank you to Siyabonga - such a pleasure .

It was overall good. The only thing is that my teenager decided to venture on her own and was left to leave the premises. The guards were great to help me look for her. The reception person was not interested. I think that they should not have allowed her out without checking with me as a preventative measure. The bathroom had only 1 soap and nothing in the shower.

The room was not very clean. I had requested that the room be swept properly. The guests in other rooms were loud, noisy and drunk.
Not good value for money. Although it was clean and the water was warm, I've had much nicer stays for less. It is also next to Gateway shopping center and sometimes gets a bit noisy, which makes one wonder about the safety.
Was bad, room very small with aircon not working and couldn't open even a window as it's ground floor; people pass there going to the smoking area and look in the window.
Stay was okay. Close to amenities. . WiFi password were inaccurate, wasn't interested in going down and asking. This should simply work. We requested cutlery but we were given plastic utensils. totally uneceptable. Security guard at gate was sometimes not available. We had to go and ask reception to open. This poses a security risk when driving in at night. it's uneceptable. Surroundings in the evening where noisy i. e. people in the streets fighting and cursing.
You get what you pay for and it's a cheap hotel. Their computer systems need upgrading and their staff training. Unpleasant experience of receiving a receipt at clearance which is a prerequisite if you are traveling for business reasons and want to claim back the expense.

We arrived around 17h00 on Sunday and they were still busy cleaning rooms. Our room was ready except that there were no towels, this was later rectified. Our biggest problem was that the LED strip light above the bed did not work and was therefore impossible to read. The Receptionist indicated that maintenance would not come until the next day, finally she offered us another room and said "then we can sell your room again". My answer was yes please. and you see a chance to rent out a defective room again just like that. We then found the room next door but that light didn't work either. Neither does the room opposite. I then walked into a room that was still being serviced and that light was working. We decided to stay in the original room and I spoke to the Management on duty the next day and asked them to contact me.
It's perfect for a 1 night stay. The rooms are small and clean. The bath towels need replacing.

Car parking is too little. The car had to spend the night in the Mall parking lot. The aircon in the room does not work. Would like to pay less.
Although the location is good and the place is very neat, I was very disappointed because I made a specific request to them for 2 single beds for both rooms and they didn't do it.
Nice for a quick overnight stay, very tidy and friendly help. Restaurant available, unfortunately breakfast is not included, it's quite expensive and very little underground parking, had to park outside at Gateway, at least they pay your ticket. Check-out is actually 11 o'clock in the morning, not 10 o'clock, so that's fantastic! Rooms and bathrooms are very small and no fridge, but still very tidy and at least the coffee/tea station is there and free WiFi! Overall we had a nice stay.
However, unpleasant experience with drunk residents banging doors all night. Talking very loudly with no regard for others trying to sleep. Next morning they continue the noise and move around the premises with glasses of drink in their hands and no masks. Security pretends they don't see anything.
Rowdy, cigarette smoke in room lingered on from previous customers, no extractor fans in the bathrooms, limited shower accessories.

I'm recommending some improvement in terms of breakfast because the service is poor. The team takes time to refill food and also we had to wait for clean plates and the menu did not meet my expectations and needs.
Unfortunately upon arrival we had to wait almost an hour to check in. They have this silly online system that just covers the covi questions too, but it took so long and there were only 2 people on reception to help. Furthermore, it was comfortable for one night's sleep.

No bar fridge as expected. The ice machine was forever out of service. The TV channels were changed without our concern. At some stage, all 7 channels showed soccer. We could not view the news.
Staff were friendly, room was cleaned daily. Location was perfect, we were right behind the mall, restaurants just around the corner. Everything is just nearby, we walked most of the time because everything was in close proximity except when we had to go the beach and Ballito. Definitely worth the stay, makes one want to plan another trip to Umhlanga.
