Beautiful scenery and variety of hiking trails. The hospitality and service was excellent.
The surroundings and walking places are unbeatable. However, the cottage itself looks like it hasn't been attended to in a very long time. Four pudding plates e.g. for six people, five large plates, too few glasses, and no dish towels or paper towels, a light without a bulb in it and a door handle that hangs from one screw and just fell off after day one. It doesn't seem like anyone applies quality control and inspects the place before guests arrive, and it compares poorly to other places in the same price range. Which is a shame, because the farm itself is lovely. The resident caretakers are very nice and accommodating, but someone needs to see that the house is properly equipped before guests arrive.

Rockhaven Guest Farm is well worth a visit if only because of it's stunning views and remote location. The cottage was rustic but clean and comfortable. The walks absolutely lovely except they are poorly signposted. My only real beef with this places the totally inadequate directions. I don't mind going over a steep mountain pass but would like to know when I'm on it that I am going in the right direction. But if you want to be gob smacked by incredible natural beauty, great bird-life and spectacular flora, this is the place to go!
The private and special location of this cottage is ideal to get away and rest! It is beautiful, the area - and what is nicer than making a fire in the cold and rainy weather and enjoy the fog hanging everywhere outside. We were grateful, though, that we took on the wet and muddy road with a bakkie.
Rockhaven Guest Farm surprised us with their fantastic service and value for money. We definitely plan to go again!
We where a large group of family and friends. The place was ideal with lots of activities.
The remote rocky mountainous area is one of exceeding beauty. The accommodation provided is comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, and the cottages sits discretely within the landscape. Everything one needs is provided, in a quiet understated way. There is a lovely harmony between the natural world and the cottages on the farm. Swimming in the dam and in the river pools was wonderful. Jaap and his wife were charming, and assisted us with whatever we needed. I would love to spend more time there: the starry nights and the quiet world were wonderful.
We had an absolutely amazing time at Rockhaven Guest Farm. This is the ideal destination if you looking for peace and fresh air. I am rejuvenated and ready for life again. We are looking forward to going back in summer! Thank you Stofelina for the lovely welcome and send off!
Rustig ruim natuurlijk, goed geregeld, niet zo gastvrij.
The setting is fabulous, the house is well equipped and the place is peaceful.
They say it's animal friendly, but their 2 dogs got into a fight with ours on our porch. Rather not indicate animal friendly. Otherwise, it was a lovely place that creates tranquility. Beautifully over!
