"Despite the great location, our stay at Rockwell Views was unpleasant."

According to our booking confirmations received from you by email and WhatsApp, check-in at Rockwell Views 305 was at 14:00. We planned our trip accordingly, for arrival at Rockwell Views at 14:00. At 13:30, I received a WhatsApp from the host requesting our vehicle registration number for parking to be arranged at Rockwell Views. I was then informed that check-in was from 15:00. We were already heading into Cape Town at that point. If we had known earlier that check-in was at 15:00 only, we would have planned accordingly. According to the host, their check-in policies are at 15:00 for all properties and they claim that the check-in time was incorrectly advertised as 14:00. However, you confirmed that they receive all information on the listings from the hosts directly. We arrived at Rockwell Views at 14:00, and could not check in as we were advised by the host that Michelle (presumably the cleaner) should be finished by 14:20. My husband and two children waited in the car, while I waited at the reception desk of Rockwell Views (the reception desk cannot assist with check-in, we had to wait for Michelle). Michelle arrived at the reception at around 14:30. She then had to try to sort out parking for us. I understand that a form for parking registration was sent to the host 24 hours before (to avoid guests having to wait in reception). Therefore, our parking registration was not ready on arrival. They were unable to complete the form online, and Rockwell Views had to print the form to be completed. At 15:00 (with parking registration still not completed) Michelle accompanied me to our vehicle to collect our belongings (my husband and two children waited in the car the entire time). Only once we were in unit 305, were we informed about the renovation works to the outside of the building. We were not informed of this before booking or before arrival at the unit. The reality was far from what was advertised. We were not able to use the balcony at all due to the scaffolding and safety issues. The Wi-Fi/ internet did not work (according to the advertisement guests are afforded complimentary Wi-Fi). Michelle tried to get the Wi-Fi router to work, without success. We left the unit at around 16:00, and returned at around 19:15. At that point Michelle was still at the unit trying to to fix the Wi-Fi issue. In the meantime, she was trying to connect a dongle instead, for us to have internet access. Given how late it was already, we told Michelle not to worry, and that we will try to figure it out. Unfortunately, we could not connect to the router or dongle, and we had to use our phones as tethering hotspots instead to watch TV when at the unit. The shower was not sealed properly. It leaked a fair amount of water when showering (we had to soak the bathroom mats and towels to dry the floor after showering). The bath itself is cracked as well.
