We loved being in nature again. Rocky drift doesn't have many chalets so it felt as if we were alone, wonderful. So calming to walk the trail as it goes all the way next to and over the river. Loved it so much that we booked again and this time for the whole family!
Beautiful part of the country. Tranquil.
The hiking trails that include the mountain stream were a pleasant surprise especially on the 10 km trail, with the hidden waterfall at the end. We needed the break so much and are refreshed with the scenery even though it is still dry after winter, can't wait to see how it will look in late summer.
Very nice place to just switch off and enjoy nature. The houses have everything you need and were very neat and clean. All that disturbed a bit were a bunch of scramblers and quad bikes from another place that drove through the farm 3 times on Saturday. It was a nasty noise by other people who have no respect for guests who come to switch off in the woods.
Very quiet, peaceful and very beautiful scenery.
We couldn't find the turn off to the accommodation because the GPS coordinates that appear on the website led us nowhere. The first call to the owner went unanswered. However, he sent a message a few minutes later with directions. The directions took us along a train track on a dirt road to a fenced house with a locked gate and no lights on (it was already pitch dark). We attempted to contact the owner, but he did not answer his phone. I texted him that we couldn't find the place and were going to stay across the road at Oasis. The message was only answered the next day with a: "Oasis is right at the turn"!
My wife and the dogs really enjoyed the weekend. Thanks to the owner.
Can recommend it to anyone who needs rest. Accommodation is very clean and tidy and has everything you need. The scenery is very beautiful. Staff very friendly.
We were there with our 3 dogs for two nights and I'm not sure who enjoyed it anymore, us or them! The accommodation was very well appointed and despite the cold weather the first day and night the fireplace kept us very warm and cozy. The hiking trail along the river with the dogs was incredibly beautiful and ideal for picnics. We really do not want to recommend the place too strongly in case it gets so busy that we will not find space again! Thank you very much, we will definitely be back!
Hans was very accommodating and helpful, as cancelled that morning due to unforeseen events and later during day we decided to see if our chalet was still available and make our way through. Hans got our chalet ready for us once more. The chalets are still new and they are still busy building a restaurant. Really cute cottages and perfect for 2 or 3 people. The views are stunning.

You have to self cater as the road, in my view, would be a real challenge at night if you went for dinner elsewhere.
We had a wonderful weekend here, neat, clean place! First people to stay in the new Reed Cottage will definitely stay there again. Very friendly and helpful host. Will definitely recommend if you just want to get away from the city noise and want a quiet weekend.

It is for sleeping only, TV did not work (thunder) one bedroom with bathroom and kitchen, do not expect too much, was clean and tidy, but the door could not close.
Accommodation is very nice, just a pity that there is no extra things to keep you warm. The place itself is very cold. Wood for sale is quite expensive. Attention is needed at the spot we stayed in. Among other things, there was no broom. The braai area is not cleaned after one has a braai and there are no facilities to do it yourself. The braai area is also a bit far from the chalet. The other chalets had a Weber braai except for the chalet we stayed in. This is just to name a few things. Other than that, our stay was very quiet and nature definitely made up for the other things that were missing.

It is a place in the bush that we'll visit again. Peace and quiet, and yet a lot to do.
The guesthouse is stunning and well equipped. The tame peacocks were very entertaining! The kids were a bit disappointed that the DStv didn't work.
Beautiful reserve with a lot of potential. Owl House was a great house but needs some renovations (toilet bowl in rood drips on your head when you sit) and better security (less dodgy locks on big sliding doors and burglar bars). We were somewhat disappointed with the reception which completely forgot our booking and arrangement of checking in late. Was quite bad to wait in front of the gate at night with the owner cellphone being unanswered from the afternoon already. Thank you very much to LekkeSlaap for their excellent help line and sorting it out within minutes. We also had to wait for the house to get prepared. Other than that we slept great and if a couple of things regarding the service can be sharpened we'll definitely visit them again.

The reception very good and Juta very friendly and helpful. The house has everything you need and a nice big fridge. The environment is quiet and peaceful and very beautiful and nice to go for a walk up the mountain. It was hard work, but worth it. The view on the way up and on top of the mountain is breathtaking.
Although you are sceptical upon arrival, we were very happy with the cute chalet and the staff's helpfulness. The environment lends itself to relaxation and enjoyment of nature. I will stay for a bit longer next time.
I communicated with the owner himself by phone and made sure we could check in early. When we arrived at the destination, there was another group of people in our unit. We had to wait over an hour to get into our reserved (and confirmed) unit. The caretaker who stays on the premises and waits for the guests, apparently told the other group that no more people are coming this weekend, so they can go into any of the cottages. It's really unacceptable. The man was taking a bath when we wanted to go in, so the unit was also not cleaned again before we could go in. Apparently another group of people who were booked at the other unit also arrived. They were then forced to knock somewhere else. I didn't talk to them myself, my husband and father did. But it's also simply unacceptable! I have no problem with the unit itself. Everything was very neat and completely acceptable.

It's a very nice place with a nice view and picturesque river pools and mountains. Webster House was neat and very comfortable. Friendly animals and people. Very cozy - especially with the fireplace. Will stay at RockyDrift again.
The view is fantastic. The house is beautiful, but the bedding did not look or feel fresh and clean. We were surprised with the big house. However, the lights do not work in the kitchen and this was a major annoyance. A pool would have been welcome.
Upon arrival I had to search for any staff. The owners house was inhabited by non-paying guests who commandeered the quad am bikes. The vegetation and runds were in a dreadful state due to a family of dwarf goats which were roaming free. These animals defecated all over the patio of the owl house, jumped up onto the table and chairs and were totally loose within the compound. The grid to the "private braai" had been taken by the non-paying guests and to cap it all their appeared two kittens which attacked the peahens chicks. Access to any walks was blocked and the area behind the rondel was filthy
Rockydrift calmed our urban souls with lapping water on our doorstep, mountains surrounding us and hiking that let our feet take the road. We were able to have a wonderful time by the fireplace in the spacious open plan design and for the cooks there was everything they needed. The complete gas stove with oven and modern, LARGE fridge surprised us. The two double beds and two bathrooms are definitely a plus (there is a third room with two single beds). The supervisors welcomed us kindly and looked after our needs, but the fact that they are our immediate neighbors means that privacy is sacrificed. We recommend Rockdrift without hesitation and it's ideal for families with young children who need space to run around. Thanks again for a wonderful time and place to stay that exceeded our expectations.
We were 6 adults, 2 toddlers and we had a WONDERFUL time! The house is very well looked after and built beautifully. The garden is spacious for the children to run and play and we really enjoyed the location - off the beaten track yet also close enough to shops if needed. The onsite staff are very friendly and helpful! We enjoyed the hiking trails and swimming in the rock pools. Thank you for a fantastic weekend to remember! We will most definitely recommend Rockydrift to anyone looking for accommodation in the area.
It's a beautiful place that is comfortably furnished for a lovely weekend getaway. Lower green lawns and beautiful walking trails.
We just feel the bedding needs more sanitizing. There were many things in the bed and pillows that left us with bites after our first night's sleep. The mattress may also be turned over more or perhaps simply replaced. We stayed in the one bedroom cottage.
The forest sounds mixed with the beautiful view and quiet camp atmosphere was amazing, we really enjoyed the old mountain goat that came by every morning. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The road between the track and the camp just needs some renovation, doesn't work so well with a standard vehicle.
However, the owner can provide coffee, tea, sugar and milk, even if only for the first night.
My husband and I had such a nice relaxing getaway from the rat race of our everyday lives while at Rockydrift Private Nature Reserve. Very enjoyable, thank you.

It was very nice, even if there is some car noise on a busy weekend. Apart from the misunderstanding with the other people who were there the same weekend, we really enjoyed it.
Beautiful and peaceful just what my partner and I needed. I would suggest the cottage has a couch added, as we wanted to utilize the fireplace, but had no comfy place to snuggle up on. There were also a few cockroaches in the kitchen :( . The road leading to the reserve is not friendly to regular cars, and is better suited to a bakkie or a 4x4. Other than that, we had a wonderful time and we will definitely be coming back soon. The care taker and his family were amazing. Thank you for a great stay!!
We booked Owl House but luckily were offered Webster House on arrival. The Owl House loft is in my mind, not habitable, and should not be marketed as accommodation. I would have been very upset if we were forced to stay there. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will definitely return to stay in Webster House only. Love to Whiskey and kudos to Jonas and Linah!

A wonderful little chalet with beautiful finishes. Walks in the valley with its waterfalls were a highlight. Judas was very friendly and helpful. It is highly recommended for soul cleansing.
The place was very difficult to find no markings to Rockydrift but to Bergwater the owner should at least explain that when he send out directions. Despite that, good value for money, and good service.
Nice and quiet and isolated from the outside world. However, only slept in the evening and will perhaps stay longer next time and follow walking routes. Maybe get a different view of everything. However, costs paid for three to just sleep were too high in my opinion.
We were disappointed that we were not informed that there would be no trained/formal staff to receive us.
