Very nice view. Surrounded by these beautiful mountains. For sure you are not staring into a garden surrounded by 4 walls. Very good hospitality with cookies and fresh milk. Additional toothpaste pack, shaving cream and razor should you forget them, with a welcome soap and cream pack. Very neat and clean.
Great stay! Dudley the donkey was a big hit. Fantastic communication from management throughout.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Rocky Mountain Log Cabins. Room was not ready on arrival (after 14:00) but still offered to us. Bedding was still dirty from previous guests and room not even cleaned. The host asked us to go for a drive for about an hour, but we were only informed at 17:00 that another unit was found ready for us. The description of the rooms says each room has a microwave, but there is no microwave in any of the units. The host did offer to make us a plan with a generator and a microwave for the night we would need it, but unfortunately did not follow through on the offer. There is only solar power available and at certain times there was no power. Not even for the lights in the room. Another thing that one should be aware of before booking here is that hair dryers and straighteners are also not used at all and this makes things difficult for those who like to blow dry their hair. The safety could possibly be a problem as the places are located right next to the main road, between Clarens and Fouriesburg, with only a cattle fence that anyone would be able to climb through very easily. No security gates or burglar bars have been fitted to the units. The accommodation unfortunately spoiled our quick getaway. Don't think we will stop here again.
