On arrival we (group of 7 adults) were informed by the agent representing the owner about a blocked wash basin in one of the bathrooms. Why not resolved a known problem before guests arrived is unacceptable. We also experienced push back in the toilet when flushed. The explanation given for both was because of filling up of septic tank due to blockage on municipal sewage line. Suction of septic tank was arranged for 3rd day which resolved toilet push back problem, but not blocked wash basin, which was only resolved after several calls. Then the one shower started to block. The bed linen left a lot to be desired and one towel per guest is not acceptable for accommodation of this nature. Toilet seats were loose and could not be tightened (low quality). The house is spacious and comfortable but is in need of some upgrade of the facilities. The willingness of the agent to assist cannot be doubted, but pro-active action to rectify known problems spoilt a the holiday stay in this house. Will not recommend it until proper upgrades have been done.

We had a wonderful stay, and the house was clean and tidy. There was also enough cutlery and the kitchen was well equipped.

We enjoyed the weekend very much and would recommend it to anyone who wishes to visit Hentiesbaai in the near future.

Cutlery was dirty in the drawer and glasses were not washed clean. Mattresses were hard and uncomfortable. Bedding was not good quality, my duvet e.g. slid around inside the duvet cover. Each bed must have at least 2 pillows for each person, the gap between the wall and the bed was so big that you struggle all night to keep your pillow under your head. There are 3 sleeper couches in the living room but the bedding for them is nowhere near sufficient. There was bedding in the closet in the master bedroom but it was for single beds, and all the beds in the house, including the sleeper couches, are double. Towel rail in master bathroom falls off, the curtain rail in master bathroom falls off when you try to open it, only one lamp in master bedroom has a light bulb in it and you have to use an extension cord to turn on the lamp, one side of the headboard knob falls off. Thank you very much for the braai wood that was provided, it is appreciated. The braai place inside is a plus. I suspect that the owner has created a "new" place to stay, I also understand that visitors can be very destructive, and also pointy like me now, but little things can make or break a place, and overall feeling we drove away with was one of "oh no that wasn't fun". I would like her to take these points as constructive criticism and pay just as little attention to little things that would make it better for the normal visitor. Nice pillows, lovely fluffy blankets and towels and good mattresses with a decent duvet or comforter will go a long way to satisfy you. The other option is that she asks the visitor to bring their own bedding and towels. And then please the cutlery must be clean. Sorry Amanda, but I think you should know the stuff.
