The German immigrants moved to this area in 1859 and since then there is a 4 and 5 generation German community in this area.

Had a great sleep. Place is clean and tidy and the farm is calm, peaceful and safe. Good place to stay and the owners are friendly and helpful.

Was kindly received and immediately felt welcome. Vehicle was parked safely in front of the door. Slept well in a clean and tidy unit with the most amazing shower.
Very quiet environment, very tidy. Comfortable place in the living room and dining room to sit and do some more work before the sun goes down.
The accommodation and facilities themselves are in line with the price of accommodation, but the reception was very cold. I suspect it was purely because I had to call on the way to get directions to get to the place. There were certain factors that could not put me on the "spot" to get to the place, but there was no interest that was wrong. Rather, I was arrested for not following the Whatsapp instructions. MTN signal on the way up was weak in places, which had an impact on mobile data and therefore also affected Google Maps. The written Whatsapp instruction was for me to turn right at a 3rd robot. At the 1st robot the main street was closed due to roadworks, and I had to take a "detour" which meant I didn't get to a 3rd robot. Furthermore, the instruction was that the guest house is "17 km from Piet Retief". The question from a stranger is, when are you already out of town to start measuring the 17 km? This instruction means pretty much nothing. At the accommodation I also experienced that there was no MTN mobile phone signal. Further clarification can be provided if required. One would also expect that you would be told if there is WiFi or not, and if so, the "password", but this was not communicated either. I am the forerunner of many other friends and celebrities who will visit Piet Retief (Mkhondo) in the near future. They have to make some decisions, including accommodation, on my recommendation, but this one isn't going to work.

Really beautiful, the gardens surround the cottage. The friendly owner is there to greet you on arrival, very accommodating and efficient. Will definitely recommend it.

Lovely accommodation on a beautiful farmyard. Good privacy, easy access and good facilities. Bedrooms are beautiful and neat.
Rohrs is quiet, tidy, clean and safe. In addition, excellent value for money. The ideal place if you want to relax and break away. The road from town is good and you can just pop out really quickly. I sat on the porch with the cat on my lap and read a book. Just looked up every now and again to admire the beautiful garden and views and watch the birdlife.
Heidrun and Remo are very hospitable and received us generously. The rooms are elegantly and lovingly furnished. The view over the valley is breathtaking and the blue wildebeest and blackbuck that graze close to the guest house, special. Definitely worth staying the night here.

Stunning premises and spacious accommodation. A short distance outside of town which makes it quiet, but it's also a bit far from restaurants.
The Rohrs Farm Guesthouse is located in a beautiful landscape and the hosts are very professional. The accommodation is of a high quality and very tidy.
We stayed for an overnight stay travelling from Hluhluwe to Johannisburg. Very nice and friendly hosts, spacious rooms, nice surroundings. We definitely recommend Röhrs Guestfarm.
Rohrs Gastehuis is very neat, and very comfortable. A lot of effort was made to make our stop on the way to the sea comfortable and convenient. Heaters were already on, there was a cookie left for everyone in the room, and the place had everything we needed for an overnight stop. The garden is also nice for people with children, children can play outside after a long drive they are tired. Thank you very much, we will definitely stop at your place again on the way to the sea, I can recommend the accommodation!
