This is an amazing location. We had a wonderful stay. The host went out of their way to make our time there memorable.
We were received very hospitably by the hostess and the chalet was very neat and clean with everything we needed. The kolkol hot tub was a winner, even though there was a freezing wind. Sitting and star gazing was amazing. The surroundings are beautiful and we saw a lot of wildlife on the 4x4 route that you take up to the lookout point. The host was very hospitable and even went out of his way to come and give directions to the viewpoint. The only thing that the sports lovers in the family missed was a TV to watch the cricket. Everything else was perfect and we had a wonderful stay. Will definitely go again!
It was like heaven on earth.
Leon was great, and the location is beautiful. The Calet is very beautiful and comfortable, there is really a lot to do.
Wonderful creation from God's hand. The stars, view, mountains and wildlife and 4x4 route were amazing. Beautiful unit, comfortable mattress.
Beautiful place! The stars in the evening were amazing. The Kolkol hot tub was surprisingly nice - we should have just got it going earlier in the afternoon (with one bag of wood it was still hot in the morning!). Also rented four wheelers and explored the farm with young children - saw moose and springbok right near us.

Love the view over the valley at sunset, braaing on the gas braai and then jumping into the hot tub under the stars. Not much beats this place.
The host was very welcoming. The cottage was beautifully designed and set up. The only problem was the cold, so we could not enjoy the wonderful outdoor facilities. Fortunately we were only there overnight. We would love to return for a longer stay when the weather is warmer.

We were relocating from KZN to the Cape with our teen and two dogs and spent only one night there. We will definitely go back for a longer stay as it's only three hours from Cape Town. The accommodation is very comfortable with all that you need, offering stunning views from the deck of the beautiful valley. The hot tub was divine. Thank you.

The accommodation is above average for the greater area and the view is difficult to describe. Peace, tranquility, and comfort.
View and activities amazing.
For a family with young kids, they have all the things you need to feed your family and keep them warm. The gas braai was a total surprise and such a great feature because we got there quite late and our kids were hungry! Instant braai, no problem. The location and view are just breathtaking. The bed and the sleeper couch are comfortable. We went during a cold snap and the heater worked great to warm up the house.
Had a great time at Rooilande with wonderful, friendly service. Everything in the chalet is of high quality.
Our host Leon went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely perfect. We only stayed 1 night, so we couldn't take advantage of the outdoor activities like hiking and quad bike rides. A pleasant surprise was the woodfire hot tub next to a breathtaking scenic view, right on our porch. Definitely going back for a longer stay.
Decided not to pop into Matjiesfontein as intended upon arrival as we preferred to stay and enjoy the setting in front of us.
We left the blinds open at night so that we could wake up to that expansive view through the big windows/glass sliding doors. Even the bathroom has a large window to take in the view. It is completely private and quiet.
Service was personal and stunning. The unit was exceptional, and luxurious, and the best sunset views. Will definitely be back one day to spend more time.

Unfortunately, there were constant power outages that prevented us from cooking.
Rooilande is a must to stay overnight. The Chalets are beautifully situated. Overlooking a valley, but the best are the hot tubs. Can't imagine that a bag of wood can heat a tub like that. We got back in the next morning and water was still hot. We felt like very rich people when we sat in the hot tub and looked out over the valley. Thank you, Leon, for your hospitality. We would highly recommend Rooilande, not just for an overnight stay, but for a few days as you can cycle and walk on the farm.
We stayed here on the way down to the Cape. The accommodation is perfect for a family and they also offer a beautiful 4 bedroom guest house for larger groups. There is a lot to do on the farm, so next time we will stay a little longer. The children also enjoyed it very much!
We enjoyed it very much. Place was very clean and tidy. Nice views. We also really enjoyed the 4 wheel motorbikes. Will go again.
