Roos Kothuis aan't See is a self-catering unit located in the coastal town of Vermont, Overberg, making it the ideal place for a peaceful getaway. It is only 300 m from the sea and the seaside path, offering a beautiful view of the sea at the front and the mountain at the back. The house is situated next to a greenbelt and at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, ensuring a tranquil escape.
This double-storey cottage features a fully equipped kitchen, a fireplace, a private braai area, Wi-Fi, and an alarm system.
The downstairs floor comprises 3 double bedrooms. The first bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a shower and offers views of the olive trees and the backyard. An electric blanket is provided during winter for cosy, warm nights, and there is ample closet space. The second bedroom has a double bed, with views of the front garden, also equipped with an electric blanket for winter and plenty of closet space. The third bedroom, the smallest, has two single beds and overlooks the braai area. There is also a separate bathroom with a bath, shared by two of the downstairs bedrooms. Linen, hairdryers, and towels are provided.
The downstairs living area has an open-plan layout. The kitchen is well-equipped with a fridge-freezer, microwave, stove, oven, washing machine, tumble dryer, and dishwasher. The lounge has comfortable couches and chairs, with a cosy wood-burning stove for cold winter evenings. The dining area includes a dining table with seating for 8 guests.
The fourth bedroom is on the top floor, offering a beautiful sea view and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The upstairs living area includes a cosy TV corner and a pyjama lounge area that leads to a balcony with comfortable seating. The balcony boasts stunning views of the greenbelt, Vermont Mountain, and the ocean. To make coffee time easy, there is a coffee and tea station in the upper living area, equipped with a Nespresso machine and an immersion coffee pot.
There is a private braai area behind the house with a dining table for 8. For entertainment, various board games, colouring books for children, as well as paint and brushes, are available. Beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, and baskets are provided for beach outings.
Various restaurants, wine farms, and markets can be visited in the area. There are also numerous hiking and mountain biking trails nearby. The closest beach for swimming is Onrus Beach, known for its Blue Flag status. The Breakfast Bay beach, ideal for picnics, is also close to the house.
The hiking trail along the sea is nearby and runs past the Jan Rabie tidal pool and the Davies tidal pool to Onrus Beach.

The location is excellent, very close to the sea. Could have a nice walk along the footpaths. Everything you need is available in the house.
Wonderful long weekend! Despite fairly miserable weather, we were cosy thanks to underfloor heating and a big closed combustion fireplace, and could enjoy mountain and sea views from the comfort of the house. Thoughtfully designed and equipped, no small detail has been neglected - from chocolates at the bedside to extra wood, firelighters and plenty of warm throws. Sparkling clean and well maintained, kitted out with board games, WiFi and TV - we lacked for nothing. Well positioned within easy distance of Hermanus, Hemel en Aarde and surrounds. Prompt, helpful and friendly communication from the owner. We will definitely be back!
The house is absolutely beautiful. And the view from upstairs is incredible. We enjoyed the indoor fireplace. The kids had loads of fun. The owners were helpful and assisted us at any time with any queries. We will definitely be back.

We were a family with two children and grandparents. The house has everything you need to have a good time and rest, so you literally only have to pack your suitcase and food. The place is ideally located to experience the tranquility of the surroundings, but also close enough if you want to drive out to shops or attractions. The house is very neat and well maintained. We will definitely book here again.

They really thought of everything, from basic coffee / tea, to having an electric frying pan and slow cooker. Stunning views. Close enough to town, but far enough for tranquillity. Perfect for a large family getaway or a few friends. Could use a light outside at the braai.
The whole weekend was incredible. We felt so at home in the beautiful house with its large open spaces. There was everything we needed. Will definitely recommend it and go back with my family again. Ida was also so helpful and friendly with my questions about their beautiful home before and while we were there.
The weekend was very nice at Roos Kothuis. There was more than enough space in the house for the whole family and everyone had a great time on the balcony in the sunshine. Nicely close to the sea and all basic necessities such as towels, swimming towels and more are available. Almost only lockup-and-go place. Alarm system for safety. Delicious outdoor barbecue and fireplace inside. Ample bathrooms for use. We would love to stay there again.

The Rose Cottage was in a great location and the view from the upstairs was sensational.The house had everything one could ask for comfy beds, fireplace, crockery and a lovely homely feeling. The kids loved the rock pools and the lovely nature walk which ran all the way along the beachfront from Vermont to Onrus.

The house was amazing and beautifully furnished. Everything you would need was provided with plenty of crockery and utensils. The house was situated very close to the beach trail that went along the coast and about 10 minutes walk to the small, sandy Vermont beach.
The house is the ideal accommodation for a nice holiday by the sea. It is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay and it is very neat! The area is nice and quiet and it is close to the sea. Will stay there again.
