Comfortable room and a nice bathroom. We were kindly received and the place is beautiful. We had a great time relaxing and hanging out with friends. Ate very well and slept well.
Slept very well. Good clean facilities with great buffet breakfast. Not the cheapest overnight stay, but the quality and luxury say why.
We had a lovely stay except for the one receptionist who came onto shift on our second day. He was rude and unhelpful and when I asked him to help with a situation, he was disdainful and made me feel like I was unwelcome at the establishment. I would recommend the Royal Elephant Hotel and I would recommend that this particular staff member get some training in manners and being polite.
On arrival everyone was friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again.
The rooms we booked were very neat and clean. Value for money.
I was checked into room 125. From 1:30pm to 5:30pm there were non-stop power outages on that side of the hotel. Everyone on duty was aware of this, but didn't know why it was happening (wasn't loadshedding). Along with that, in one of the conference areas, there was a massive function underway with noise so loud that my room's bathroom wall vibrated from it. I called 5 times to complain and nothing was done about it. I put headphones on with music (couldn't hear the TV in my room over the noise) but I could hear the noise through my headphones. At 17:30 I walked down to the client relations desk only to hear the same story again, they know the power trip, but no one brought it to their attention before I came to stand there in person - i.e. 5 calls to reception were not forwarded anywhere? I don't buy it. I was moved to another room on the side of the building where the power does not trip. In this suite, there were used condoms stuffed inside one of the ornaments in the bathroom. Even after "housekeeping" came to clean, it was still there. For what it costs to stay there - ridiculous.
