This is a beautiful old hotel. The rooms were neat and clean. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant's food was of good quality. The bar area was very homely where you could hang out with the town's people. We enjoyed it very much.

The toilet would only half flush so that not all the paper etc would flush away. I had to use the kettle to pour water down the toilet. The hot water was not working, so we had to use the bathroom from another room to shower. This defeated the object of paying more for an en-suite bathroom. These faults should have been checked before we took occupation of the room.
The room is very cold! We had to ask for a little heater to break the worst of the cold. However, the food was excellent. The staff is very helpful. Would not recommend the hotel stay in winter!

The room was very neat and clean. First, there was no one at reception. I literally had to walk to find someone to book in. The lady who helped me was really not very helpful. She grabbed the key and took me to my room, unlocked the door and walked out again. I did not receive a WiFi password. I showered in ice cold water night and morning, no hot water. I made a kettle of hot water for shaving. The noise in the street from a club is deafening. It went on until 2am! The cleaning staff is very friendly. The hotel is very neat, clean and safe. Nice pool and outdoor area.
The environment at the Hotel has its own beauty and with the tranquility and cleanly prepared room it was a time to rest and relax in a safe environment. The dinner and breakfast were far above average - very good and simply delicious. However, would recommend equipping certain rooms with air conditioning. See you again next year.
Willowmore is a noisy place. Rooms are on the main street. I would not sleep there on a weekend or during vacation time. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It is beautifully clean.

Good enough. But it wasn't that quiet. The bar is very noisy in the early evening. The rooms have no heating in the winter but the beds were nice and warm. The feeling of an old hotel is still there.
Rooms are neat and fairly clean. Booked a double room, which we got as 2 single beds pushed together. Duvets are very small and hardly cover you (yes, there was a blanket). Heater in room was a small blower-type heating fan which doesn't work. Shower water was lukewarm while only the hot tap was open. Small duvet and no heater, woke to temp of 6 degrees C. Restaurant big, but cold. Has a fireplace but door left open to cater for takeaway business. Service very slow. No options for vegetarians or vegans.

The Royal Hotel Willowmore is part of SA history. You must spend the night there at least once in your life.
Was very tired when I got there, there was a power cut, which means no shower water, when the power did come on still no water because the pump was not activated. It is very noisy in the evening (maybe I was just not in the right room). Music did not come to silence until after midnight. I will not sleep there again.
Super friendly staff, great stop over. You just need a good meal, clean comfortable bed. We booked a room with our own on suite and it was perfect for us.
We have stayed here before to visit Baviaanskloof. It is an old-type hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable. The food is excellent. The service from Amanda and Lorna is amazing. They are very attentive and friendly. The barman, Darren, was also excellent and attentive.

If I could I would return the meat - toughest ever in our life - was well prepared but tough. Will also put a guard in front of the hotel to keep beggars away from clientele sitting or eating outside on the porch - we were also not told that breakfast was included - we are not complaining but just giving you honest feedback as requested. It is well located for people who want to visit Baviaanskloof. Morning shower there was no hot water until +- 7 am and had to take a cold shower.

For the comfort of a double bed, I can recommend that a thin mattress be placed on top of the two single beds.
No person at reception - had to walk around and finally located a person in the bar who gave me room key. Last I saw the person for the evening. Only guest in the hotel. Room was cold, hot water was cold in shower, no TV or WiFi, no heating in room. Room was next to a noisy bar from the premises next door. Fortunately the bar had to close at 9:00 due to the containment with Covid. On departure the next morning still no one at reception or in the hotel and just left the key at the reception desk and drove away. No offer for dinner, breakfast or any other service in the hotel.
Beautiful old place, with character, just a shame we didn't have bath facilities, at the time of booking there were only two rooms available, one en suite and one without. When checking in, the one bathroom was occupied by the lady who runs the hair salon, asked if there was another bathroom available the lady pointed it out to us, very dirty no toilet paper all afternoon, bath taps could not be turned on and then just ended up showering , which was just as dirty. There is also a pub next door with loud music until late in the evening. Place not suitable for a peaceful overnight stay. Bedding and beds were clean and beautiful.
No water, municipality turns off water at 20:00 in the evening. No one informed me about this.

The hospitality is typical of a village hotel of days gone by. The hotel is clean and tidy and so are the rooms. Friendly service. The only negative comment is the club next to the hotel which only closes very late.
What bothered us terribly were children who took places on horns. The whole time they were screaming and running on the wooden floor, up and down corridors. These were not guests' children. 20:30 that evening they drove then it was quiet. It does not suit such a place at all. Rooms were clean and tidy. Breakfast was not included which was strange.
