Unfortunately we also have some aspects that affected our stay. Our main goal was to rest. Our business is full of noise - trucks, forklifts, etc. We wanted to escape from it. Our Sunday afternoon rest was interrupted with a hack - they started to dig a pool at one of the other units. Monday morning there were "jackhammers". Luckily we were able to escape to the Wildlife Park. We had no forks and we were provided with only one glass. However, the items were provided immediately when we asked for them.
Friendly staff, was unable to sort out our DStv, but offered us a foot message for free the next day. Very poor WiFi connection.
Overall it's a very nice and well appointed place to stay, but the breakfast was ridiculously expensive!
We helped friends with 3 nights of accommodation who came from far away, and had nowhere to sleep for the weekend.
The lodge didn't have adequate water and at times there was dirty water and there was no hot water to bath. It's not tourist-friendly, no information about places of interest or a guide map for the surrounding places to visit.
The place is awesome and I like the free roaming of animals.
Will be a special place once all additions are completed. In a very good location in the park, the premises are neat and clean as well as the facilities that are available.
We booked a guest house, the water gets cold quickly. The water pump behind the house woke me up every morning, annoying.
We were received very kindly. Our unit was very neat! No animals near our unit because you stay on 2nd floor. Only downside is very little light and no water when there is load shedding. Other units do! So book specifically.
The owners did not invest in a generator, even after having loadshedding for over 3 years now, we were in the dark for the most part of our stay and there was a shortage of hot water in our family chalet, there was no restaurant menu even after asking for two days.
I made my reservation through the website I booked the Luxury Chalet for me and my husband, photos were confirmed of what we book and when we got there on Friday there was a double booking for our chalet. The website did not transfer our reservation correctly and the manager booked us into another chalet. Unfortunately we didn't like that chalet very much. With expectations that we really hoped we were going to stay for what we booked, we were a bit unhappy with what happened. Thanks to great service from the lodge staff, we were given a choice to move to another chalet and got a beautiful chalet and our location was absolutely fantastic. All staff members are so helpful, kind and friendly and made an effort all weekend for that little something extra. Can't wait to go back, Dumi and his team should be proud of what they are building, Wonderful people. Was quite sad to go home.

Friendly and helpful staff that go the extra mile to ensure you have a nice stay. They assisted me with a WhatsApp location and made a barrier bed for my 3-year-old. I like the idea of having a private braai and splash pool. Huts are close to one another though, but all in all I think the way it is designed in a way that makes it private.
Very quiet early in the morning and at night you can hear all the animal sounds.

There were many positive things about the stay at the Lodge, but one must first warn that it is not for everyone. It's not suitable for a single traveler who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and maybe want to work in silence. However, it is ideal for a group or family that likes to hang out outside and maybe just want to lounge around the pool. I was in one of the "Luxury Rooms" and with the special offer it was very good value for money. And when I had a problem, the manager, Dumbe, went out of his way to help me.

The lodge needs maintenance. The balcony door cannot be locked and the one shower door does not close.
There was no Wi-Fi as per advert. They say there is, but you have to be close to something that does not actually exist. There is no reception, or staff to welcome you. The cleaning lady welcomed us. Very lovely lady who couldn't answer most of the questions/information we required. The only other person there was a caretaker, that didn't talk to us. There is no restaurant. Nothing. There is a menu, but no restaurant. There is no booklet in the chalet to assist you with contact numbers, or property rules or information about the venue or the area. The pools are dirty. We were moved from the chalet we booked because TV was not working. So we slept in a room we did not book. The showers are broken. Water is either 1000 degrees hot or minus 0 degrees cold. I'm very disappointed and I'll never go back there. Or recommend this place to anyone. The website is not a true reflecting of what you find there. All I can be grateful for is the comfortable bed and clean bedding.
The lodge is within easy reach of Crocodile Bridge entrance gate to KNP - which is one of the reasons we chose it. The only negative was that on the first night we endured a rather lengthy power outage but a torch had been provided and later a paraffin was brought to the chalet. These were very welcome. but If power outages continue to be frequent, perhaps the owners should investigate installing generators. Suffice it to say the positives of our stay vastly outweighed the single negative (which we fully appreciate was not the fault of the lodge) and we would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation.

Reception - funny not right.
Bar fridge for a place won't work - we didn't have room for our meat. You should choose the shower: pour in boiling water or cold water.

Royale Marlothi Safari Lodge's guest house is spacious, tidy and in a beautiful area. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There are lots of crockery in the house, but although there are probably more than 30 tea cups, there is not a single coffee mug! Also only 3 tall glasses and four large plates, although the house sleeps 6. Furthermore, the house is definitely to be recommended.
Very beautiful and if you are looking for silence this is the place.
Would definitely stay there again for a weekend or whatever is available.
This is definitely one of the neatest places we've stayed at in Marloth. The staff were very friendly and everything was neat and clean in the chalets. The private swimming pool on the deck was an absolute bonus. We would book the African Chalet again in the future.

The staff at Royale Marlothi are exceptional people who will do everything in their power to make your stay as pleasant as possible and nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation is beautiful and comfortable and there is a lot of wildlife that visits the lodge which is wonderful. Dumisani and Memory in particular are special people, but every person at the lodge is very friendly and helpful.

The ideal accommodation for a night before going to Wildtuin. For Gautengers who don't get away on Friday afternoon in time to reach another camp in Wildtuin is the ideal! We went home in the Swazi chalet. It is suitable for 4 adult friends but definitely more aimed at a family. This was what was available when we booked. When we got there, Dumi, the manager, immediately saw that we were 4 adults and offered us an open room with a double bed and bathroom for our use at no extra cost. Each chalet also has a small swimming pool for cooling off on hot summer evenings at the barbecue area.
The friendliness and extra care to our comfort was so much appreciated, the place was really cozy, beautiful and just what we needed for a couples weekend. The only problem was the old webs on the ceiling, makes you feel like a big, unwelcome spider is watching you sleep.

Interior decorating of African Chalet wasn't very good - curtains can't open at all.
Our accommodation was really nice. If I can just make one recommendation it would be to up the kitchenware a bit. Impossible to prepare food for 4 people in a miniature pan also no large bowl for braai meat. No bowls for salad. Dumi was really nice and provided a bigger pan. Otherwise our time there was really nice and we felt very safe.
