Very neat, clean and the most beautiful view of the Orange River.
Beautiful surroundings under the Gariep Dam, friendly reception, good barbecue and a great sleep. Very quiet, away from the noise, but also safe.
Great hospitality, would recommend anytime.
There is a nice path to walk and see the sunset over the river. The swimming pool is also quite clean and provides the necessary relaxation after a long day's driving.
Very disappointed in Ruigtevallei Lodge. The accommodation we confirmed with a bath for our baby did not materialize. Regardless of proof of confirmation, the reception informed that the room was already given to other guests. The management was unhelpful and took no responsibility. We have paid a similar amount for other accommodation before and got more. Although Ruigtevallei is not expensive, I do not feel the lodge offers value for money.

Nice location, a bit overgrown by the river, tented camp looks awesome.
We arrived very late but Chane was waiting for us. The lodge's units are very neat and clean. We will definitely stay there again. Very close to the Gariep dam.
Chane and the staff were friendly and helpful and ready for any query. The accommodation is neat and clean and well equipped. I will definitely stay there again in the long run.

Relax and use the swimming pool with a beautiful view in the heat. Rooms and kitchen facilities very neat. Located near Gariep Dam and were able to continue our journey over the embankment. Will choose to stay here again.
Countryside at its best.
The room is neat and comfortable to stay in. The owner received me and explained everything. He also made sure I had access to the wifi connection as I had to finish some emails. The shared living room (where the wifi is) and kitchen are separate from the rooms and although I've seen other guests complain about the wifi connection at the rooms, it worked flawlessly for me. To my eye (I like the Karoo) it is a very beautiful environment where Ruigtevallei is located.

Unit was very neat and clean and perfect for our overnight stay. The pool unfortunately was green and not clean at all. Not like the pictures. The braai packs they sell are also very good. Clean braai grids for each unit are needed though.

The room was fairly comfortable. We paid for breakfast only to be notified on our way there that they were not serving breakfast, but we would be refunded. Still waiting for our refund!

Everything was fine and a nice swimming pool.
We were welcomed upon arrival and taken on a quick tour of the premises. There were no check-in or check-out obligations and we could leave the apartment key in the door and drive when it suited us. The pool was lovely after the hot day and the stars were very beautiful to watch as you floated on the water. The common area was very clean and tidy, just like the apartment, and you can also barbecue outside. Towels were provided and the shower is big enough for 2 people. There are a few restaurants in the area, but De Stijl disappointed us with their service and specific dining times. The lodge is very conveniently located and easy to find with the GPS. Of course, I feel that the amount for one night is a bit excessive, but there is nothing lacking about the place itself. Definitely a good place to stay as a halfway mark between Gauteng and the Cape. Thank you very much for the good service.

Our room was clean and simple. We had a refreshing swim in the pool. A great place to stay on a long drive and a great place to stay on a visit to Gariep Dam.
We enjoyed the lodge. Friendly service, and good value for money. It would have been awesome to have Wifi in the suites. Also, TV in the suites would have been great!

Negative aspect is joint use of kitchen. No fridge in the room. The room and bathroom are neat and clean. More in-room amenities would be appreciated. WiFi only in common area. Cannot be used in room.
The air conditioning was broken and the room uncomfortably hot. No fridge in the room, or drinking water.
