Lovely place to spend the night!
The cottage is very comfortable with beautiful furnishings and some lovely artwork. The garden and surroundings are delightful. The situation is ideal for access to the restaurants on the main road, yet it is so quiet and peaceful.
Rest in De Rust was an absolute fund! We were so pleasantly surprised with the absolutely beautiful house! It has been restored with so much love and care and the decor was done by someone with a fine eye for beautiful things and very good taste! It's a lovely Karoo feel with a modern twist. We enjoyed every moment in De Rust, and our stay was five star! Well done on a lovely oasis where one can just rest!
Beautiful house in a magical Karoo setting in the middle of a small village. Exquisite decoration of the house and traditional/stylish furniture made our stay a pleasure. Everything was there from cutlery, books, paintings, outside/inside braai.
Lovely house in a charming town.
The main house is a lovingly renovated old Karoo house. It lies in einer ruhigen seitenstraße fußläufig zur hauptstraße with its bars and restaurants. For a holiday home, it has an astonishing number of decorative elements. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioner (mainly only in the bedrooms) worked flawlessly. The bath is very spacious and the shower is large. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped. With the exception of the air conditioners, everything is taken care of by a battery system during load-shedding. Even the wifi functioned!

The care, style and flair with which the old lady was brightened speaks from every nook and cranny. And Karin's pride and love made it OUR HOME. The swimming pool and windmill were a wonderful experience, the cool house was wonderful and we could walk around the house with the most amazing view of the mountains. As a bonus is the quiet, neat environment in which the house is located. Thank you very much for this genuine Karoo visit. It was very special.

This gorgeous Victorian house furnished with an eclectic mix of mid-century modern pieces made me want to leave the city forever and just spend my days on the stoep sipping a cold one and asking in the Karoo. This house is thoughtfully renovated and full of old-world charm, yet fully kitted out with all the mod cons that make a weekend gateway all the more special. We appreciated the WiFi and smart TV available during load shedding, as well as the Smeg gas stove, candles and lamps galore. Big shower rose, soft white towels, aircon and beds that you can just sink into. the list of luxuries is long. Our hosts were friendly, welcoming and super organized and made sure that we felt at home. I can highly recommend Rust in de Rust, whose wild vintage lamps stole my heart.
Overall great stay. Very clean and well maintained. Decor was awesome. Could not enjoy the pool, though. Unit toilet is not private.

The apartment initially takes your breath away, so beautiful and luxurious. The user-friendliness was definitely not the focus here. The bathroom has absolutely no privacy. The toilet is so high, installed, extremely uncomfortable. The sink is also almost impossible to use because the height. Although I am 1.65m tall and my husband about 20cm taller, we could hardly use the sink without having everything under water. The hot water is not adjustable and comes in spurts. Ventilation is a problem unless you sleep with the doors open. I was further surprised to receive a bill for cleaning. However, this was stipulated in the house rules which I did not read well; so a big lesson for me.

Karin was in contact with us in advance, even provided wood and ice for our barbecue and dry throats. House was neat and clean with everything we would need. Definitely recommend.
The owners have attended to the finest details making this such a comfortable, lovely stay. No need to eat out, you can cook at the house — the appliances are fantastic, the house has been furnished with great taste and there's even an inverter, so the wifi continues to work during load shedding. There's a great coffee machine and the required filter coffee to use with the machine is provided on the house. Really, book the house, it's wonderful.
Upon our arrival we were greeted by Karen. We were taken through the house, Karen explained everything to us. We will use Rus in de Rust again.

Incredibly beautiful and so stylish. Wow view. Very neat and such a nice atmosphere. Karin made us feel so welcome. It's just really beautiful with the best atmosphere.
My two brats and I spent the night in the beautiful, restored house on our way back to Franschhoek. The yard was nice and big for the brats to play and stretch their legs after a long 7 hour journey on a hot day. The house is nicely furnished, comfortable and the view from the front porch is beautiful. The hostess was incredibly friendly and helpful. Feel free to stay in this gem of a house and town. What a wonderful experience!

The accommodation is very nice and clean and therefore it is to my regret that I have to post the following comment. After a long drive, on a bitterly hot summer day, we discovered on arrival that the swimming pool, which is beautiful blue and full in the photos, is grass green and dirty. We and our children were very disappointed. The woman who received us was not prepared for us either, and still had to prepare the house when we got there. Furthermore, in the afternoon we realized that our room's air conditioning was also not working. The 2nd disappointment. However, it's really a beautiful house and very tidy.
Tastefully decorated home equipped with everything needed. It was cold and rainy so the indoor braai was an added bonus.
We sadly only spent one night at Rus in De Rust, as a weekend getaway, but we will definitely be back again for a longer stay! The most beautifully decorated home, clearly done with so much love and care! The peace and tranquillity and most incredible views reminded me so much of my most cherished childhood days on the farm with my grandparents. Thank you to Deon and Karin for your gracious hospitality! We look forward to our next stay soon!
The house exceeded our expectations. Very comfortable with top class bedding and mattresses. Enormous shower and nice farm kitchen with a stove in the kitchen as well as other modern equipment. Beautiful view from the porch. Excellent customer service.
