Absolutely stunning setting with beautiful views from our room! Accommodation was 5-star and the unit was fully stocked for any self-catering needs (cutlery, crockery, pots, coffee plunger, etc.). Unit was tastefully decorated and again I will come back to the views from the covered patio - green, peaceful and calming for the soul! For the next visit, I'd definitely book longer and make time to just relax more. Only reason for lower score on Cleanliness is because even though our washed dishes were dried and packed away, the refuse bin in the kitchen was not cleared out and toilet paper was not replenished, but other than that, when I asked Lance to check on the gas supply, this was sorted out promptly.
Friendly host and hostess. The unit has a beautiful view of the mountain and the river and everything is spotless. The leather sofas were not comfortable, they may have been worn a bit, but we had such a good time driving around that we didn't spend much time on the sofas. Lovely bedding and the kitchen excellent. Nice and warm, could shower - enough hot water for everyone. Thank you. The place is definitely recommended for an overnight stay.
Lance and Riana are conditionally a formidable team. If you want to get away from the mad rush and stress, Sable Hill is your answer. I would definitely recommend the place!

The only downside to this accommodation is the dirt road you have to travel to get to the guest house. We were not aware of this, and had to drive unprepared on a long road of mud and potholes. Unfortunately, the rain was also a big factor that contributed to this, which was beyond the control of the guest house.
Sable Hill meets all expectations. It is exactly what you see in the pictures. Beautiful buck, canoeing on a picturesque river and cute little deck to relax on.
The perfect "just outside George" place to stay
Will definitely stay there again. Very luxurious, fully furnished, good service and beautiful surroundings. Excellent value for money. We had so much fun relaxing on the porch while watching the springboks and sables. We felt very much at home. Thank you very much. 10/10 for you guys!
