It was good but the WiFi was a problem and the entrance was a problem. Otherwise, everything else was nice.
My stay at Saldanha Bay Inn was okay, but the bathroom in our room was very nice. It's small and has no ventilation, and everything in the bathroom was very tight. There was a smell in the bathroom that was not nice, and the door was also not appropriate, but everything about our stay was nice.
It was sufficient for our requirements of just a place to sleep. The staff on site were very attentive; however, we were not given the code to the gate and had to hoot in front of the gate all the time to get in.
It was peaceful but the weather was extremely hot. There is no air conditioner or a fan in the room. Most times we can shower two to three times a day to cool down. We even prefer staying outside or by the beach than staying in the room.
I had a good stay there. The cleanliness was not 100% up to standard. The WiFi often let us down. Parking is a big problem (the gate's motor was replaced but didn't work 100%, while the other gate couldn't lock/open) - there isn't enough. Kitchen facilities were not tidy. On day 3 we requested to move to a bigger place - I paid the adjustment payment immediately and reported that the stove was there but no gas cylinder - we received the gas cylinder on day 5. We were six guests for the weekend with cutlery for 4 people. The lounge was not open for our use all the time. It is not practical to call the caretaker every time you leave the place and ask to open and close the gate.
The room was not clean, the toilet had big cockroaches, and the bad smell in the bathroom made it impossible to take a shower. The descriptions of rooms on the site were misleading. We booked 2 rooms with 3 beds each for 1 night, yet we only used 1 room because 1 was sufficient for the 4 of us. The TV was not working. There was no mention of WiFi.
The customer service was top notch. Sharon and Ashley were always willing to help us no matter how late in the morning or evening, we really appreciated it. Will definitely visit again for a weekend.
I was impressed with the hospitality of the staff, especially Ashley! Very friendly and efficient. I do however feel, that work could be done on the shower pressure and also provide an emergency light for the visitors, during the loadshedding period. Other than that, I will come again!
The service there is very poor. It is a noise that goes on all night. A visit and the staff do nothing about it.
Saldanha Bay Inn has no facilities it's only for accommodation. There is no pool or any other form of relaxation with very little parking space. It is also far from the beach. Photo's on the website are those of Saldanha Bay Lodge which included photos of their pool.
It was great to hang out there. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend it to anyone who just wants to get away for a bit.

Positive: We booked on short notice and arrived after hours, and the people at Saldanha Bay Inn were nice and accommodating in this regard. The room was clean and tidy and had all necessary facilities including fridge, microwave oven, TV, WiFi, wardrobe, towels and kettle with coffee. Two of the three quarter beds were pushed together with a feather duvet on top to form a larger bed and we slept very well. Negative: No trash cans in the room. The wall plugs were awkwardly located for chargers to get to the bedside tables, the one wall plug between the bed and the bathroom didn't work at all, and the biggest headache was the extractor fan in the bathroom which made a lot of noise (sounded like someone who chainsaw in the shower) if one turned on the light. We showered with cell phone flashlights as lighting because the noise was unbearable (especially if you have a child who also sleeps in the room).
Friendly service from Simba. The place is clean and tidy and safe.

It was a pleasure for me to stay there, but only one thing that just worried me is that the pictures that are advertised are not what the place looked like. Please advertise. real photos of places. I do think it was the other guest house's photos that were advertising. Otherwise, it was a great pleasure for me to clock in there. Next year for sure there again, but please. then I want to stay with the other one that is so well advertised.
It was convenient. The other guests made a lot of noise, but otherwise it was nice to stay there.
Parking was a nightmare. We didn't have a remote for the gate, and had to call every time we drove. Also not enough parking space. Also false advertisement as they advertised a pool on the premises. There was none. We will not go back there again.
Water pressure of the shower was bad, once one of the other units showered the pressure dropped in our room. Tiles of the shower floor was sharp and hurt my feet. Cockroaches in the unit, household cockroaches and not drain cockroaches. Parking was a nightmare on the premises when all units are booked out. I was woken up after 5am to move my vehicle so that people checking out could leave. One gate on the premises had to be operated manually, push open and closed to leave the premises. Otherwise the staff was friendly, efficient and helpful.
We were there for a Judo tournament as was located conveniently close to the venue. The accommodation was clean and the attendant Brad who was there during our stay was very friendly. The shower head was not very good and whistled and sputtered. There was coffee and tea in the room but no cups. But there was a kitchen we were allowed to use. There was no paper bin in the room only a very small one in the bathroom for sanitary towels.
They should please just be clear with the amenities that are available.
Chaotic, manager does not answer phone, not even the upgrade will convince me to stay will this place again! Staff treated like crap. Some visitors played loud music in the morning when we checked out, the one chap got very cocky when I took him on about the loud music! The manager is nowhere to deal with queries, poor staff need to deal with all the issues!
Dirty, stained bedding.
For example, we are used to a room with drinking water, 2 plates, 2 spoons and a knife. The accommodation was advertised with WiFi and I expected to get the code without asking for it. But I had to ask for the lady to give it to me. The lady was so nice, but if you cannot upgrade with the small things I just mentioned, I understand it's self-catering accommodation but does that mean we must also bring the plates, forks, spoons of our own? Hope you will understand where I'm coming from because I'm used to self-catering with all these things in our rooms. Thanks. Josephine.
Little parking and the environment was just a little scary.
The cleaning lady that works at the premises is very friendly, and helped us out with requests to the best of her ability. We got a surprise in the bathroom. When we switched on the vents in the bathroom there were huge cockroaches in the shower.
The place was absolutely dirty and infested with spiders among other crawling creatures due to the lack of cleanliness. My son got bitten all over. This place is suitable for backpackers or single people, not family-friendly and its something they should state clearly. I don't think they have much customer care experience, because the services were very poor thou the cleaners on site tried their best, this place is very untidy, very dirty not cleaned thoroughly and the management was never available to assist, we had no option but to compete our stay due to the extra we paid, we didn't even spend our days there we left every morning and returned late at night to sleep.
The place smelled, and there were no chairs for us to sit on or a proper stove to cook. Just a 2 plate stove with no oven. We booked and paid for 4 adults, but had utensils for 2 people. There was no running water in the kitchen and we had to collect water from a filthy, stinking bathroom. The helper could only speak Afrikaans, in 2022. We couldn't wait to check out. We left without bathing. There are no words to describe this horror of a place.
There are no exterior photos, for good reason. Don't have your own gate remote, you have to call every time. The cars all park close to each other (no space) space in rooms is small etc.
The place was very clean and tidy. The beds slept well. Shops were within walking distance. Tip: air conditioning please.

Was just nice and quiet and the beds are so nice and the bedding is white and crisp. Definitely value for money. Lots of space literally at all the shops and the beach. Staff is very cute and friendly. Dstv and everything. The WiFi didn't work but the WiFi people were there to sort it out. Was very nice and private.
The lady who received us was very friendly. It's a peaceful atmosphere and the place is neat, clean, there were guests who were drunk at 2 in the morning and talked a bit loudly, but it wasn't a big disturbance.
We thought there would be a pool for kids to enjoy. It's not what we saw on the photos, but otherwise okay.
I was initially told that I had been upgraded to the Lodge in Saldanha. To my dismay, I had to discover that the Lodge was still under construction, which I had not been informed of. I have a limping leg and had to walk several sets of stairs to severe discomfort. I was also not aware that these were shared / open facilities and had to share a kitchen with other guests. It was supposed to be a getaway weekend alone with my wife for our wedding anniversary.
Will not stay there again or recommend to friends. There were more people in the next room than there were beds. The loud talking and visiting was very unpleasant and continued late and resumed again at half past six. The sheets on the bed were torn and further torn during the night - very noisy. The lamps next to the bed were loose and the power supply was constantly interrupted so I think there is something wrong with the plugs. The bathroom door could not close completely. The beds on the other hand were very firm and everything was clean and the shower was very nice and strong. We were just looking for an overnight place and thought it was value for money but with a little effort they could make it more recommendable.
One big disappointment. Want to forget the experience as soon as possible.

The reception was not what I expected, but the lady there helped us with everything. Walking into each room was breathtaking..Would like to spend the night there again.
Besides the confusion of Saldanah Bay Inn and the Lodge, we have no complaints. We understood that it was a project under construction/renovation, so we were patient with some challenges. It includes the toilet door that cannot close, drip of the geyser in toilet and the loose soil causing dust on clothing/washing when vehicles drive in or out of yard. Lastly, we enjoyed meeting the owners and chat with brother Eddie was welcome.

Gates faulty and in the way. Shared kitchen not convenient. Cleanliness of unit could improve. Parking inconvenient. Hospitality is lacking. Never met owner. No information about eating and places to visit.
First the room looked different as advertised on the website. The bed and pillows was the only thing that I liked about our say at the Inn. The host wasn't very friendly. The hot water was a bit of a frustration as we had to take cold showers more than once. Also our first night was weird as it sounded like people screaming in one of the other rooms.
It was not at all what I expected. They will have to advertise their units better so that people know exactly what to receive. It's very misleading. Parking also a big problem because it is very limited. The staff with the owner are very unprofessional. If I could have found another place on the first day of my arrival, I would have gone out immediately. I did not sleep there for the last three nights and therefore lost my money. It's definitely not value for money.

Was disappointed because the photos are misleading. The place reminds of a backpackers. Paid the deposit which we lost because we couldn't face staying there. We had to find alternative accommodation in a rush. On arrival the painter was still busy painting and cement bags and empty paint tins were still lying around. The one bed in the dormitory wasn't made. There is definitely not enough parking if all of the rooms are full.
Not easy to know if this was the right place. Staff (Simba) was very helpful and friendly.
We enjoyed a pleasant stay. Sufficient space to keep our 1 year old occupied. Very comfortable and the lawn was a bonus for the little one. Value for money!
As mentioned, there is room for improvement. The curtains are a bit thin, especially in the morning with the sharp sun filtering through. The sofa in the living room has to be replaced and curtains are needed in the kitchen. The shower in the main bedroom needs some attention and a some kind of screen needs to be installed to avoid spillage. The door at the bottom of the stairs, which leads to the upper apartment, urgently needs a lock.
The bathroom (or should I say the toilet) had no door. The shower was inside the bedroom without doors. We were moved to a room with single beds. The bathroom didn't even have towel rails, so I'm not even talking about towels. There was a common kitchen and dining room that was occupied all weekend by drunk guests who sat there drinking the whole time.
The 'Lodge' offers only/barely basic amenities, ie. bed and shower. Breakfast, towels, kettle, shower mat, curtain or flat sheet are not provided. It's also a strange set-up with a foreigner and a suspicious dog acting as a caretaker there, no nameplate and terribly large steel gates. There is not enough parking for the guests and when people arrive at 2/3 o'clock in the morning everyone wakes up from the noise. It's probably not too bad value for money given the season, but it should be made more clear in their advertisement on this page about what is actually on offer.
