A shopping centre, bars and restaurants are in close proximity, some within walking distance!
Guests have exclusive access to the swimming pool.
The famous West Coast National park, which is visited by travellers during the flowering season in spring, is close to Melkbosstrand. The Koeberg Nature Reserve has hiking trials and cycling is also permitted.
During whale season, guests can look at these magnificent creatures from the deck or balconies.
We also have several qualified tour guides from which guests can choose for tailor-made.

Dirk gave us a friendly welcome at the door, showed us where everything is. We took a walk to the beach and encountered very friendly people, and it's near the restaurants & shops. We had an awesome stay and will definitely go back in winter for the cozy and romantic vibe for a couple. It is exactly as shown on the website. A very clean place and the room looked amazing. The location, host, staff and breakfast were amazing. I would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat. My only small gripe as an ex cabinet maker and avid handyman is some of the fit and finish could do with a little work, like taps that don't turn nicely and cupboard hinges that need fixing. But I am absolutely obsessive about that sort of thing.

Definitely worth the money. The room is bright and clean, blocks out all light when curtains are closed, but can do with some attention to detail. The bed and pillows are not good for one's back, which makes sleeping awkward and unpleasant. Breakfast was well-prepared. Staff are attentive and friendly.
Not a good view for disabled visitors; the building on the West side obstructs the view. Would like to visit again though. Perhaps a one-person lift could be considered.
The accommodation is old and clearly in need of an upgrade. It seems asif the owner is not involved and there are basic things that are overlooked. For instance, the bin in the bathroom is rusted. The shower rose is dirty and has scale build-up. Some of the wall sockets don't work. Also, the rooms are not sound insulated.
It's our very first getaway to Melkbosstrand. We were kindly received. The room itself is quite large and the sea view was beautiful. Our breakfast was made with great care and was tasty. Dirk is friendly and makes you feel immediately at home. Great getaway spot for a short or long time!

Everything was handled professionally and communication was clear. All queries have been fully answered. We were moved to the upper floor because the floor below currently has long-term guests. This was not a problem, room 1 upstairs only has a particularly small bathroom. All facilities were there as mentioned. Parking is convenient, but not within a security fence.
The rooms' furniture needs some upgrading. Dirk's kindness, helpfulness and hospitality make up for everything. His breakfast is off the books. Thank you very much, Dirk, we had a great stay.

The guest house has potential, but needs renovation and maintenance. Virtually everything shows signs of deterioration. The building itself and also the furniture. The room is neat, but there is nothing special in it, as is the balcony. Two lone chairs standing there, also quite old. There is no shampoo or shower gel in the bathroom. There is no two point plug in room. For R1 500 which is the original price, one expects more.

The establishment should for sure be used by anyone traveling in the Cape area, for business or leisure.
The location is great and there is a lot to do.
It was truly a "home away from home" experience this weekend. It was nice and cold and wet and we had a great time hanging around the fireplace with the other guests and owners. We haven't encountered so much hospitality in a long time. Thank you very much for the tasty meals served. Nothing was too much trouble.

Minor issues were no soap in the bathroom, fitted sheet too small for the double bed and rustic interior of the outside room. Breakfasts were great! The hosts are very hospitable and was willing to upgrade us for free Friday night, although we declined this, as we had to move again for Saturday night. We would like to know more about the area. I think the hosts should know about and advertise Kwa tu!! which is a few km away. We went there and thoroughly enjoyed it. We did get advice regarding eating places. Damhuis is gorgeous.

Very clean and tidy. Just relax, unwind and enjoy. We would recommend Sandcastle B&B to adult holidaymakers individuals, couples, adult groups, or even families with teenagers. It is also very ideal for business travelers. The hostess and staff are very pleasant and competent in their duties. It is a house with a light welcoming atmosphere. Although it is not located on the sea front, you can hear the sea and you are walking distance from the beach. Parking is on the pavement but the neighborhood appears peaceful and we are assured that there is little to no crime. We will definitely stay there again.

All indoor venues of the property are non-smoking. Guests wishing to smoke may do so at the cigarette bins in the designated area. The Sandcastle Guesthouse will charge an additional amount for the cleaning of the room and loss of business for 24 hours after the Guest has departed to clear any room of smoke before re-letting to a non-smoking Guest. Should the non-smoking policy not be adhered to a fine will be payable immediately apart from extra cleaning- or loss of business charges.

Description
This family unit on the ground floor boasts a pool view. This unit features two rooms connected by a passage. There is one shared bathroom between the two bedrooms. Both bedrooms are serviced daily. Free Wi-Fi is available. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, bath, washbasin and toilet. The one bedroom has a queen-size bed, air-conditioning, DStv, coffee and tea-making facilities with a mini fridge and an office desk. The other bedroom has a single bed, Smart TV with Netflix, a wardrobe and a bedside table with a lamp. There is also a sliding door to access the swimming pool and garden area. Guests will also have access to the dining room area and sun lounge area.
The house is very close to the beach and our balconies and sun deck have spectacular views of the Melkbos beach, Atlantic ocean, Table Mountain and Robben Island.
Our rooms are en suite and equipped with air conditioners, television, digital safe, internet access and complimentary tea/coffee.
From our two sea facing rooms, the balconies offer beach views. Each room is given one set of linen and a set of towels per person as well as guest amenities.
The rooms and house are serviced daily.
A shopping centre, bars and restaurants are in close proximity, some within walking distance!
Guests have exclusive access to the swimming pool.
The famous West Coast National park, which is visited by travellers during the flowering season in spring, is close to Melkbosstrand. The Koeberg Nature Reserve has hiking trials and cycling is also permitted.
During whale season, guests can look at these magnificent creatures from the deck or balconies.
We also have several qualified tour guides from which guests can choose for tailor-made.
Surfing, standing-up-paddling, kite-surfing, wind sailing, kayaking and fishing are popular activities in and around Melkbosstrand. There is a skydiving club close to town. They offer solo tandem jumps. We can also help to book a surfing course should you be interested.
