Located in a very noisy street opposite a small taxi rank. Hobos sleep across the street.
It served the purpose for which we needed it, namely to sleep right there. A little noisy on the wooden floors and stairs, as other guests move in and out. Nevertheless, we had a nice stay and slept comfortably. Have a nice shower.
Clean, safe and suitable for overnight stays. Johan and team were always available and always went the extra mile. Location is not the best but met our needs. For such an old home it is really in excellent condition, and is well maintained and managed.

Beautiful place to stay, but unfortunately there are surrounding places that are very noisy until the early hours of the morning. It was once again a nice experience. It was peaceful and we had a great time relaxing. The management team make you feel very welcome and at home and were also pleasant company. Johan, the owner made sure every day that we lacked nothing. Would recommend Sandstone Manor anytime to guests wanting to visit Mossel Bay. A beautiful view of the calm waters of the bay.

The house must have seen a lot in 125 years. Well taken care of and still sturdy.
New, bigger towels please. Also need a bigger bin please. Access to a small kitchen station upstairs (microwave and dining) would be nice.
Definitely a stop for anyone looking to stay in a rich, historic part of Mossel Bay - fantastic view of the harbor and sea!
Was very satisfied with our stay. The owner was very helpful and friendly and the room was equipped. Good quality bedding and towels. Enough coffee, tea etc. We were able to park our car next to the building, safely off the street. Maybe just a small suggestion: what about small guest soap at the sink for guests who are only staying for 1 or 2 days? Many thanks to the owner for the suggestion to drive the R62 on our way to Cape Town. It was worth it! Really enjoyed it and will definitely stay there again.
We really slept well and enjoyed the place. Everything was clean and tidy and Johan had a nice chat with us. Will definitely visit again!

The room comes without water bottles - only tap water and for such an old building it does not taste pleasant. Although the owner was pleasant and helpful it is very basic. Very standard coffee, sugar and milk powder sachets. You have to take your own coffee, milk and water with you, which was a shame. The view is very nice and the noise of the city is a bit disturbing, but what can one expect when you get housing in the city?
The toilet bowl's water was dripping all night and we couldn't sleep because of the noise, because guests on the top floor are up and down all night and with the wooden floors it sounds terribly loud.
Cupboard shelf was hanging on its side and very dirty inside cupboard. No view just a wall which made it difficult to keep a eye on our vehicle. It looks like the place is run by a man. No woman present. Only two satchels of coffee and enough milk for the two cups we had that night. We did not have coffee in the morning and if they served breakfast we would not have eaten in that place. We left as soon as we woke up. The inside of the shower door was full of dried soap and dirt. Very Very disappointed. Cups had to be washed in the handbasin. Not very hygienic.
Hearty welcome by the owner. It was clean safe and can definitely recommend it. We will be back for sure.

Precious place with friendly host, very good price and best place near everything with full support like WiFi, kitchen, TV and timely clean beds. Parking is safe and the host is pleasant. Our stay was peaceful and the atmosphere was good. Facilities in a good condition.
