Everything you need for a comfortable overnight destination. The heater and electric blanket are a real plus for the cold winter evenings. The units themselves are very secure, but there is no fencing around the property.
The unit is spacious with a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable bedroom and good braai facilities. The gas geyser didn't work well, but maybe it was just us not knowing how to work with a gas geyser.

We were able to check in earlier which is the time which was a big plus. The reception was really great. Wood flash is a bonus. Everything inside the apartment is 100%. Only one bad point is the large house car park by the master bedroom of the apartment.

The swimming pool was cleaned daily and was a welcome refresher for hot days. The braai areas and grills were cleaned daily and wood and firelighters were also provided and topped up as required. The hosts checked in with us daily to confirm that everything was up to standard. The little kids enjoyed the jungle gum area. The garden and grass area were very well kept and allowed for tranquil evenings. A generator was powered up during the load-shedding slots which were additional benefits- so we were never without power despite ongoing load shedding in the area during the time we stayed there. All in all our stay was extremely pleasant and very comfortable.

We have never explored Barrydale before for accommodation. Sandy's Place was like being at home but just in another town. It was a very short, but most pleasant stay. The accommodation was clean and neat with that warm feeling of being at your own home.

The hostess is very hospitable and is willing to go the extra mile for an extra person. She did not hesitate to help us with 2 rooms with 1 bath and a shower - especially for me, my sister and my 87-year-old mother. The service is really great and we received the same service 7 years ago.
A very comfortable 2 bedroom house with all the necessary amenities you could want. The braai area/veranda was very spacious with lots of comfy chairs.

Sterna was very helpful and friendly. We booked the smaller unit but she then upgraded us to the larger unit because we were staying for 3 days. Delicious barbecue and wood is provided. Truly a place to recommend.
I would only recommend that they update the bed in the room where we slept with a new mattress because the current one dips in the middle and thus you are almost lying on top of each other.

Johan and Sterna are wonderful, hospitable owners. With the cold weather they upgraded us to a unit where we were more protected from the wind and rain for our evening barbecue. Had nice winter sheets and electric blanket on the bed. Full Premium DStv. Heater, well equipped kitchen, comfortable living room.
We ended our unplanned Karoo tour here in Barrydale's absolute tranquility. The accommodation offered by Sandy's Place's owners is very neat, peaceful and private. The units contain everything you need and it feels like your own home.
The staff were very helpful and coffee and milk were provided. The only bad thing was the dog that was barking during the night and woke me up a few times.

My parents and I had a great stay at Sandy's Place. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The large bath in the unit was a bonus. As coffee lover we would've loved a plunger for filter coffee. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience.
Owners very friendly. Room slept 3 but really too small for extra single bed. Bathroom very clean and roomy. Unit 6 was next to entry to swimming pool, so no privacy in summer. Could have done with easy chairs, but no room. Location on main entry to Barrydale so noisy and busy all night.

Sandy's Place is conveniently located on the R62 with open lawn in front of the unit which offers a sense of space. Will definitely use Sandy's Place again.

There was a stove with an oven!
For a business trip this is exactly what I was looking for. You park right in front of your unit. The unit is equipped with everything you need. Even a little patio with a braai if you want to have a bbq (unfortunely the weather didn't permit it). Friendly reception by the owners and they paid me a visit the next morning to make sure everything was in order. Will book again anytime.

I was hospitably received. The room and other facilities were clean and tidy. Everything in the unit was in working order. Water in the shower was deliciously hot. I felt safe walking around outside and leaving my car in front of the door.

We walked around calmly without any anxiety. We visited the backpacker lodges to have something to drink and eat and received friendly and kind service there. We were also at Diesel and Creme, a wonderful experience!

It was one of the most amazing places I have been too. I was surrounded by the most beautiful scenery. I welcomed all the peace and quiet especially for me that comes from the city. I had the most fantastic stay and it felt like I was at home. I must say the room that we vacated was beautiful and it looked very modern.

Plenty of room for the 4 of us - there were 2 bedrooms and 2 additional beds in the living room. There was a nice big table outside to enjoy our braai. One big thing though - GET SOME WINDOW SCREENS. We were eaten alive by mosquitos during the night!

The unit I stayed in was very comfortable and well equipped. The lack of a TV in the bedroom was either good or not so good, got plenty of rest before I left again. The offer from the owners to park my motorbike safely and dry in their garage was much appreciated. However, places to eat in town were disappointing.

All the units are fully equipped, 3 star graded and really comfortable. All of them have a TV with 6 channels. All the kitchens are equipped with a microwave, fridge, two plate stove and oven. All the units have braai facilities, wood and grid provided in each unit. All the beds are equipped with all the linen as well as electric blankets. There are also wall heaters for extra warmth.
