198 guests' feedbackLoved seeing the giraffes basically on my doorstep. Fantastic stay.
Locations very central. Accommodation neat and view from room top notch. Staff helpful and assisted with our requests.
Good. Never had a problem except for low WiFi connection.
Our stay was very pleasant. We definitely enjoyed it.
It is always wonderful to stay overnight at Sangiro Lodge. Wish we could have stayed longer! The accommodation is clean and tidy and conveniently close to the animals. It was nice to see the giraffes so close. The accommodation is well equipped and we had a nice barbecue. That's a nice place!
Advance communication and welcome on reception was good. The peaceful natural location near the N1 is perfect for an overnight stay or even for a longer period. The self-catering unit was neat and clean with a beautiful view and perfectly furnished for 4 people. There was everything we needed, as well as secure parking.
Friendly reception, room clean and tidy. Brought our dinner and breakfast to the room, which was very convenient. Location is also very easy to find.
Convenient location, especially if Bloem is just a pit stop for you. Nice breakfast and all kinds of interesting animals to entertain you. Friendly and professional staff, clean and tidy rooms.
Short overnight stop conveniently just a few hundred metres off the N1. Maintenance could have been better; a light didn't work in the bathroom, and the fridge was so frosted up that it didn't cool anything, let alone freeze anything.
No issue, just TV DStv was not working.
Very nice stay. The air conditioner kept us warm. Feel uncomfortable with no access control. Living room chairs are terribly uncomfortable. The house is always nicely cleaned.
Just a quick overnight stay, comfortable accommodation near N1.
Unit tidy, basic, clean. Very dark furniture and cement floors. Comfortable bed. Hot water. Nice shower.
Very nice stay, thank you very much.
Slept very well. The suite is spacious and very tidy. Only lacks WiFi. The llamas are too cute.
Aircon didn't work and TV with DSTV didn't work either. I did check in at reception.
Was a bit worried after reading the reviews but we really couldn't complain. Our place was tidy and was cleaned every day, also received clean towels every day. Staff were all friendly and very helpful. Ants are a big problem though. Fortunately, my wife always packs doom.
We slept wonderfully warm on a cold Free State night. However, we were very concerned about the lack of security measures. There used to be a guard at the entrance, but not anymore. Anyone can just drive in there. And so on the main road we thought it was extremely irresponsible.
Slept and stayed great but couldn't take a shower that night because there was no water. I was disappointed after a hot day and a long journey, and had to get into dirty beds. There is also an ant problem; you can't leave anything in the kitchen, otherwise everything is full of ants.
Of the nearly 12 places I have booked through you since March in various places in the country, this was the biggest disappointment. Here are some of the things that bothered: No plates or cutlery (I was able to get them from reception); no Wi-Fi; all the cold water taps struggle to close without leaking; mattress is already hollowed out; towels were very old and washed out and one even had a hole in it; door lock was very problematic, I could only lock the door after a lot of struggle, decor is not matching, good living room sofa, but cheapest coffee table and works of art; paint spots everywhere on window frames; no security; anyone can drive/walk all the way from the street. Mercifully, I received 2x discounts for this so-called honeymoon suite (rewards level 2 plus a R300 voucher). But even then, I've slept in nicer places for cheaper (without discounts) during the past few months.
Did not sleep, felt itchy in unit, it did not look very clean on arrival and there were ants all over in the kitchen. Little bugs on the bed. It was terrible.
Our stay was disappointing. Our unit's air conditioner was out of order, the blinds were broken and neglected. The bathroom and shower floor is rotting and poses a health and safety risk. Clearly maintenance is not a priority.
Beds are nice. Boilers' wires were melted. No teaspoons, only three of each in one house. Gates are open tern N1 with no security.
It seems the developer went bankrupt before they could even finish. Place was not properly cleaned, no mats or any floor covering, only half-assed colored cement. Water pressure is not there. Floors are skewed, so everything is crooked. No WiFi, only certain areas had it. Really in 2024 and you still don't know how?
I feel incredibly rested and relaxed. I will definitely go back again.
Clean, peaceful environment. Staff pleasant and extremely competent.
Very pleasant. Breakfast was delicious. We saw a lot of wildlife.
The cabins are very private and located against the wildlife line.
Definitely recommend it. Value for money.
Absolutely love the animals roaming around freely on the grounds, though didn't see any wild animals.
Clean and tidy. All the facilities needed for a peaceful overnight stay.
Safe and reliable to sleep over here.
Good reception, close to the N1.
Location near beautiful mall and near several venues. Calm atmosphere. Chalet 10 may benefit from a set of cutlery (plate, bowl, knife fork and spoon). It's not a self-catering unit, but the fridge and microwave lend itself to reheating purchased dishes. Surely it can be washed together with the coffee cups and glasses if used? Otherwise, the chalet could well be advertised as a unit where the guests have to bring their own picnic basket cutlery - because there is a braai area and sink available. The faucets at the sink closest to the window are difficult to close once they are turned on. The chest of drawers by the bed needs some work.
The beauty of the place can be improved. Dusty, spidery shelves indicate that only basic cleaning is performed. Shower not cleaned properly. The stay was comfortable.
The room was clean and neat with all the basics. While we were in a "self-catering room" with a braai area, there were no braai implements. Fortunately, we were prepared and could make a plan, but other visitors should be advised.
Value for money and recommendable.
Was just a quick sleepover. So we did not explore and utilize all the facilities.
We were very happy with the stay, just a little concerned about security as the gate was not manned or locked at night.
We arrived after 18:00 and only slept over.
The lodge sits right next to the N1 and if you sit outside at night it's just the rumble of lorries. The rooms are clean and tidy. Very convenient if you want to sleep over on the way to your destination. There is wildlife, but you don't really see or hear it. Didn't get a chance to taste the breakfast, but it looked delicious.
Cottage comfortable, very basic equipped in kitchen but had everything that was needed. Central heating big bonus for cold.
It was a basic room but I was impressed with the high quality hair dryer available in the room.
Close to the highway and food court at the mall.
Great space, didn't see any wildlife. The cleaning could improve; there were spiderwebs, dust, and dirt in the chalet.
Place was excellent and enjoyable for staying. I am not sure about the safety because its entrance has no security monitoring for travelers' cars. Sangiro place is value for money.
Sangiro was only an overnight stop and we were positively impressed. We slept in the "Bachelor" units. We were able to park at the door, and the place was very clean, tidy and looked new. Would recommend for overnight stay. It's a stone's throw from the N1 and we picked up pizza from Ultra City.
Had a great stay but there were a few things that bothered me. Cleanliness outside, pieces of glass lying around the porch. Trash with flies is a problem. Inside: needs a makeover and somewhere there is an earth leak, because when you take a shower, the open and close shocks you.
No complaints, the accommodation was clean and tidy.
The place was perfect for us and the 2 children. The animals are wonderful. Was just a busy night around us with people partying.
Would prefer the bathrooms to be upgraded, doesn't feel clean.
The accommodation is in dire need of upgrading and the cigarette butts everywhere are awful. The peacocks that are on the site not only disturb when you sleep with their screams, but they waste everywhere, which is definitely not hygienic. A great pity!
Accommodation is substandard.
No pool. No ice. No wood. No WiFi. Fridge was dirty. Cigarette butt outside by the braai. Shower head was not working properly.
The accommodation was overpriced for what one receives.
On arrival the reception lady is very unfit and curt. Not clean at all, cupboards inside dirty, carpet, floor and sofas dirty. Two wine glasses for four people to drink out. No hot water. Waited two hours for a solution. Water flows from rain run into the house. Vehicle must be parked in the mud.
We travelled from Cape Town to Tzaneen so it is right in the middle. must say this is a great place to stay also they have 24 hours open at reception so no worries about leaving early or coming late. and the place is some of the best we stayed in will definitely be back. and a bonus is the wildlife wandering around the place.
Wonderful. Quiet, beautiful view.
Neat unit with comfortable beds and good quality linen. A bit far from restaurants - but nice for self-catering. Interesting animals that come to visit - Lamas and Angora goats.
The animals are a good attraction if you are tired from driving.
Pleasant stay.
See stars.
Exceeded our expectations. Children really enjoyed the tame animals. Beds sleep like a dream.
The perfect overnight stop. All you need is a swimming pool and you can have a holiday there too. All and all great place!
Slept well, beds and bedding clean. Overall nice stay. Maintenance can be done on some items.
The unit is small, not much room to move between the beds. It is very clean and tidy, comfortable beds, good quality bedding and pillows, enough towels. A pool on site would have been a plus.
All I would ask is day the scaffolding is looked at. The person in 4A's movements rocked the whole structure. Feeling like being on the ocean.
Friendly staff. Quiet environment. Animals beautiful.
Great stop over for travellers on the N1.
The unit is very neat and clean, there are many animals that roam freely between units. The game camp is almost against the unit and the giraffe (found out his name is Seun) posed nicely for photos.
The shower continued to drip after I took a shower, when I spoke to the staff about it, they moved me to another chalet just like that.
I would ask that the unit be cleaned a little nicer. Especially bathrooms and it looked like some of the beds were not cleanly covered. Towels are also very, very old.
We like the silence!
Was in no 1 double unit (family cabin). Very quiet and can see animals from the porch especially late afternoon. All problems we encountered was the cold water faucet at sink had no head, could not use. Our reservation was for three people and the glasses and the mugs there were only two of each.
See stars.
The animals and tranquility were incredible and the houses are damn cute. Unfortunately we only had 1 of each and had to walk all the way to reception to collect it ourselves.
Reception not very friendly, but place was clean and close to the N1.
Was booked in at no 3. Next to us at no 2 was a GTI club party where the 20 or so people watched all night long to see whose sound system could play the loudest as they screamed, shouted and danced around the cars and then raced up and down the resort. I could not address them. There was no security.
The location is excellent and we enjoyed the wild animals, but the house is poorly equipped and no attention is paid to detail - for example, there was no shower mat and the floor was soaked after someone showered. We booked for 5 people but only had 2 towels and 4 knives and 4 forks. There were no dish cloths to take hot food out of the oven or any other drying cloth to use for that. Also no cloth to wipe down surfaces or a salad bowl for salad. The place has potential to be a great overnight stay, but unfortunately our experience was not to our liking.
The cottage definitely needs attention. Stairs are rotten and feel like they might give way. Inside, the unit definitely needs renovation. The bar fridge on the floor is extremely uncomfortable. A table or worksheet will certainly help a lot. Shower walls are full of mold at the top. Faucets leak.
The place was in desperate need of maintenance. From the stairs to the patio. The bathroom was full of mould and the toilet seat was completely broken. When getting in and out of the shower it pulled away from the wall. I do not believe the chalet would pass a health and safety check.
The peacocks and goats just walk between the houses. Very calm. Thank goodness for air conditioning in the units as it was very hot. 10 minutes drive to Navil hill. Quiet place to stay overnight.
Sangiro is perfect for a quick overnight stop. The maintenance has been left a bit behind. The TV room's sofas are frayed and the ceiling is cracked.
Very nice and tidy place.
Very nice Location perfect. Near Mall. Safe.
Customer service good. Beautiful house with everything you need. The animals are an absolute hit. Dearest donkeys and giraffe. Sheep just come to visit.
Very peaceful surroundings, comfortable accommodation and braai area. Children play wonderfully on the grass and enjoy cycling and viewing animals.
Wonderful and peaceful. Value for money.
We were received very kindly. The log house was very clean and tidy. It was lovely to watch all the cattle and goats. We were a little far from the fence to see the wildlife, but it didn't matter. The air conditioner in the room made a bit of noise when we turned it on, but it wasn't really necessary either as there was a lovely breeze through the unit when we opened the windows and doors. Thank you very much for a lovely, peaceful overnight stay. We will definitely visit you again when we pass by. I highly recommend your place.
Very good location located. Nice to look at the animals near the house. Had a nice stay after a long line.
We stayed over after attending my cousin's wedding, the room was very nice and the beds were very comfortable. It was also nice to be able to see the wildlife from our porch. Will definitely stay here again.
Out of the city, animals that roam free and very clean and tidy! I would definitely recommend it.
Conveniently located. Clean and tidy. Friendly reception and beautiful surroundings.
Very nice view. Very still and peaceful if you are looking for a break.
The log cabin was excellent with a nice view. The bed was very comfortable.
2 minutes from N1, 5 minutes from shopping centre. In the middle of nature.
Nice peaceful farm atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious and the service was friendly.
We spent 1 night there. The unit is not very big but was big enough for 2 adults and 2 young children. It was neat, clean and comfortable.
Perfect for our overnight needs with plenty of room for kids to run around. Sheep, llamas and peacocks roaming freely between houses and then the many wild animals just a few meters from our porch were fantastic. Also so close to the highway and Shell Garage. The cottage was fully and modernly equipped and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely stay there again.
The units are spaced far apart for privacy. Lovely view from the balcony. In our particular unit, the toilet is leaking at the back, no hot water at the sink. The bath's cold water struggles to close.
Excellent, friendly service. Clean, safe environment. Friendly, professional staff.
Near highway. Unit is private.
The giraffes were a treat.
Unfortunately, there were many stumps, beer bottle caps and chopped bones lying around in the parking and braai area of chalet no 7. Cleaners can address this aspect. Chairs and table were also full of dust. No dish soap available in unit. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay with especially the giraffes that came to visit.
Peaceful woodland feel.
Clean. Tidy. Helpful.
The images on the web create a better impression than what we experienced. We stayed two days. Unit quite tidy but lacks finer finishing, towels and tea towels not delivered until later after phone call. No pan to even bake in egg. There are animals, but really only at a distance.
The unit was clean and modern. The beds were comfortable and there was DSTV. The bathroom was also good although no hand wash so we had to go buy. The TV was mounted a bit high on the wall and there was no sugar in the kitchen. Also the service lady entered our room with no mask on, upon which I kindly asked her to please leave the room. If you like animals then you could enjoy this place, they do get noisy.
Visit the Women's and War Museums, as well as Naval Hill.
This was a getaway for me and my husband, which is why I booked the honeymoon unit for us. A romantic package was offered to me for R500, but when I wanted to book it and pay I was told that I should rather go and buy the things myself because they don't have time and staff to go and buy them, and then they will just make the room beautiful. However, when we got there I was disappointed to see that nothing had been done to make the room nice. The room was clean and tidy, but nothing special was done.
Spots need a little maintenance. And crockery was a bit limited. But a nice visit.
Bathroom carpets are tattered and bathroom full of spiders.
Our honeymoon started here and the cottage was not well maintained at all. The air conditioning does not work, the water from the taps is brown and earthy and you can hardly get the taps turned on. The game is in a separate camp and no game drives, not even by Sangiro himself, are allowed. When we came down from town on Monday afternoon, half past 3, we put our duvet inner and pillows in a bundle on the bed and only told them that there was no clean bed linen available now, because it was a holiday. We are very disappointed with the standard of this accommodation option. They don't see us again.
He needs an upgrade or a good cleaning!
The room smells terrible. The sheets were dirty, definitely not washed. It stinks. The towels are old and should have been replaced a few years ago. The room stinks. It stinks. The place never ever sees me again.
The children really enjoyed the silence and had fun riding around on their bikes. The animals create a wonderful atmosphere from the porch. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Sangiro also serves very nice breakfast.
The grandchildren enjoyed the tame giraffes a lot.
Breakfast is delicious and the wildlife a bonus to view through the fence. Friendly and helpful staff.
See stars.
What a lovely surprise to arrive at Sangiro late in the evening and still be greeted with such courtesy and enthusiasm. Beautiful setting and so close to the N1. Awesome stopover but would have loved to stay longer.
Very nice stay. The buildings need a little work, but the staff are very friendly and everything works. I would stay there again.
Problems: The shower head was completely loose and the water did not spray properly. The people on our left, we were at number 3, log home, played music and made a lot of noise all afternoon until late at night that you don't really want to hear at such a peaceful place.
Will definitely recommend and visit again.
Disappointed that there was no plates, cutlery or a braai tong.
It was nice and quiet and the location is good. They can provide more for self-catering because there are braai facilities. There was a braai place, but no other utensils and no chairs at the braai place.
Good accommodation, except for the noise form the cows around the chalets at 04:00.
Floor was not clean. Interior of unit not maintained. Furniture not thoroughly cleaned. Upholstery of sofas is dirty. Unit smells stuffy. We really enjoyed the country feel of the premises.
Friendly service. Children enjoy the animals. The air conditioner not working was a big disappointment. It was 36 degrees that day. Would not take the chance to stay there again.
Chalets kort baie aandag.
Very impressive location with the wild life roaming around the property. Would stay there anytime in the future again.
Very neat and pleasant place to spend the night.
A friend and I toured the Cape and on the way back we spent the night here. We were very satisfied. Enjoyed the most delicious breakfast and traveled on with a full stomach.
As a single lady I felt very safe. My unit was very comfortable and private.
Very good service, thank you very much.
Beautiful, neat, animals are an extra bonus.
Very nice and relaxing destination especially suitable for overnight stays when travelling. Children enjoyed animals and space and picked up quite a few peacock feathers. Chalets were very nice with good and modern furniture, kitchen appliances and great bed and linen. This is the second time we stay here and will definitely return.
No wine glasses, no knives, forks, plates, cloths, just basic things to make the accommodation more comfortable please.
We slept in Bloemfontein from the Cape to Pretoria. Location is nice and close to the highway and we had a wonderful stay.
Was very nice, but the bathroom is very small.
See stars.
It was lovely to just break away for a day or two to the lovely peace and quiet of Sangiro. The dinner was just a tad disappointing, but for sure Sangiro is a safe overnight stop for weary travelers.
Sangiro was very nice and everything but we were bitterly disappointed that we couldn't walk and drive between the animals. So one could not see much of the goats and animals. This was the main reason we booked it and we were very disappointed when we were told we could not look at the animals. The room was very nice and neat!
See stars.
Staff friendly and helpful. Safe and quiet. Close to the highway for an overnight stop. Will use them again.
Good for an overnight stay when you travel far.
Although we have not experienced any serious problems, I would like to bring the following to Management's attention. Sliding door keyhole does not look good. Stairs and deck cleanliness needs attention - very dusty. The air conditioner did not work - remote control could not turn it on. The toilet gave off a bad sewage smell.
Animals a bonus. Helpful staff. Our unit, no 4A, needs maintenance.
The place is nice and tidy. Just a pity there is no small kitchen and also no cutlery in the place. There is a small fridge and microwave. The place will be much more comfortable if there are cutlery.
I can only say two positive things: The cabin was clean and the lady at reception was friendly. This was our experience: Reception had no knowledge of our discussion and I had to email my booking details. The top three steps up to the hut are loose, uneven, cramped and dangerous. The keyhole in the door is just a hole in the door. The bench in the seating area is plugged, because it's broken. The single bed mattress is full of dirty dirty patches. The microwave has a dive above and looks as if it has fallen. The towels are so old, the sides literally hang in the threads. The shower leaked. The blind only partially closed. One side of the bedside lamp short There are no eating utensils that make self catering possible. If we weren't tired and it was Sunday night, we would have lost the money and wanted to find another place to sleep. We will not advise anyone to stay there. The price is highly regarded for other similar accommodation and is totally unacceptable for the condition of the place.
The unit, no. 5, was definitely not up to standard. The sofa in the sitting area of the unit was broken and dirty. Even the cushions on the chairs were dirty. We didn't even want to sit on it.
The unit was tidy and well equipped - environment so peaceful with all the animals - can't believe it's right next to the N1 - will definitely be our "stopover" when going to Mpumalanga again.
What a beautiful place. Really value for money and definitely the place to stay overnight in Bloemfontein. We were welcomed very kindly. The accommodation is neat and breakfast was out of the books. Thank you very much Sangiro for our nice time. Will definitely hear from us again.
I can definitely recommend it. The animals contribute to the tranquility. It is safe, tidy and close to the city and shopping centres.
Really enjoyed it and therefore recommended and already booked for family for 20 June.
Very nice stay. Unit was nicely modern equipped.
It had been fantastic, the animals were something else entirely to move through like that. I will definitely stay there again.
Very convenient location. The shower is not very good and there could have been better towels.
Good service. Quick help. Animals were an experience for our family. Helpful cleaners. Terribly nice experience.
The rooms were very neat and the highlight was definitely the welcoming committee: two beautiful giraffes! Breakfast was deliciously prepared and the stay was nice for us!
Stayed in Cabin 2. Beautiful view and a friendly peacock has made itself at home on our porch. Security is lacking as we were requested not to lock the place when we go out so housekeeping can come and clean! Would expect them to have their own keys. Quality of maintenance and repairs not up to standard. A few nail heads protrude above floor level and can injure someone if they walk barefoot. (Owners must now and then spend the night in their own units.
Nice stay among the wildlife. Calm atmosphere. Friendly people. Breakfast is good value for money. Tastier than Wimpy's.
Comfy and very neat.
It was amazing to be so close to wild animals.
Priced well for what it offers and clean, all basic needs met.
We had a great weekend. Great getaway for the weekend. Very close to Bloemfontein City Centre.
Location excellent. Breakfast wasn't good value for money. Eat at Service station. Room needs maintenance.
Nice getaway spot surrounded by nature and the most beautiful wild animals. Ostriches that drop in and giraffes that now and then stick their necks out to see if we are still there. The cottage was comfortable with everything we needed and the bath was definitely the best part.
I had requested an extra favour and this was gladly arranged for us before we arrived. I was particularly impressed with the friendliness of the staff. The view from our chalet was beautiful and the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Great value for money for a quick getaway. An extra special thank you to Juan-Pierre.
Positive points: Lovely area, clean and peaceful. Clean linen and tidy. Beautiful decor. Delicious breakfast. Negative points: Difficult to open and close taps at the basin and shower. Blocked drain outside the chalet reeked.
Everything that was promised is there... Small things could improve, such as soap and shampoo in the bathroom, basic knives, forks and a coffee cup in the kitchenette - is it a self-catering unit? But it's well located, clean, safe and affordable...
The accommodation was good; the rooms kept in very good condition. The shower head leaked after switching from hot to cold water, but nothing serious. The location is very close to Bloem and malls, while still making one feel as though one is living in the Free State.
The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The accommodation, although somewhat run down, clean and tidy. The only real complaint is the peacocks that waste on the porches of the cottages and make a lot of noise early in the morning.
The service was great. The house was very clean and was cleaned every day even if it was a long weekend. It is close to the N1, yet the vehicles don't bother you at all. The many types of goats there are tame and nice to sit and watch from the porch. There is a mall close to Sangiro with everything you need.
Cute wooden houses located in a game farm! Kids loved the "forest feel". They rode their bikes outside into the evening. So right to end a vacation. Located near shops to quickly buy something if you wanted to. Very cute for an overnight stay on the way back to Johannesburg!
We were exceptionally happy with everything at Sangiro Lodge. But it was very inconvenient to be woken up by a rooster crowing, although excellent value for money.
For the traveler who loves nature. Wooden houses on silence with goats, peacocks and emus. Nice view from the balcony with braai facilities. Just right for a few days of relaxation. Currently the Free State is very dry but it will be a beautiful place when the field is ready again.
It met our needs. They just have to mention pertinently that there is no cutlery. Location is good and relaxed atmosphere with all the wildlife.
Good place to stay. Safe, beautiful surroundings, almost everything you could ask for. However, there are little things that bother. There was no knife or fork, no bowl or plate to heat something in the microwave, no barbecue utensils, no glasses and a little soap and/or shampoo in the bathroom would help. There was nothing majorly wrong, but there are so many other places to stay in the area that just make more effort.
The TV was not tuned. The shower head was broken. The shower is too small and badly battered. The shower door was broken. There was also no coffee/tea/milk in the room.
The accommodation is very pleasant, but the infrastructure needs to be maintained. The stairs need urgent maintenance as they are badly weathered. Furthermore, I just want to mention that I had a very nice overnight stay. On the morning of our departure we made a request for the issuance of an invoice. Because of technical problems the reception could not provide it and promised to send it later the day. No documents received to date. Need it for submitting claims to employer.
The accommodation is very neglected.
I was sent to another lodge, Bains Lodge, which I felt was not value for my money and I wasted time trying to get there.
Lovely comfortable beds, fantastic view of the animals. The creaking wooden floors really aren't enough to stop me from enjoying this tranquility and natural beauty again. It's far from the N1, although you can see the Shell Ultra City and the N1. The fact that the Shell is close by also makes it very convenient.
Good service.
Unfortunately, there is no access control, so there is no security, especially overnight. Sofa in living room was damaged and some of the stairs to the unit were not in good condition. With the right care, there is very good potential. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The Sangiro Lodge is most conveniently situated, cannot be missed immediately off the N1 outside of Bloemfontein. The lovely wooden cottages are most comfortable, equipped with all the necessary appliances for a leisurely stop-over. The peacocks, llamas and ostriches stood guard as we arrived, while zebras and buck grazed peacefully in the distance. There's even a large crocodile to be viewed. Breakfast was pleasant. My only niggle is the fact that the floors in the units need to be swept more carefully - it was not pleasant finding hairpins and used tissues in my lounge while my friend's unit contained a half-empty orange juice in the open fridge and an empty condom package on the floor. Management, please check cleanliness regularly!
Bed linen and towels should be replaced.
We arrived a little late but the office was still staffed and we were quickly directed to the double unit.
There is mold in the shower, the pressure in the shower is very weak. The bed and bedding are easily 20 years old and the pillows are ridiculous. The towels have been laundered and the 1-ply toilet paper may not be suitable for a guest house. I also think the description shouldn't say self-catering if there isn't even a two-plate stove or cutlery. There was only 1 plastic spoon to stir coffee with. The sofa bed is rotten from the stains everywhere. The wood is also completely weathering, maybe it needs some oil or varnish. At breakfast, there were no glasses for juice, cutlery or napkins on the tables and the tablecloths had probably not been washed a week ago. On arrival at breakfast we were simply told "get yourselves a table back there". Not good morning, welcome or nothing. The bedside lamps were melted and burned inside, one light bulb simply did not work at all. It's a terrible shame, because the wildlife and view are fantastic. Maybe if more attention is given to the houses themselves, the place will simply overflow with guests. The man at reception was fantastically friendly. I had to give 1 star for cleanliness as the review doesn't accept 0 stars as an answer, so it won't go through.
