8 guests' feedbackWe didn't even get a key in the door and when we wanted to check in they didn't know about us and there was a double booking.
In future I will be a day visitor using outside-self catering.
Spekboom Camp is nice near Hapoordam, lots of elephants. Nice and quiet, only 5 tents, all far from each other, comfortable tent, very clean and serviced daily. Be wary of washing - no electricity, only solar lights, gas cooker and stove at ablution. Ablution and showers (cold water) clean and tidy.
Would recommend bringing a flashlight.
Wow, what a fantastic getaway! Accommodation was great. We enjoyed it so much. The hyenas called next to our tent. What an experience.
The mattress and pillows are not the best. Lovely braai facility too.
We enjoyed the experience, but it was difficult to socialise as there was no communal lapa. We would have enjoyed a game drive and we were told that was not possible. I would have thought a dedicated drive would have been possible. There was no recycling facility.
SANparke's fees make it unreachable to the ordinary South African who loves the outdoors and would like to visit the parks. At the Kruger National Park, as well as at the Karoo National Park earlier this year, the staff were very friendly, and the facilities were very tidy and clean. At Spekboom tent camp at Addo we were a little disappointed - the items listed on the list of accessories were incomplete. There was no braai or pan. The previous visitors' cigarette stumps lay outside the tent. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience!
