From the east, leave the N2 near Swellendam and pass through Bredasdorp to get to Cape Agulhas. Alternatively, you can get there by scenic gravel road from the fishing village of Gansbaai via the rural hamlet of Baardskeerdersbos and the Moravion mission village of Elim. Absolutely amazing! The place is very clean and well maintained. Beautiful sunsets and a refreshing lagoon to relax in. Will definitely come back.
What a privilege to come and stay at such a beautiful place. It's quite a way out of Agulhas, so you have to make sure you have everything you might need, but definitely worth it. It was a comfortable log cabin, with a shower big enough for a rugby team - delicious! It's walking distance to the picture-perfect private booth.
A mosquito net might be great. One is sometimes afraid of spiders that might fall from above.

It's an absolute gem, especially for nature lovers. The accommodation is more luxurious than expected and very comfortable. The service at the SANParks office was also very good.

The wooden chalets are beautifully appointed and have been built to provide comfortable private accommodation. The walks within the rest camp provide wonderful views and great opportunities to discover the wide variety of fynbos.
The entire weekend from arrival to departure was a wonderful experience. The accommodation is very neat with everything you need.

Cancelling or downgrading of a reservation 45 days or less prior to, or on, arrival will result in cancellation fees according to a sliding scale, based on the total reservation cost, which varies between 50% and 100%.
Description
This chalet comprises 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The first bedroom contains a double bed, a ceiling fan, and a shower en suite. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds, a ceiling fan, and a shower en suite. The kitchen is well-equipped with a 2-plate stove, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, and cutlery and crockery. The dining area contains a 6-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge contains a sleeper couch that is only suitable for children under 12. Outside there is a patio deck with outdoor furniture and braai facilities.

Description
This historic house, located within the greater Rest Camp area, has been carefully restored. The house is situated on a peninsula to the west of the Suiderstrand enclave, with 270-degree sea views, it has an awesome location. This house and farm used to belong to PK Albertyn who bought it in 1898 and in the same year a cottage was built for Mrs Albertyn as a birthday gift. The small bay to the west of the house reminded her of a book she had read, called the 'Blue Lagoon' and she called the property 'The Lagoon'. This portion of the Park was incorporated into Agulhas National Park in 2001. The house has 4 bedrooms, of which 2 have separate external entrances and their own shower en suite. The other 2 bedrooms are in the house, and share a bathroom with a bath, a shower and a toilet. There is also a well-equipped kitchen, an 8-seater dining table, and a lounge area in the house. Outside there is a patio deck with outdoor furniture and braai facilities.

Rates displayed are on a self-catering basis and bedding and towels are provided. Rates include a 1% community fund.
House Rules
This camp does not accept cash.
All visitors over 18 years old will be required to produce an identity document, passport or alternative valid identification e.g. driver’s licence card for scanning upon entering/exiting the Parks.
A standard daily conservation fee of R200 for foreign visitors, R100 for SADC nationals with a valid passport, and R50 for South African Citizens and Residents with ID, will be required on entry to the park.

Visitors with accommodation bookings can still enter and exit the gate after closing times but before 22:00, with prior arrangement made at the SANParks Agulhas Office.

Weekdays: 07:30 - 18:00
Weekends and Public Holidays: 09:00 - 17:00 (closed between 12:00 and 12:30)
Keys must be collected and returned to SANParks Agulhas Office on check out at 214 Main Road, Agulhas (last building on the right before the lighthouse).
The use of drones inside (and over) our national parks is strictly prohibited.
No smoking is allowed inside the accommodation.
Accommodation is serviced daily (except for the washing of dishes) and is equipped with bedding and towels.

The SANParks Agulhas Rest Camp can be accessed via the N2 highway, which runs from Cape Town along the east coast via the Garden Route to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), turning off at Caledon and passing through Bredasdorp when coming from the west. From the east, leave the N2 near Swellendam and pass through Bredasdorp to get to Cape Agulhas. Alternatively, you can get there by scenic gravel road from the fishing village of Gansbaai via the rural hamlet of Baardskeerdersbos and the Moravion mission village of Elim. The nearest towns are L’Agulhas and the fishing village of Struisbaai.
