The Bontle Rest Camp is located adjacent to the park’s new reception and administrative office, and is in close proximity to the main entrance gate.
It's no coincidence that bontle means ‘beautiful’ in Setswana. This pleasant rest camp consists of 10 tented units for those who would prefer a permanent structure more than putting up a tent and camp themselves. The tented units have a private verandah and are self-catering with their own fully equipped kitchen and outdoor braai stand. The rest camp also offers 36 campsites with power points, arranged into 3 clusters with 1 communal ablution block per cluster.

7 guests' feedbackWe really enjoyed our time at Marekele National Park. The ablutions were clean, and the campsite was quiet.
The camp in winter, outside school holidays, is very quiet and few tourists during the week. On weekends there are more campers. Most of the campers are foreign tourists and they are all very friendly, quiet and tidy.
When we arrived there was no parking space available. Luckily the pitches are very large and a fellow camper agreed that we could share with them as they were leaving the next day. Another couple with a small daughter had the same experience as us the next day and we let them set up on the stand with us.
Enjoyed a lot, although we didn't see much wildlife. Pool would be bonus. Beautiful tent camping unit. Clean and tidy. Thank you.
The views around the park, especially in the Big 5 area alone was worth the trip. Everyone was very friendly.
Rhinos, giraffes and many species of antelope came to graze in the camp every afternoon. Very quiet, neat and clean. Was an experience. Roads need some attention after all the rain. Will definitely go again.
