Letaba is beautiful. The staff at all the camps were friendly and helpful. The bungalow is small but functional. There were two issues though: the small stove plates had no writing on the dials, making it difficult to use. Secondly, the fridges are raided by vervet monkeys, and Letaba leaves a note for guests to turn the fridges sideways to prevent this. No effort is made to place wire cages around the fridges as in the other camps. It is very inconvenient to have to turn a large fridge around every time you need to open it.
We had a nice stay and ate at the restaurant. There are things that can be improved, e.g. the pool area can be made tidy, as well as the pool's floor. Maybe steel steps for older people to get in and out easily, and maybe upgrade the chalets. Slept very well.
We had a nice stay, but the bathrooms need maintenance.

Safari tents were comfortable and well equipped with kitchen and ablution facilities within easy reach. All that bothers is the unfriendliness of the cleaners.
The restaurant has too few waiters. Wait a very long time. The staff at reception are not friendly. Short and not helpful. Lots of construction right now.
The cabins are very small and although they are self-catering, they are combined with a communal kitchen. The cost is therefore excessive for what one gets. The air conditioners are very old and noisy, and the cabins are very close together, so there is little privacy.
The game park is always a good experience. Silence for the soul.
We had a great stay but the area is very dirty, they have dug up trees but the holes are still the same and they are from long back, branches and leaves lie around and there are many old people moving. When is one going to fall and they might injure themselves? Monkeys bite refrigerators to pieces, you have to turn them so they can't get the door open.
Bathrooms clean and tidy. Washing machines need attention.

Best camp in the Wildlife Park.
However we were not told at any time that there is no crockery, cutlery, kettle mugs etc in the tent. Fortunately we did not need to make supper as we had eaten earlier but one cannot even make a cup of coffee. I suggest that the tent be basically equipped with kitchenware for 2 people. and if not that travellers are made aware that the tent is only a bedroom and if one wishes to braai you need to take all your own stuff.

In our first week we were washed out with rain in our tent. They moved us to a cabin.

The tent house we slept in was equipped with extra pillows, as well as blankets. It has a fridge, as well as a fan. The ablution block was neat, as well as the kitchen.
It was well placed on the river, the views were amazing with loads of animal sightings near by the camp.
Saw everything we wanted to see, people were always very nice and friendly, got really good service.
Would just be nice if the big shop was rebuilt and back in full operation, because right now it's a real eyesore!

Letaba was one of our favorite camps. It's clean and there's a lot of wildlife to see. Will definitely stay there again.

Best place for silence, rest and peace.
The Kruger is always a lovely experience but the camp was obviously in need of some attention - broken paving, benches with broken planks and a general untidiness of the grounds. Even the lookouts needed attention.
The communal bathrooms were always spotless and super clean as was the kitchen. My only negative about the camp are the grounds. The grass is very long especially around the pool area and the number of paper thorns is beyond me. Other then that we had a wonderful trip.
Very calm. Enjoyed it a lot. Nature very beautiful green. Ablution blocks at tents just need some TLC.
Another thing we didn't like is the outside kitchen, and the shower was too small. Staff were very friendly, and Tsakane (the tour guide) was fantastic, knowledgeable and brave and she was warm-hearted.
Nasty! Grass meters high. Dirty. Door locks broken. Looks like a ghost town. Shame to death that overseas travelers have to see it this way. All the other camps are so neat, clean and friendly but Letaba looks shocking!

The place was amazing, the lodge was clean, very beautiful, well located with a terrace overlooking the river. We easily had a braai. Everyone was kind. Would recommend it despite the rain.

A standard daily conservation fee of R440 for foreign visitors, R220 for SADC nationals with a valid passport, and R110 for South African Citizens and Residents with ID, will be required on entry to the park.
In emergencies only, late arrivals for guests with prebooked accommodation at camps within 10km from an entrance gate is allowed subject to the following conditions:
* Not allowed under any circumstances at Giriyondo, Pafuri, Phabeni or Phalaborwa Gates
* No arrivals later than 21:00 under any circumstances
* An additional cost per vehicle applies: R710 for vehicles with 8 or less passengers, R1,490 for vehicles with 9 or more passengers
* Must be arranged in advance with the gate and rest camp
* Evidence of emergency that delayed arrival will be requested
All accommodation, ablution and kitchen facilities are serviced by cleaning staff on a daily basis.
Besides a bank (only open Monday to Friday and Saturday morning) at Skukuza and an ATM at Skukuza and Letaba, no cash withdrawal facilities are available in the Park.
Day visitors will no longer be allowed to bring or consume alcohol in public areas such as parking lots, picnic sites, wildlife viewing areas or roads, gates and all other areas designated as public. The restrictions will not apply to overnight visitors who will be allowed to bring in own alcohol for consumption in the privacy of their booked accommodation and the restaurants. Like day visitors, overnight visitors will be bound by the same rules of not drinking in public.
Do not leave any food unattended, as thieving monkeys and baboons are a constant threat.

The name means 'river of sand', and the sandy riverbed is an excellent location for game viewing, particularly elephant, which thrive in the area. Letaba is a green oasis in the surrounding mopane veld, and remains a firm favourite with visitors. At night the stars overlook a symphony of sounds. Owls, nightjars, frogs, fruit bats, crickets and cicadas all vie to be heard, until the lion roars, then all are silent.
Letaba Rest Camp offers a cafeteria and a shop, a restaurant, a communal laundromat, filling station, communal kitchens and ablutions, braai facilities, conference facilities, a basic day visitor picnic area in the camp, a swimming pool for overnight residents, a TV lounge, Letaba Elephant Hall museum, and seasonal kids education programmes.
Activities at Letaba Rest Camp include guided bush walks, and morning, night and day game drives in the company of trained field guides, 4x4 adventure trails, bush breakfast and bush braais, and wildlife film screenings except on Sundays.
