13 guests' feedbackThe entire Mokala reserve exceeded our expectations. Lilydale made the experience so much better. To have the wonderful view of the river all the time. The house was neat and had everything you need. I would definitely recommend it.
The animals are tame, we could see them very close. Roads were well maintained. 4x4 routes are well signposted.
Please note that even though only some of the roads within the reserve is marked as 4x4 only, the road to get to the Lilydale gate would be very rough for a normal sedan or hatchback.
The location is very nice. Place is very neat and clean. We were received very kindly.
Our little house on the cliff next to the Reed River was breathtaking and soul food. Eeden, the SAN Park officer,'s friendly and professional reception at the gate was welcome after a long day on the road. The park boasts rhinos and buffaloes and many buck species.
The receptionist was not friendly at all! She didn't smile once. It is very bad that the restaurants are no longer working.
Not at all up to the standard one expects from SANParks. Also for the price - no coffee/tea/sugar or milk and compared to other accommodations that are less than half the price you get so much more.
Have a nice time thank you.
The park is beautiful, but we felt the cottages were not up to the standard we are used to from the park board.
We had a lovely stay at Mokala, Lilydale. We saw a lot of animals. Really worth it. Every trip through our beautiful country should include Mokala.
See stars.
Lillydale was a very nice place to stay. Very clean and everything you need. We really did see a lot of animals which is ultimately why we went there! Unfortunately the 16 km dirt road before you enter the Lillydale road is extremely bad, and from my perspective not really accessible with a normal sedan or smaller car. The roads within the park are fine though.
Very nice chalets, and the park has many animals. Really enjoyed it for a short break.
