The heartland of the Park stretches some 5 km to sea, protecting a wonderland of intertidal, reef and deep sea life. Dolphins frolic in the breakers, surfing and playing for the sheer joy of life, and the gentle giant of the ocean, the southern right whale visit here, coming inshore to breed. The African black oystercatcher, a red data species, is one of South Africa’s most threatened bird species and several pairs nest along the Park’s rocky coastline. The beautiful Knysna loeries with their gruff call are common sightings in the forest. The Cape Clawless Otter is a shy and elusive species that hunts crabs along the Park’s coastline. Blue Duiker and bushbuck are seldom seen but can sometimes be glimpsed browsing around campsites.
Tsitsikamma has 2 rest camps, each with their own magic and charm; Storms River Mouth Rest Camp and De Vasselot Rest Camp in Natures Valley. The Storms River Mouth Rest Camp, is situated some 615 km from Cape Town, 195 km from Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and 68 km from Plettenberg Bay
Enjoy beautiful seascapes that contrast with the dense indigenous forests, well laid out walks, hikes, suspension bridges, boat trips and all from within the Storms River Mouth Rest Camp.
Choose from 100 camp sites, all situated a few steps from the ocean and all with electricity, communal ablutions and laundry facilities.

Safe place. Everyone friendly with each other. Definitely recommend place. Will definitely visit there again.
Clean ablution blocks, neat grounds.
Best campsite, beautiful, safe, friendly staff.
The stay was very nice. Power point was available. Ambulance was clean and tidy.
Very well-managed nature/conservation area with sea views and forest trails to wander on. It's was quiet and other travellers all respectful of each other's needs to commune with nature.
This is raw beauty! Loud crashing waves, simply breathtaking views! Well-maintained camp stands. Will be returning to stay longer.
The ablution showers need urgent attention. The floors are constantly wet because the shower curtains do not hang down to the floor. It is extremely dangerous and very slippery. The toilets move around and are not properly attached to the wall. The store has a limited number of items and there is no restaurant as indicated. These are just a few of the grills you can buy from. We will not go again.
Very pretty. We had a great camp. Would definitely recommend it.
Very disappointed, as we were booked for 3 days. Paid for the entire stay. Left after the first day. Venue under construction. The ablution block is under maintenance and no one prior to booking informed us about this.
Very neat resort with beautiful nature.
Everything was in order and cleaned everyday.
The rest camp by the sea is a special experience. Really a nice environment. Noise from the sea makes you not aware of other people around you. Bathrooms are clean but could use renovation.
The campsites are extremely neat and so are the ablution blocks. Closer to the sea, you won't just find camping. I would recommend the caravan sites to anyone who likes beautiful scenery.
