Island Lake is the first in this chain of lakes and owes its name to Drommedaris Island located at its center. Langvlei ‘long lake’ was formed when the sea level was much higher and owes its name to its shape, which seems particularly elongated when compared to the other 4. Rondevlei ‘Round Lake’ is 143-hectares and an old wind deflated basin inundated with seawater. This Ramsar site is a very important habitat for several rare bird species. Swartvlei ‘Black lake’ covers some 1100-hectares and is the largest and deepest of the lakes. It is a veritable birding enthusiast and salt water fisherman’s paradise.
If you are looking for tranquillity, or an action packed holiday, or a bit of both, then Wilderness is your playground. Experience whales and dolphins at Dolphins Point, go boating or fishing at Island Lake or hike to the waterfall above the Ebb-and-Flow Rest Camp. You don’t need to be super fit to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Take a stroll along a forest path or visit one of the 5 bird hides situated along the still banks of the rivers and lakes. Paddle down the dark rivers in a canoe, which can be hired at Ebb-and-Flow Rest Camp, and watch the world float by. Camp under the stars alongside the river or stay in log cabins on stilts.
The Family Cottages have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and both indoor and outdoor fireplaces. The Forest Cabins have either 2 beds or 4 beds with 1 bathroom and a partially equipped kitchen. A communal kitchen is available for cooking. In order to cater for a wide range of pockets the accommodation in North Camp is more affordable. The rondavels are basic and classified as budget accommodation but are equipped with basic kitchen equipment. All accommodation in both the South and North Camps are serviced daily and comes with bedding, towels and soap.
Both South and North Camps have caravan sites and campsites on the banks of the Touw River with communal ablutions and scullery facilities. Communal coin-operated washing machines and tumble-dryers are available at the rest camp. Some sites at Ebb-and-Flow Rest Camp are equipped with 220V power points.

Very nice stay. Breathtaking nature with very friendly service!
Had a nice stay and slept. Well located.
Ebb-and-Flow is the perfect campsite for family holidays. We had a wonderful stay.
The camping with caravan at Noord Ebb and Flow was fantastic.
Very nice and peaceful camping place.
The park is beautiful, the cabin is neat and clean, and the guests were all on the same page of rest and relaxation. It's not too close and not too far from town if you need to pop in for a few supplies. Kids can play freely and parents can relax. There was, however, a private function at the Loerie Venue whereby the children of the party were chasing away and attempting to catch every living animal in the park, and after we checked out and were back in Cape Town already, they informed us over the phone there are hidden fees that we need to pay and they will send us the bill.
Simple rondavels that need some paint, but generally pleasant to stay there because of the beautiful view when you barbecue! Rondawel north no 39's shower was only slightly clogged. A shelf in the bathroom will help where you can put your things when you shower.
Ideal location on the river.
The site itself is very neat and clean. The rondavels could perhaps be made a bit more modern and some of them could be refurbished. The rondavels are extra cold in winter. Furthermore, we had a great time, and really enjoyed the Kingfisher Trail.
Very neat and clean. Campsites could be marked out better, difficulty finding a place in almost full camp ground.
Beautiful surroundings with great activities for the whole family.
Unbelievably beautiful scenery. Tranquility that one cannot describe. One of our favorite places.
Lovely surroundings & sounds.
Beautifull, well maintained camp.
We enjoy visiting SANParks. The people are friendly and all the facilities are spotless. The accommodation also offers everything one needs. Will definitely visit again.
Booking was easy and I received a response back immediately. Check-in was easy and fast. Receptionist is always friendly. The Bungalow where I stayed was neat and clean. If you want luxury, this is not the place for you. If you want nature with a comfortable and neat place to stay, this is the place. Will always go back.
I will always go there again and again.
Staying here is always nice because beautiful nature and wonderful, helpful staff. Friendly and considerate fellow visitors. Centrally located in terms of sea and river and hiking trails, town and nearby tourist attractions. Very safe. Was disappointed that rondavels and ablution blocks were not as well maintained as when I visited previously, but hopefully this will be sorted out quickly.
See stars.
Shower outlet does not let water out quickly enough. Water forms pool and is not hygienic.
Will never stay there again.as i was robbed of my food and all they could say was sorry
The camp is beautiful and the staff is super friendly. Its quiet and peaceful. Love that there is a hike not too far from campsite.
It is a very pretty camping spot and enjoyed camping there.
