Very nice house. Everything one could need. We were lucky to get the snow, it was amazing. Very nice fireplace — spent evenings playing games. Solar works very well, except when it snows. Would have liked to walk around more, but we were literally a bit snowed in. Will have to turn around again so we can explore properly. Owners are very helpful and friendly.

We had a lovely stay.
Louise greeted us when we got there, gave us her cell phone number should we need anything and then left us to our peace and privacy for the rest of the stay. The cottage has ample heating in the winter and we never slept cold (also a very pleasant hot shower). There is plenty of hiking to do up and down the gravel road (nearby dam as well) and also plenty of places to which you can drive and explore.
We spent most of the time indoors and the fireplace and well equipped cottage was just a pleasure! Beautiful setting, fantastic views and nature and a pleasant, clean and well equipped cottage made our easter weekend a great experience, at a reasonable price. Thank you very much to Louise and her team! Especially in adverse weather conditions, DStv and/ or Wi-Fi connectivity would have been great.
Well appointed accommodation that is tastefully finished. Very clean and tidy. The view is breathtaking. The kitchen is well equipped. I can highly recommend the accommodation.
Got to experience an adventurous part of life. The place takes me back to beautiful childhood memories. It is indeed a getaway place to clear out your mind. The fireplace kept us warm all the time.
Nice break from the city, "off grid" living is something you have to get used to, but still a very nice break. Keep a close eye on the weather, a Sedan vehicle will not work if it rains.
A beautiful luxurios establishment not cheap with NO housekeeping is not value for money. WHilst the place is BEAUTIFUL and the bedding crispy clean the unit it self need regular DUSTING and windows washed. there is no housekeeping so the cleaning is surface cleaning only.
We had good family time at Satori. The walk to the waterfall is a comfortable walk (ask for directions).
The cottage was one of the best places I've stayed in in the Berg. Comfy bedrooms, great bathroom, well-equipped kitchen. Nice patio and stoep. Did not miss anything that needed electricity. Would visit again without hesitation. And yes do bring 5 bags minimum of wood even more - fireplace and braai and firepit. It's the Berg! Thank you Louise.

Our accommodation at Satori was very nice. The surroundings and scenery are beautiful. The house is very neat and clean, and well equipped. It is on a remote farm, but we had no reason to feel unsafe. It was really nice and relaxing and close enough that we could visit the midlands properly. I would recommend it to anyone and go there again myself.

We really enjoyed our weekend at Satori Lodge, Louise was very hospitable, the views were breathtaking, we enjoyed some lovely walks through the forest and had a very relaxing and peaceful stay.
The lodge is located on top of a hill, with breathtaking 360 degrees mountain and forest views. Secluded, private and peaceful.
Satori Farm Lodge is accommodation really tucked away, for a time of unwinding and appreciating nature. The views of the hills through every window are just breathtaking. Especially with sunrise. Solar energy is used, and therefor no electricity. The rooms are very creatively decorated by the very friendly owner and have en-suite bathrooms. The kitchen, lounge and sitting rooms are shared with the other guests. The kitchen has everything one might need. On our stay we were the only guests. The creative decor brings a special inviting feeling to every space and one feels like just relaxing and spending time reading or just being. We also took a walk in the forest with the farm dogs and spend time having a picnic in the forest. This is really a place to come and rest and just enjoy. Thank you, I would love to visit again.
Be advised that Satori Farm Lodge works with solar power. Small fridge, freezing compartment very small. Just enough space for one holder with food. Not enough for big group who wants to stay for long. Satori has space for 12. Far from shops. If you take all of your food with you the freezing storage can be a problem. Maybe take dry ice and a big cool box with you. Go sleep early or sit around candle light. Look at the stars. Walk to the waterfall and have a picnic. Thatched roof so take medication for hay fever. Wonderful, extraordinary getaway. We would like to go again. Gravel road to Satori is good. Don't need a 4x4.
If you want to find rest and walk around in nature, this is an excellent place. The accommodation needs some renovation, especially the beauty. When we stayed there, it was bitterly cold the first night and although there was a gas heater, it was without a gas bottle and the owners were not willing to give us one either. At least the fire warmed the place up a bit later. I'm a little unsure if I can recommend it, but it's still value for money.
Satori Farm Lodge is definitely a safe and beautiful sanctuary in the mighty mountains of KZN. The owners are exceptional people, warm, friendly and a deep knowledge of the natural surroundings. Our stay was bliss. Satori is for people who loves stillness and nature. We will be going back to Satori more often.
