We stayed three nights and drove to Stilbaai daily. The unit is well equipped with everything needed. Although one can see the N2 from the porch, one does not hear the vehicles at all. We had a great stay and recommend the accommodation.

The hosts were very kind. Unfortunately, Schoongelegen Rooms was a bit further from Riversdale than I had imagined. I also did not realize that the kitchen was not attached to the room and that it would be shared with other people. We needed to buy some water because the farm does not have water during loadshedding, unfortunately. We did enjoy watching the sheep being sheared and the dogs herding the sheep. It was a lively farm experience.

We were warmly welcomed and everything was clean and tidy. Loadshedding causes water and power outages, but this is understandable and we have adapted to it. Was able to get in some good reading time as there is no TV but suited us and enjoyed 2 lovely evenings. Thank you.

The farm has two rooms with sleeping space for up to 3 people (although they have allowed more) with a very neat shower and toilet. Both rooms have a kettle and mugs for coffee and tea, while the one farthest from the kitchenette also has a small fridge. The two rooms share a small, well-equipped kitchenette with a kettle, fridge, microwave as well as a two-plate stove. There are also cutlery and everything needed for a nice braai. There is a nice stoep directly in front of the rooms and braai facilities and wood is kept next to the one room. The farm is about 500 - 700 meters from the intersection of the N2 and main road to Stilbaai. There is a very large lawn in front of and around the farmhouse as well as these rooms where children will be able to play and run around. They have friendly sheepdogs. However, it is a working farm with tractors and other vehicles that can move about 50 m from the rooms, so if the children move towards the barn you just have to make sure they are aware of it. The accommodation is ideal for someone who wants to explore the area and perhaps also want to go to the beach for a day but doesn't want to be stuck in a busy holiday town like Stilbaai. Just be aware the wind blows a lot here. Fortunately, the porch is somewhat out of the wind. There is a paddock within a few minutes drive from the accommodation where you can buy good food, pies and drinks. The Spar on Riversdal is also only a short drive from the farm and is well equipped. There are also nice places to eat on Riversdal, and a visit to the Corintpoort Dam is also recommended. However, it's a long dirt road from Riversdal. If you go to Stilbaai during the holidays, be prepared for long traffic jams on the way out. Then look up Pizza World and eat a delicious pizza here while the traffic may be slowing down.

We spent one night at Schoongelegen Room. The accommodation is comfortable, clean and tidy. It is conveniently close to the N2 and yet far enough that the traffic does not disturb. Comfortable beds and everything needed. We will definitely stay here again.

Clean rooms with shower room for each room and outdoor kitchen shared by 2 rooms. Need decent road directions as the farm is far outside Riversdal. Gravel road to farmhouse and rooms a bit uneven for a normal car.
