These 2 suites are located on the first floor of the main lodge. Both have a private, lavish bathroom with a bath and shower. The rooms are furnished with king-size beds, a seating area, a fridge and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The north-facing balconies overlook a big part of the estate.
Three of the semi-detached chalets, Zebra, Elephant and Leopard, offer 6 beautifully decorated rooms with private entrance, private bathroom featuring a bath with a view, and an outside shower. The chalets are situated on a path leading away from the lodge. They have private parking. The rooms are furnished with king-size beds that can be converted into single beds, a seating area, a fridge and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The balconies, also north faced, offer a relaxing view of the bushveld and the water hole.
The other chalet offers 2 rooms also furnished with king-size beds that can be converted into single beds, a seating area, a fridge and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The chalet is located near the pool and the conference room.
Inside the lodge is a reception area, a dining room, several comfortable sitting areas with open fires and a well-stocked bar. Outside on the decks are dining and lounging facilities, with a wonderful view of the hills, bushveld and the waterhole. The communal Jacuzzi is available for guests to use and is situated next to the gym. Sit and relax with a nice drink and watch the many birds or see the nyala, sable antelopes, buffalo and much more pass by. Downstairs are a swimming pool table and dartboard for your entertainment. The lodge area offers Wi-Fi. A game drive is included, and additional game drives can be booked.

10 guests' feedbackWe were really pleasantly surprised! The room was very neat, clean and comfortable. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and make an effort for every guest. You almost feel like family by the time you go home. The work done at the Lions Foundation is remarkable and the fact that all proceeds from Schrikkloof go to the Lions Foundation makes a visit to Schrikkloof even more worthwhile!
The rooms were not up to standard. Old and worn fittings. The bathroom was tiny, dark, and awful. Wooden doors, etc., in desperate need of maintenance. There was no jacuzzi (which was advertised).
Lovely place to break away, got a chance to relax in beautiful nature. The chef is excellent and all the staff are helpful and friendly.
The staff are super friendly. I have lots of allergies. They catered for me to ensure I could eat the meals. Thomas the manager is amazing and so is the chef. The guide is so knowledgeable and the game drive was awesome. The lion sanctuary is just amazing. You hear them roar during the evening and early morning. These are all rescued Lions. They are so well looked after. It is so peaceful there. We did not see much game but the experience was amazing. Road getting there is a dirt road so be prepared.

We celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary. Schrikkloof was exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful nature, intimate, delicious food. The work done with lions really impressed us. We can recommend Schrikkloof if you are looking for rest for your mind.
We were given specific times for breakfast and dinner and arrived accordingly, but we we had to wait an hour each time to be served. This was a big inconvenience traveling with a baby. Breakfast options were very limited and not great.
My wife and I came across Schrikkloof and decided it looked like the ideal place to celebrate our wedding anniversary in peace and quiet and away from the crazy rush of our lives and we didn't regret it for a moment. Schrikkloof is peace and quiet itself. The staff is very friendly and the service excellent. It comes at a price but although the accommodation was more expensive than we usually spend on any getaway, I still feel that when you consider the quality of the accommodation, food, area and that meals and a game drive through a very experienced guide and what was really interesting is that everything is included in the price, then you actually get relatively good value for money. I would like to say a special thank you to Anna, the chef. She can cook! And she was very friendly and not at all afraid to give away her cooking secrets - my wife left with some delicious ideas for delicious food and how to make it. Fantastic.
The dirt road to Suen is passable. The lodge has many stairs and is not wheelchair friendly. If this is not a problem, the silence and peace is all that is needed for a peaceful stay.
