I was in Stellenbosch for a course and this was the perfect accommodation option! It is extremely affordable, neat and clean and ideally located. Marie is a fantastic hostess and made sure we always had everything we needed. And as a bonus, her cute dachshund Bella came to greet us every afternoon when we got home! I will without a doubt stay here again on my next visit to Stellenbosch and will definitely recommend it to all my family and friends.

I booked a short stay for my Stellies student daughter and myself, for her graduation. I needed somewhere clean, affordable and close to Stellenbosch Central as we would be Ubering everywhere (I live in Johannesburg and flew down for the graduation). Schuilplaats Studio was absolutely perfect - like a little home from home. Absolutely everything was thought about and catered for, it was pristine, and it was very comfortable and quiet. Marie is a superb hostess and we were made to feel very welcome.

The back door won't lock - had to use broom stick to prevent someone from opening the door. There is only small 2 spiral plate cooking thing. There is no air conditioning or heaters or bed warmers or extra blankets - and it was very cold because hard and lots of rain. The parking offered was for very small cars - as a result my vehicle had to park in the street. Every now and then there was a vagrant with trash in the middle of the night and while it was sauced. Every now and then, vehicles stopped by my car. At 02:00 I just got up and worked on my computer so I could keep an eye on my vehicle. We left early in the morning and canceled our stay.

On arrival we were greeted by a friendly lady who owns the place. She briefly showed us the places and then left. I would really recommend the place to anyone looking for a place to lay your head in comfort for 1 or 2 nights while exploring the area. The area is nice and quiet and private. The full bar fridge that works on an honesty system was also very welcome, because it was quite warm, and the beer was cold. I will definitely stay there again.

We stayed 2 nights at Schuilplaats Studio. The unit has everything one needs for self-catering. The beds were comfortable, the bedding was clean. The unit is spacious enough for 2 people. It is an open plan kitchen, living room, bedroom and the bathroom with a toilet, sink and a shower has a sliding door that closes for privacy. The area is very safe and quiet.
Lovely place, braai facilities. Marie has thought of everything you need. Even umbrella and it came in handy on my birthday, at my son's graduation. There is coffee, tea, powdered milk and biscuits. I will definitely stay at Shuulplaats again. Thank you for your hospitality, Marie.
