Our hosts went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. They also shared some valuable info about restaurants and activities in and around Sedgefield. Much appreciated. We could really relax and switch off during our stay. The view from the huts over the lake is spectacular and to top it all off we heard and saw the resident fish eagles flying and searching for their next meal. I would definitely recommend Sedgefield Huts to anyone who needs some peace and quiet time away from city life. Thank you. We will visit you again soon.

It's a hidden gem in the mountains. Everyone deserves to stay in a hut like this at least once in a lifetime.
If you come to stay here you should know that it is in nature. Midges and centipedes hang out together. Mattresses were good, but bring your own pillow if you want it. Descent to the kitchen and also stairs. So you must at least be able to keep your balance. Affordable, so don't expect anything "fancy". If you love being in nature, this is the place for you. Incredible view. Feed your soul here.
The shower head was broken. You need ear spray for mice.

Bathroom and kitchen sit outside, 25 m from the cabin. Mountain down. Had to walk in the rain, cold and wet. Footpaths are paved, but steep and must be watched not to slip. Could have put stairs instead. No coffee or sugar, too few blankets. Road is also silly up to the cabins. It is stated as a dirt road and should ask about the condition, but nothing is mentioned about it being steep, hilly, and slippery when it rains. Difficulty turning with a stroller, space is limited. They don't see me again.
If you want peace and quiet with beautiful views then this is it. The best thing in the morning is walking out and taking in the view. Becasue it is in the bush there are spiders so if you are scared of them then. Bring you tea and coffee.
It was a wonderful, relaxing stay. Our hut (Rooikat) was neat and cosy, the kitchen well-equipped and a lovely shower in the bathroom with more than enough hot water. The views are spectacular over the valley, visible from your bed if the door is open. You can also watch the sunset over the valley from the braai area. The perfect private spot if you want to get away from it all, become one with nature and even do some self reflection. Peaceful, refreshing. Don't worry about bugs. We saw only a few rain spiders, a frog and two tiny scorpions (all outdoors of course). No mosquitoes. Cellphone reception is good so you won't be offline completely unless you actually switch your phone off. Thanks Natalie. We'll be back!
The natural beauty is something special. Unfortunately, that seems to be all the owners are counting on. Floors can be swept and cobwebs removed before guests check in, in or out of season.
It's in a beautiful place and the views are breathtaking. The facilities are basic, but completely adequate. Those with any mobility issues should stay well away from Honeybee and Porcupine. We booked for one night specifically in Rooikat because the facilities were not shared and because the facilities showed easier access on the website. We were contacted three days in advance and informed that someone with a longer booking would now be staying in Rooikat and that we would be staying in Honeybee. I explained that I had undergone knee surgery, but was assured that Porcupine would be closed for the evening so we still wouldn't have to share facilities. I was also assured that I would be able to reach the nearby bathroom and kitchen with ease. This was not the case. I couldn't reach the bathroom or kitchen without my husband's assistance and that put a big damper on our time there. There is no mention of the difficult, steep (and very slippery when it rains) path to the bathroom and kitchen and, had I known this in advance, we certainly would not have accepted the exchange to Honeybee. The poor customer service was a great pity for such a nice place.

The most beautiful view I've ever seen in a quiet space. Exactly what is needed for a quiet breakaway with family or a spouse.
Our stay was very pleasant. The cabins are excellently located with breathtaking views. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay there again.
The owners are always very welcoming and are available on site for any problems. We had no need to worry them because all is clean and and well maintained. The place is quiet with only the sounds of birds and wind in the trees. Three loeries and a fish eagle among some of the sightings.

Rooms are a bit small with hanging and storage space for clothing. The kitchen and braai area is very neat and comfortable with a wonderful view of the valley.

The rooms have no storage space for luggage. It is somewhat cramped. The kitchen also needs one larger pan than it currently has.
