Seehuisie is a double storey holiday house located a mere 50m from the ocean and is situated in Duinepark in Witsand, a small coastal town, Western Cape South Africa, where the Breede River and Indian Ocean meet. The name Witsand’s origin is Dutch for wide or broad. The house can only accommodate 4 adults and 2 children.
The house consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a spacious open-plan living area including the kitchen, a dining area including table and chairs to host 6 guests, indoor braai as well as an outside deck.
The master bedroom is on the second floor, tastefully furnished with a double bed, bedside tables, lovely spacious built-in cupboards and fitted with en-suite bathroom.
The bathroom is modern with smooth finishes and boasts a freestanding oval tub. The second and third bedrooms are located on the ground floor and share the ground floor bathroom. One is furnished with a cozy double bed and the other with a bunk bed. These rooms too have built-in cupboards. The ground floor bathroom is fitted with a shower, a basin and a toilet.
The lounge presents comfortable seating, a TV with DStv channels and a good size coffee table for game nights.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a combination fridge-freezer, a microwave, a stove, a oven, a washing machine and a dishwasher. Leading out from the living area is a spacious wooden deck where guests can enjoy a partial ocean view.
The house also features a single lock-up garage and additional undercover parking.
The entire house is at your disposal, it is not shared with other guests. The house is situated in a very safe area where children can run and play, go to the beach in walking distance from the house, swim in the tidal pool or look for seashells enjoying the sunshine and sea air.

We had a freak incident with the next door house, where the barge board broke off and fell on our vehicle and caused some damage to the bonnet. The owner of our unit made contact with us and is in the process of finding an amicable solution. Other than that we had a good stay.
The location of the house is perfect, it is very safe in the park and you are only 30m from the sea. Als was neat and clean.

We had a wonderful stay. Seehuisie is beautiful and really fully equipped.
Stayed very well and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. The shower was blocked, so was forced to take out the step, so that water can go down the drain faster.
A little over priced. 1 bedside table per bedroom? Need 2. Plugs in main bedroom not sufficient for heater or bedside light. Need to put wifi password and into info leaflet. Dustpan and hand broom needed to be visible for braai area to be cleaned. Loose blankets need airing beforehand.
It was a misrepresentation of the location ie not on the beach?
We love the accommodation. Would love to stay longer next time. Unfortunately Eskom hit us with Stage 6 load shedding during our stay, but that didn't spoil the fun.
We had a very nice stay. Only problem was the shower that dammed up and leaked and needed repair.

What an awesome place to stay. The unit was clean and safe with everything we might need. The owner even arranged more gas as we had run out with the increased loadshedding. The beaches are safe and clean and we had a great visit. We will be back soon. Highly recommended.
House has everything you need. The beach is clean and you can have a nice, long walk. Quiet and peaceful, lots of whale sightings.

Lovely clean accommodation close to the beach. Enjoyed the bath! Even though it's a partial view of the sea, it is still a lovely view. The house is in a complex so just be aware that the two parking spaces available were difficult to park as road is narrow especially if you are driving a large vehicle or towing a trailer. Other than that, a lovely place for a family holiday.
Seehuisie is nicely laid out with a living area and master bedroom upstairs. The built in braai was lovely and we saw 4 whales. We were a little disappointed that the DSTV was not activated, and there was no WiFi. The signal is very bad there and we contacted 2 people but they were not helpful. None came back to us over the WiFi. We also asked for advice about the road, but did not get a message until the next day.

Tania made us feel at home even before we entered the house. And wow! Wasn't it beautiful inside! So much effort has been put into it. Until with reading books for our 3-year-old and 1-year-old. The English saying for the weekend describes our experience: home away from home. My boy and my mother enjoyed the whales the most, and that from our porch. It was just breathtakingly beautiful, especially drinking your first cup of coffee on the porch and looking at the sea and whales. Thank you very much Tania!

Seehuisie offers everything one needs. It's comfortable with a garage and a carport. Regardless of the fact that it is close to other houses it was quiet. Great treat to be so close to the sea. For small children it is a festival. We would love to go again.

Seehuisie is well located so you can be at the sea every day. It is very safe for children to play in the area and the house is more than suitable for 6 people.

We had a great time. The house was very nice clean and tidy. We did struggle to keep our 1 year old away from the stairs, perhaps not ideal for a family with a baby. The braai place in the living area makes everything feel nice and cozy. Will definitely recommend.
Parking space limited - not for double cab bakkie. Steep, narrow stairs to the top for carrying up cooler boxes etc. Risk for the elderly.

Every one of us really enjoyed it. There was definitely something to do for each of us. My wife and daughter could have a good time, rest in silence and pick up shells. My boys and I had fun fishing and hiking. We wanted to explore the place a little more, but the time was too short. The weekend was too short. We will definitely go again. We visited Seehuisie twice in two months, because we enjoyed our stay so much! The attention to detail, the cleanliness and the cosy atmosphere make it the ideal place for a family to relax. Everything we needed was provided, we could make delicious food in the kitchen, and just jog down to the sea. Ideal for a night, or a week or a month, doesn't matter. Sea House is our family's home away from home!
We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon. Not the best weather, but it was wonderful to just be able to lie on the couch and read books while you can see the sea. Sitting in the evenings at the indoor braai. The cottage was beautiful, neat and clean and equipped with everything you need! After a busy time, our souls really got some rest here. We would very much like to visit the Seehuisie again one day.
Seehuisie was everything we could have hoped for and more! The location was ideal, the facilities were well equipped and the house was spotless and tidy. Everything we could need was provided, we had such a great stay we were sad to go home. The finishes are luxurious but practical, with a beautiful sea view on the veranda. The kitchen and indoor braai are just right, all set up to accommodate a stay for any length of time. The sea is a stone's throw away, ideal beach with shells and tidal pool for small children. The outdoor shower came in very handy for sandy bodies and feet. Our hostess Tania was very helpful and made sure we had all the details we needed. We will definitely be back soon!

Nice house, but fairly expensive in comparison with other apartments. No WiFi available. Supplies were limited (e.g. coffee, towels, toilet paper). Sea view is available from the terrace but the house is on the second row towards the sea.
Beautiful place! Well equipped with the necessary. Only the parking - very narrow street which makes parking difficult especially if you drive a larger vehicle.
Everything was perfect, especially the view. We had a very nice weekend. Will definitely use Seehuisie again.

Nice cozy place with a delicious indoor barbecue. Comfortable couches and kitchenette all upstairs. Good communication from start to finish. There was someone to welcome us and later checked in to make sure everything was OK. Easy and quick access to beach. Feel free to take the fishing rod with you.
We had a wonderful time in the well-equipped and tidy house and can really recommend it. We were also able to regularly watch whales from the living room.

It was a lovely holiday. Seehuisie is very well equipped. All you need to take is food and clothes. We enjoyed it very much. The indoor braai is a big bonus and very cosy.

We had a very nice stay. The house was neatly and comfortably furnished. Would suggest getting a wooden board (if there was one we couldn't find it). We had to wash the crockery we used first as it was dirty and streaky. There was also no salt in the dishwasher so unfortunately it didn't wash clean. You don't usually bring spare garbage bags with you, so maybe the owners should leave one or 2 extra.
Parking in Duinepark is always a problem. The neighbours will park you in if you park at the beach house. Apart from that we have a nice stay. Thanks for the neat house.

Very friendly welcome, was extremely clean and has everything you need. View is perfect. We as a family all hung out upstairs all day, barbecue was perfect, kitchen, bathrooms, oh if only were perfect.

We have visited Witsand and Duinepark often. It was our first stay in Seehuisie and, just like our stay at all of the other place (booked through LekkeSlaap) the accommodation was peaceful, refreshing and just plain great.
Seehuisie is 'n lovely little place just round the corner from the beach. You wake each morning with the sound of the ocean in the background. For people wanting to get away from the city's hustle and bustle this is an Eden of tranquility and peace!

Very nice house - nice bathrooms and living area. Stylishly furnished - with the right seaside decor. Nothing of "grandmother's African heritage" is exhibited.
We had a great time, everything was neat and comfortable. We would have wanted to stay a bit longer on the Sunday morning, but they had to prepare for the next group that would have arrived that afternoon. The stairs are quite steep, may present a problem for older people. The view from the top is stunning. Tania made us feel at home.

The main bedroom and living area are reached via stairs and therefore may not be suitable for young children, older guests or guests with disabilities.Pets are not allowed.
