We really enjoyed our stay! Everything you might need is there - even for loadshedding (and the braai and fireplace are packed, ready to light!). Deck was highlight for us - beautiful!
Perfect location - it feels far out of town, away from all the noise, but it's 3 mins from the town centre! Very well equipped and if there was a power cut, no problem. Very clean, tidy and special attention to detail. Even the braai and fireplace were packed and ready to light.
We enjoyed our stay. Sep se Plek is great for a young family. The swimming pool was a treat on a hot day! The cottage has everything you need, except for a hairdryer. We loved the deck overlooking the pond with ducks. The location is perfect for exploring Franschhoek. The back-up power was a big bonus; load shedding was no problem.

Beautiful on a farm and the river by your side.
The house is cold, because it is so between and under the trees and gets little sun, but there is a lovely fireplace in the living area and a heater in the bedroom.

I am so glad that I came across this vacation home, we stayed at cottage 1 which was situated over a little dam it was absolutely breathtaking. At night we could sit by the fire and listen to the sounds of nature and water running but besides all of the natural beauty, the attention to detail is what really got me. From the warm fuzzy blankets to the scented bath towels it made the entire experience absolutely phenomenal. Thank you so much to our host we will definitely be making this a regular getaway spot.

We had a wonderful and peaceful stay. The house is neat and clean, so among the trees and bushes. Even saw a squirrel, which was pretty darn cute. We will definitely go again.
I really can't fault Sep's Place and it was a great weekend away. House no. 3 is closest to the pool and I believe it has the most privacy. One thing that was an unpleasant story was the frogs that made so much noise in the evening. We had to go and get earplugs on Saturday to be able to sleep a little better. I don't know if it's like this all year round but go prepared and pack a set of earplugs. I love nature and sounds, but wow, this was on another level. Still a great weekend away and we will go again!
My sister and I took a weekend break to beautiful Franschoek. Sep's Place was the perfect home if you are looking for peace and quiet. It is a beautiful place among the orchards with the soothing sounds of the little river. Only 2 km from the town and is extremely safe. We will definitely visit again!
I spent two nights in cottage 2 at Sep's Place. The cottage is excellently equipped and the fact that you are far enough from the town to enjoy farm life and yet close enough that you can be at Woolies in 5 minutes is a win. I slept like a baby at night after sitting outside until late listening to the frog's ear. I saw a squirrel lying flat head down against the trunk of a giant tree to drink water, it was precious. The birds in the area woke me up early but gently. I highly recommend Sep se Plek to someone who likes to travel alone and wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city without being too far from shops and restaurants, Franschhoek remains a festival. I would love to visit again in the summer so I can enjoy the spicy pool. Thank you very much for your hospitality and excellent arrangements, Suzaan, it was excellent!
Sep's place is surrounded by exceptionally beautiful scenery and this makes the experience a pleasure for one's soul. We had a great time lazing around the barbecue with a glass of wine or with a nice cup of hot chocolate around the fireplace. It's amazing what a nice getaway to a safe place with your loved ones can do for your mood. We will definitely make sure to stop by Sep se Plek again.
We spent 2 nights here. The fireplace was lovely and we could hang out until late at night. The owls calling to each other was a highlight.

The service we received exceeded our expectations. We had a 4 night week day stay for our honeymoon and it really was the small gestures that meant the most. We were welcomed with a bottle of sparkling wine, fresh peaches from the grounds we were staying on and a beautiful bunch of flowers. A special thank you for the caretaker Simon for your kindness and always being willing to assist. After day 2 we actually wanted to extend our stay for another 2 nights but the cottage was unfortunately booked. We are definitely returning.

The shower is a big deal. I think the water that doesn't drain right onto the shower floor needs to be looked at. It's a mess. The bathroom door is also in the way. I think they should consider a different type of door. The breakware was broken. There are too few breakables and it is no longer in good condition. There was no WiFi so the TV couldn't work either. There was only half a toilet roll available for 3 people for 2 nights. When we reported the problems the person who helped us was very unfriendly - half annoyed. Even the contact person sounded curt and said she lives far from the farm (which can also be a problem). Would not recommend the place.
Not only is it an incredible setting and barely 5 minutes outside the beautiful town of Franschhoek, but the cottage was very comfortable, clean and tidy.

Suzaan is a gracious and kind host who runs a really tranquil and serene space, perfect for budget-conscious travellers who enjoy all the comforts of the country life in the Boland. Truly, for the money, I can't think of a better place to stay in Franschhoek. Air conditioning is unavailable (but of little concern due to all the lovely shade) and some elements are being remodelled/upgraded presently (so fit-'n-finish isn't quite perfect in places) so the more discerning guests may scoff, but this is a wonderful place. We come back every year and it feels most homely. It's also a very convenient 2 minutes from the centre of town, which is great for more social folks. I can't recommend it enough!
Suzaan received us with a warm welcome and did all she could to make our stay more enjoyable. Sep se Plek is located in a beautiful garden on their farm just outside Franschhoek. We stayed in Unit 1, a spacious log house - bedroom size is sufficient and bathrooms clean and up to standard. Sep se Plek is not a luxurious estate (as many in this area) but we would definitely recommend the place to anyone looking for peace and quiet on well kept premises.
The wine farms, car museum, numerous restaurants and other attractions in the area are an experience.
Furnishings are a bit old and tired.

Sep Se Plek is highly recommended, it's just a few minutes from town and close to many wine farms to choose from. Lovely little pool with a great braai area on the patio of the first cottage. Suzaan even came to fetch us when we had trouble finding the location.

We were a group of 4 and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had a bbq on the outdoor porch braai and had everything you could need to cook and eat with. Great security and friendly owner. Sad to have only booked one night as Franschhoek is a beautiful area.

What a gem we found! Sep se Plek was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The cottage itself was to our expectations and well equipped for a few days away. The undercover braai area perfect as we had a bit of rain over the long weekend in September and the inside fireplace fantastic for those chilly evenings. Comfortable beds and furniture in the lounge area, happy with everything and Suzaan a very welcoming hostess - we will certainly visit again!
This cabin in an old riverbed is in the middle of the orchard together with another 2 holiday homes. The house has a great view of the water and it's nice to stay there and sit on the patio.

Our long weekend was fantastic thanks to Sep Se Plek. We could have a nice barbecue by the stoep and swimming pool on the hot days and relax snuggly with the fireplace in the cold evenings. Have had some of our best times at Sep se Plek. Absolutely adore it, we were lucky enough to catch the peach blossoms in blossom this year and last. Have been there many times and will definitely go again! It's extra special because we got married next door and for the bridal party stayed at Sep se Plek, worked beautifully.

One wants to stay on at Sep se Plek. Very convenient cottage, beautiful scenery and a stone's through from the beautiful Franschhoek.
Let me be straight. There were positives and less positives about this place. Positives: The owner was waiting for us and showed us around on arrival, the place was absolutely clean and fully functional. It lies hidden, surrounded by orchards and other vegetation. Less positives: There was a certain negligence on maintenance of the surroundings. Although functional, the furnishment was a bit mixed and not kept in a consistent style. And some was quite outdated e.g. the TV was still a classic tube model. The large sliding door with large side panel (both glass) had no curtains or blinds, preventing privacy in the living area. By the way, these two critiques of mine had been mentioned in the guestbook by previous tenants (2 years back) and did obviously not receive attention. The swimming pool is rather small and was not too well maintained. In summary, if it was not for the small TV, I might recommend this place for sports enthusiasts with whatever goes with a good rugby day.
Huisie 2 offers everything one needs, but is very spit and paste in terms of decor and overall feel. Although the cottage was clean on arrival, there was no housekeeping at all during our stay, and this was not communicated to us. The towels smelled like old linen closets, and were already old. It was good overnight accommodation for us and offers a good location, we also enjoyed the braai and stoepie. We received fresh plums which we appreciated, they were fantastically tasty.
Single bed mattresses, pillows, towels, linen and bathrooms in need of some desperate upgrading. Place has a lot of potential.
