The neighbours are quite noisy. No lights or anything were provided for loadshedding. A little maintenance needed. Bath rail loose and bath plug not working properly. Double bed mattress broken on one side.
The bathroom light did not work. The shower was blocked up resulting in water running into the bathroom area and having to use towels to prevent this.
Bathrooms and linen pathetic. Towels were like rags. Maids cleaned only once. Unit 51 can't close bathroom door and unit 68 can't close the bedroom door. Cannot regulate water in both units' showers. Pressure shot up for a guest after showering Saturday, rushed to the hospital nearby. Cockroach in kitchen unit 68. Were told water is an issue, but unit 9's shower was perfect.
Very far from everything so not ideal.
Our first night while watching TV, we had house friends 'cockroaches'. Took a pic and send it to Charmaine who sent the manager the Saturday morning. The double bed in the room squeezed when you lay or turn, hardly slept comfortably. The manager came the next morning, a very arrogant old lady and she had the audacity to tell my husband that we brought the roaches with us. She left, brought doom but the same evening we were visited by roaches again. She never accommodated us by moving us to another location and never offered to reimburse us for the pathetic time we had over the Easter Weekend. I wish I could post pics of the roaches and poor quality of the bed as I kept it as proof. The old lady, don't know if she is the owner, should change her ugly attitude and fumigate and upgrade her pathetic apartment. It was a super unpleasant Easter Weekend for us. Anyone reading this, do not book Serengeti self-catering apartments. Oh, one last thing, we had to buy our own wash up and dry off cloths as there were none.
Serengeti Self Catering Units is safe, beautiful and very comfortable with the most popular and modern amenities that you can find.

We thought we were at home at the Serengeti apartments, but were pleasantly surprised with the accommodation at The Cliffs.
Unit had everything needed. Maybe just a battery operated light or 2 for loadshedding.

Had a really nice stay. Serengeti Self Catering Units are well located and close enough to all the attractions. Would definitely stay again but not near the pool. Last Sunday, people made a lot of noise there and swam without swimwear, only in panties without bras. Wasn't good for my son who could see on the pool. Otherwise it was a lovely holiday.
The place we stayed in was very nice and well kept we were very happy.
It was very pleasant to be there, especially the pool for the little ones. Safety was top notch and the proximity to centers and not too far from all the places you want to be.
Accommodation was excellent, area very quiet and guests respect each other.

The only concern was that we were not aware that the place accommodates permanent residents and we were a group of 20 and split between the permanent residents. We were a group of cousins who met after 2 to 3 decades and of course the excitement was high and were very happy to see each other and share memories with so much laughter, which became a bit noisy at times and were were asked to keep our voices down which was a concern to us. Maybe they should put all permanent residents together if they accommodate weekenders and holiday goers as well. We never made music either as the message I received from one of the units as there was another group of weekenders playing music and braaiing behind our unit.
Only one apartment's security lock was broken and it didn't have a hair dryer.
Renovation of bathroom could be improved. Customers are reminded to park correctly. Customers are reminded to keep accommodation clean and ensure that it is clean and tidy before leaving the site.
There was a hairdryer but no plug to plug it into. Take your own three-point plugs with you.

Unfortunately the unit we stayed in was very dated in terms of furniture & fittings, as well as cutlery and crockery, it created an impression of untidiness and neglect. Nevertheless Serengeti Self Catering Units is well located if you need to be somewhere in Northern Suburbs and we never felt unsafe.

The place was infested with cockroaches and the carpets was extremely dirty. There were no brush to clean the braai grills and no braai equipment whatsoever. Shower leaked as well. Beds was full of bed bugs.
We have been booking accommodation through the website for years and this is the first time we have not found a neat unit. Apartment needs good cleaning. Bedding was not fresh, especially single bed. The bedding was full of dust and the kitchen needed renovation. Kitchenware already worn out. Bedside lights don't work.

Booked in on the 20th February until 21 February, requested to book in early morning was granted. Manager came knocking telling me I need to leave. I explained I only arrived the morning while she spoke to the agency that verified my arrival. Still continued to say that depending on what the security say will determine whether I stay or not. She never returned. The agency was sincere and apologised on her behalf. However for her attitude and false accusations she needs to own up. Felt unwelcome definitely spoiled everything.

In the Cape heat a fan or two will add a lot of value while limited glasses will probably bother if more than 2 people stay in the 5 bed! But we were very very happy.

The apartments we were given were terribly dirty when we arrived except for one, number 8. All five of our apartments were not cleaned in one day, despite what the email confirmation said. We go to the Cape every year and this was the most unpleasant place to stay from a cleanliness point of view that we have ever experienced!

The owners are very friendly and always there to assist. It's a home away from home. The one thing I didn't like was the carpets in the units! I just do not like carpets in bedrooms, they tend to have an unpleasant smell. And there is no WI-FI! But generally I was happy.

Location is good. Only 3 of everything is available which was a bit disappointing. no extra glasses for guests. Bathroom needs an upgrade. Shower curtain and bathroom curtain sticks to your body. Needs an upgrade.

Lovely stay but bathrooms not completely clean and you feel quite uncomfortable when you have to use the facilities. Fridge needs to be replaced and sliding door to balcony is going to fall out of frame in no time. Sink plugs would also be appreciated. Otherwise very comfortable and value for money.
No home care the whole time we were there. If you do not have transport, it's hell.
We came from Namibia and were very impressed by the safety and spotless buildings. The apartments were equipped with everything we needed, 100%.

They can spend a little more on the upkeep of the unit for example the shower tiles, basin taps, bath handels, bath taps for washing hair and the door between the bedroom and bathroom can be replaced. There could also be some hooks for washcloths and a water bottle in the fridge. They also need to level the fridge. Other than that the unit is comfortable and prettily laid out.
Very well organized and the people were friendly and very helpful. I would definitely stay there again. It is very centrally located and the security is more than enough. Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to use your place.

Only problem: safe did not work. The owner was there and saw I wanted to put away my cash and cards. I was mugged on Friday evening and lost R4000, my driver's licence, ID, bank cards, etc. Please ask the owners of no 73 to make sure that the safe is working.

It fulfilled reason we used it for. If I had to complain about something, I would replace the tub with a shower. We are shower people. Was a bit uncomfortable to shower in a bath, especially my mother was afraid to shower like that. She has trouble getting in and out of a bath.

Good value for money. Bathroom can be upgraded, shower curtain not effective, the whole floor was constantly under water. They say that the flat is cleaned Mondays and Fridays, but we checked out Tuesday and therefore our flat was skipped over on Monday and so our towels were dirty and the bins overfull.
You don't see anyone to check you in or out. Check-in only at 16:00. That is very late, especially if you just want to unpack and freshen-up for a doctor's visit in the city. When you check out you are asked via a letter to lock the doors and leave the keys on the kitchen counter? A bit difficult with key locks. Everything was neat and in place. Quaint little place. Not the latest and greatest, but at the rate it's good value for money. A bit noisy at times, but not too bad and never late at night either.
I was only disappointed in the fact that some of the guests had such a commotion in the parking area on Saturday night/Sunday morning. I would stay there again as it is comfortably furnished and very close to Tiger Valley Centre.
Our stay was quite comfortable. I just think it needs a very good clean. We also indicated that there was an extra child in the 3 sleeper unit and even though an extra mattress was provided, there were no towel, crockery, cutlery etc. for the child.

The complex is nice and quiet and centrally located. Everything was neat and clean.
The previous unit we stayed in was much better and cleaner than this unit. The bathroom had a bad smell and there was mildew and soap scum around the bath. The bathroom drain wasn't clean. Some of the crockery in the kitchen cupboards was still fatty from previous use. We weren't impressed with the hygiene in the unit and will consider another establishment next time. Upon arrival on Friday night, there were two men walking around the complex with beer bottles in hand, and were clearly under the influence. We didn't feel very safe.
Value for money, we can't complain about the customer service, location and safety. We only had a problem with the tidiness. When we walked into the apartment, and the whole unit smelt bad. It wasn't really a stuffy smell but it had a sour mushroom sauce smell. We opened the windows, but it didn't help. It was terrible. We smelt the rugs, but it wasn't coming from them. The bedding and curtains were clean even the towels. Me and my husband couldn't sleep due to the bad smell. We couldn't contact the owners immediately or even the agents at LekkeSlaap, because we arrived in the Cape on the Wednesday afternoon from the Northern Cape. It was an 8-hour drive, and my 8 year-old had a fever of 42 degrees. She had bronchitis. On Thursday morning, I had to check-in at the Louis Leipoldt Hospital and my husband had to sit with her. By the afternoon I was done, and we went back to Serengeti apartments, and the smell was still there. We couldn't stand it. At 14:00 we decided to look for other accommodation, and I had to rush to get my daughter's medication. As I explained to the LekkeSlaap agent on the Friday morning, me and my husband didn't have time to complain or to call. If your first impression is bad, you wouldn't want to stay there any longer. We went to Cape Town for medical reasons, we had to rush around for other reasons, and my daughter was extremely sick which made it worse. Friday morning was the first time that I could call and complain. I asked the agent if our money could be refunded for the Friday to the Monday. We arrived on the Wednesday and checked out on Thursday. We had to stay until the Tuesday. I haven't received any response. Other visitors could easily check-in on Friday. But anyway, this review is already lengthy. I won't stay there again. I'm sure nobody else experienced the problems we did. I'm not slandering Serengeti. But we didn't have a nice experience. For anyone who wants to stay there, make sure everything is fine, because you pay a lot. Report any problems immediately, not like we did. Those parents with small children will understand when you struggle for 3 days to break your child's fever, and she's on medication!

We just needed a place to sleep because we were busy all weekend. The apartment therefore met our needs and was comfortable and very clean. If we come to Cape Town for holiday, however, it will be a bit too far from places like the beach, waterfront etc. off.

These are very nice places to stay. All that put us off a bit was the beauty. The tub was dirty with the old dirty ring still around the tub. When we wanted to clean it there were no cloths or anything to do it with... But otherwise our stay was pleasant. Would recommend it!
Neat, safe and well equipped.
I realize that it is self-catering and the apartment is not cleaned every day. I just wish they would at least remove the garbage. After 2 days, our little bin was full and when I asked the cleaners, they told me I had to go and throw it in a bin far away. I stay in the units a lot and previous times my drum has been cleaned, towels changed etc.
Comfortable place. We arrived very late and left very early, but we arranged ahead of time and everything went smoothly. We got a little lost, but from there there were no further problems at all.
Close to major shopping center, close to N1. Safe entrance, nice parking and very good and immediate help from Chris Swart with the TV that broke down.

The apartment has everything you need, the buildings around are not very neat, but the apartment itself inside is neat and clean.
We rented an apartment for 3 different families (6 adults in total). The stove did not work and there was only 1 roll of toilet paper for a 2 night stay. My recommendation would be to upgrade the apartments to 4-star to eliminate noisy elements (groups) and meet the users' basic needs. Appreciated the caretaker who made a stove available for us in another apartment.
There were only three bar stools for a place of four people. There was no deeper glass bowl that could be used for the microwave.

The unit was stuffy and we waited a long time for someone to come unlock it for us late at night, otherwise neat and clean.
I had a pleasant stay however I would recommend that air-conditions be put up in the room. Then I believe that the accommodation would be 100% satisfactory to its clients. Thanks for all your efforts.
