We were received very kindly and the owners were very keen to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Place is very neatly maintained. Their pizzas were delicious!
Firstly it rained the whole time we were there. There is no hot shower. And with the rain a cold shower was horrible. There was nothing for us to do on the camp. There is only 1 tv in the bar area and it was too cold to sit there. When it was time to leave the roads were flooded and the host said we will have to stay an extra 2 days and we didn't budget for that. Their rate was higher than what we had booked through the website. We also didn't have enough food to stay longer. The host told us there is only 1 road going out and when we decided to get on the road we were shown an alternative route by the other locals. The host knew about the alternate route but didn't want to tell us because he wanted us to stay longer. When I messaged the host and told him about the other route he was not surprised. There were other people stranded at the camp and I told him to tell them but he didn't. We were told there's Wi-Fi but there was nothing when we got there.
We had a very nice weekend with family for my mother's 60'th birthday. The people were very nice and helpful, but there were a few maintenance issues. There was also additional costs that I was not aware of until after booking, like a fee for sanitizing. But overall value for money.
If you are the bushcamp type person, then this one will work for you.
Wasn't cleaned before we came but had to pay for sanitation of rooms. On the day we left a list of things was sent to take with them that they didn't have. Bad road to drive.
Rest and enjoy the hospitality of the owner and his wife.
Ideal getaway from the city's noise. The fact that there wasn't a TV was ideal. One could have a nice conversation.
A few small things that I would have liked differently, for example microwave oven and hot water in kitchen. Other than that, it was quite pleasant.
Onthou dis net 'n boskamp, nie 'n boslodge nie. Baie stil en rustig, lieflike kamp om by te bly. Het 'n kroeg nodig.
Neat and tidy. A very nice bush experience. Comfortable and cosy to stay in.
Despite the few kilos of dirt road, it is a small oasis in the middle of the woodland. Just big enough and with the necessary to keep the children and grandchildren busy. Sonette and Lourens are very pleasant and hospitable people. The bush cabins were comfortable and clean with air conditioners which are essential in those regions. If I can suggest, hot water in the kitchenette and maybe a small microwave in each cabin would be useful especially if there are little ones drinking bottles etc. Otherwise it was a lovely woodland break!
