Accommodation comprises basic, standard and executive rooms, with family rooms and rondavels also available. Each room is furnished with either a double bed or twin beds and offer a private, en-suite bathroom fitted with either a bath or shower. The standard family rooms can accommodate up to 2 adults and 1 child a double bed and a single bed, while the Executive Family Room sleeps 4 adults. In-room amenities include air-conditioning, a Smart TV with Netflix/ShowMax and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Complimentary Wi-Fi access is also available.

We still need some playing equipment and extra swimming pools, game drives and braai areas.

Nice, friendly staff. Unit requires general maintenance. The plug was broken and hazardous. The toilet leaked, and the bedside drawer was broken. The food was great.

Was very disappointed, the standing water in ponds smelled very bad and furniture in room was broken. Bathroom door could not close. My reservation that I made on the 28th of March was not on their books and I felt like a fool. Had to wait over half an hour for them to locate it after a 300km drive there. Really very dissatisfied with the service.

Very quiet and relaxing. Great food. The room we were placed in was very old and did not feel clean. Can really do with an upgrade.

Had a lot of trouble getting it done in the morning because we couldn't see anything. Lights in room extremely weak. Bathroom clean but definitely not worth 4 stars! We chose the buffet meal for dinner because it is quite out of town and it was extremely poor! R165 per head paid for porridge, sauce, pork sausage, dry piece of chicken and tough chuck that was fried! All that was positive was that the porridge and sauce were very tasty and the waiter gets a 5 star!

"Disappointed in the room, no 21."

Area by pool was full of rubbish. Restaurant dinner is not good value for money. Staff is pleasant. Air conditioner made terrible noise, ants on the bed every night and while we were sleeping. Not 4 star.

On arrival waited 15 min for someone at reception. Had to ask for another room because the bath enamel was starting to peel. For dinner, they did not have oxtail pot available as on the A-la-Carte menu. Bed and breakfast was paid in advance. First breakfast arrives ice cold and congealed fat on the plate. One cannot eat it. Next dinner rather not dare. Next breakfast also not taken. Unpleasant experience!

"Comfortable overnight accommodation."

The unit we were in could do with some new mattresses. Breakfast was very good. The gardens are beautiful.

I had the Executive suite and there is a lot of maintenance that can be done. The one chair in the entrance hall is broken - the tiles in the shower and grout need attention. The sink where it comes against the wall definitely needs attention as well. The carpets have stains on them.

"If it weren't for the very friendly, professional staff, this hotel would be very unpleasant considering it is rated as a 4 star hotel."

The hotel has a lot of potential, but unfortunately in some areas it is rather dilapidated. Most things in our room could have just been cleaned with a feather duster, water and soap. It is quite disturbing to have to stir my coffee in my room with a plastic spoon, seeing that it is rated as a 4 star hotel. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The restaurant was very overpriced, but the delicious breakfast was very good value for money.

One night over, the food served in the restaurant is really very good. The owner is phenomenal with his customer service.

"Deterioration."

Must have been a paradise once upon a time, but sadly has fallen into disrepair.

"It was very disappointing! Room does not look like the photos at all!"

The site was strewn with rubbish everywhere. The ashtray on the porch in front of the room was full of cigarette butts. The room in general was dusty and the bathtub was dirty. The bed was very uncomfortable and that mattress should have been replaced 5 years ago. They don't see me again!

It was the perfect getaway. It's still, quiet and the smell of fresh air a bonus! The customer service was top notch, our waiter for the whole weekend was Andrew, he was friendly, quick and Afrikaans-speaking. All I would have liked was a fridge in the room.

"Disappointing stay."

"Executive family room" was very disappointing. Right above the kitchen, a shebeen and "porch". Music plays loudly from 06:00-22:00. Kitchen starts making noise at 6am. Mattresses slept through, no bathroom cabinets or bedroom closets. The specific accommodation is hardly 3 star. We didn't stay the second night, instead went home. Brought it to management's attention.

Breakfast is exceptional. Rooms are neat and clean, but needs a bit of renovation. Bathrooms are dark and cramped unfortunately.

"Not at all what we expected. Not the place for us."

We arrived in the evening. The road to our room, parking and path to walk to the room were all pitch black. No light in sight. We felt very unsafe. Room was covered with mosquitoes. Toilet stank and leaked. We called at 21:30 for room service (we couldn't walk into the dark dining hall, very dark and unsafe). We were told that we could not order because the kitchen closes at 10pm. Go to bed without dinner. Will definitely not stay there again.

The room was very musty...it smelled like the place had been standing for a long time, and that there was a water leak. There were mosquitoes everywhere in the bathroom. When the people next door take a shower, you hear the suction of the drain in our shower. The breakfast was nice. The spa is only one room and not professional at all, the treatments are also completely overpriced!

Close enough and far enough from Gauteng - beautiful resort for clearing your mind and getting away for a few days.

We enjoyed it very much. The service and the food were very good. It's a nice place to relax.

The rooms were not up to standard at all. The furniture was broken and the carpets in the room were dirty. It started raining during the night, our bathroom was under water due to a leak in the thatched roof. The main building and the lounge and restaurant were very nice, but it is more on par with a 4 star, but the rest was just a little creepy.

"A beautiful peaceful place, country living with style."

We loved our stay, we were treated like celebrities. Thabo was so attentive, thank you. Ouma Emie had a challenge to get to the dining room through the disability entrance, it took her a hour to reach the door from the car. The next morning she has the sense to order in breakfast, but would have enjoyed being with myself and my brother. An idea would be to have two or three Golf cars for these people. We will come again and hope that we meet Thabo again. Thanks for a lovely time. Linda (Lynne) Adrian and Emmie Pieterse.

"A pleasant surprise!"

Two people deserve special compliments: Jackson at reception on Saturday evening and Kate who did table service at breakfast. Jackson must be permanently on reception - his personality is absolutely so inviting, you want to go back there just to chat with him. Kate was very professional in her actions and she deserves a management position in the specific area.

"Tropical scenery and a great Hotel "

Just an hour and a half out of Johannesburg you will find this gem very close to Bela Bela. Fall in love with the decor and tropical feel of the garden and pool. You will be tempted to just relax and forget about everything. This is more of an adult breakaway as kids soon become restless. Fortunately very close to other family hot spots. Very beautiful wedding venue.

The dinner menu was limited (especially if you were going to stay a few nights) and the wine prices exorbitant. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful.

The fact that the staff were prepared to serve us a late meal in our room at no extra charge was amazing - the food was fantastic as well as your breakfast - serve all round was terrific - staff were polite and accommodating - the only issue was finding your establishment from Warmbaths we felt there was not enough signage.

The rooms could have been better equipped - more towels, products, candles for the candle holders and someone to show you to your room especially when it's dark - we didn't have a torch and our outside light was not on, so we walked around looking for the room, but all in all we really enjoyed our stay (nice memories).

Maintenance can be upgraded in the rooms. Noise in bar is disturbing as the atmosphere in restaurant is romantic with calm music.. Something that people of the city enjoy and appreciate. Bedrooms comfortable and mattress is good quality. Overall a wonderful experience..

"We had a great time, very relaxing pleasant weekend"

Great: Fairytale garden; exceptionally friendly polite helpful staff, for all the staff members we met. Lovely decor in public areas, very eclectic, not your usual boring hotel furnishings. Outstanding food, great service, a meal I ordered was not available; there was a huge wedding that day, the chef came to talk to me and prepared a special meal for me! The little welcome messages in the room are a nice touch. Enjoyed the monkeys and the cats in the garden. Nice area with lots of things to seen. Not so great: The rondavel we stayed in smelt strongly of damp / mildew. The bath looked like it had been re-enameled, and a layer was peeling off, the surface is very rough and gives the impression of not being clean, in my opinion it should be replaced. The rondavel had no privacy at all, we had to keep the curtains front and back closed, maybe a screen or lace curtains or blinds would help, with the curtains drawn it is very dark. Otherwise, a lovely stay.

"It is a very nice getaway place."

We had fun - kids enjoyed the pool and the interesting antiques. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was incredible.
