224 guests' feedbackHad an amazing stay, was such a lush location. We really enjoyed the pool area and the unit we stayed in (Ubuntu) was so well equipped. Fantastic staff that are so friendly.
It was great, the staff and host are very friendly. They checked up on us and kept us in the loop. Unfortunately, we couldn't have breakfast as the chef was not okay, but they informed us and apologised for that. It is indeed a good place to come and relax away from the busy city life.
It was very nice. We enjoyed it very much. Cute place and will definitely visit again. My mother fell over her own bag while packing and broke her leg, they were there immediately and assisted us through everything. Would also help if I had to sleep over another night to be close to my mother. Heart people for which I am so grateful. One has more such.
It was very nice, the unit we were in was very well laid out and the people were very helpful and friendly.
We had a lovely stay in our cottage and enjoyed the beautiful property and surroundings. Harry and the maintenance team stood out. They are very capable and efficient people.
It is a very peaceful place. Been close to everything. The service is fantastic with friendly staff. Will go there again anytime. Thank you very much for welcoming us so kindly.
Stay was excellent.
Our stay was very warm and welcoming, excellent service and value for money.
What a beautiful place with friendly and helpful service, from the reception staff all the way through to the cleaners and people working in the garden, it's so lovely. The chalet we stayed in was neat and very beautiful. One can see that everything that is done in the lodge is done with love. There is so much detail that makes the place just different. The tranquility surrounds you and the resort is neat and well looked after. In the evening the place is absolutely fairytale beautiful. We would recommend to anyone.
The tranquility of the lodge stole our hearts. We will definitely use the lodge again.
We had a lovely relaxed stay and found it very tranquil. We loved having the dogs on the farm, and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The best with friendly staff.
From our arrival we were warmly welcomed. We were literally carried on our hands the whole weekend we spent there. The breakfast is incredibly tasty and a hearty portion! The spa visit for a massage was lovely, relaxing and professional! I can only say that I will definitely visit them again!
We had a great stay and will come again.
Very nice, peaceful atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The place was clean, staff were very friendly. We felt safe there. The place is absolutely beautiful.
Very nice stay, the room we got then had a bath and shower, but there was no switch to switch the shower water to the bath. I reported it, but it was not heeded.
We had a very nice stay. The staff at Shangrila - Innibos are incredibly friendly.
Service is excellent and our room was clean and tidy. The photo showed that there was like a reed wall separating the suites from each other, but when we got there it was gone. Not a lot of privacy to hang out outside at the Garden Suites, and we couldn't sleep well both nights we stayed there because of the large number of peacocks walking around and jumping on the roofs. The suite only has a zinc roof, the peacocks made a lot of noise on the roof from early morning hours. It does not provide the peaceful and relaxing environment we expected at all. There is 0 water pressure and I would recommend updating the showers. As mentioned, the house was very clean and we were greeted kindly by the staff every time. But for the price paid, I expected to take a shower and sleep well. But it didn't happen.
Was very peaceful. They have two pools, so it was enough for everyone. Very spacious rooms. No complaints. Will definitely be returning.
Our stay was lovely. The house we stayed in was efficient and neat. The lodge grounds are beautiful and a great work in progress.
The stay was peaceful and relaxing.
I really enjoyed the birds and peacocks throughout the day! My place of residence was right next to a busy road and unpleasantly loud at night. I was received by ministers, Sussie was friendly and made me feel at home. Also had to wait quite a while at the gate after I called that I was standing in front of the gate. I never met the one Harry.
Accommodation is definitely not up to standard, for a self-catering unit the equipment is inadequate. No ventilation in unit. Poor water pressure. Flush toilet you have to flush 4 times and wait each time for it to fill with water.
Had to wash dishes before use. The braai was never cleaned. The place was only cleaned on Sunday, we have been there since Friday. The fridge froze all our food.
Had a nice stay, but did not inform in advance that the swimming pool e.g. is not broken. Not enough security and the places are a bit close to each other.
We were very disappointed upon our arrival and the place was not at all as advertised. First, there was not a picnic table as suggested in the photos. Second, the private bathroom was not clean at all and definitely needs a coat of paint. The place doesn't seem to be maintained at all. Proper maintenance and paint will definitely make a difference.
Peaceful, quiet, clean.
I am not the easiest person to please - however Shangrila exceeded all my expectations. Being a burnt-out attorney, I was looking for a place where I would regain my sanity and find my inner self again. At the same time, it had to provide some fun for my sixteen-year-old son and his friend. There is not one bit of Shangrila that I did not love. We were treated like royals by Harry and his friendly, helpful staff. I enjoyed strolling on the very spacious, well-kept premises, with dogs, cats, peacocks and ducklings surrounding me. We enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast in the beautiful lounge, which Harry, himself, prepared for us, with his personal touch. The boys, one a sports fanatic, could jog to their heart's desire and I could spoil them with a relaxing full body massage, presented by Shangrila's very own. Although winter, they took the opportunity of swimming in one of the very well-kept pools. Our chalet was comfortable and well maintained and more than once members of the staff came by to make sure everything was to our liking. Shangrila is within close proximity of amenities such as Spar, Chameleon Village, Upside Down House, Harties Cableway, Van Gaalen Cheese Factory and Little Paris. I left Shangrila with a very heavy heart; even asked Harry if they did not have a permanent little space for me there. We will definitely be back - and very soon also.
Stay was wonderful! The garden is incredibly neat and well maintained. The canopies with seating near the pool are extremely comfortable and create a peaceful atmosphere. Many thanks to the hospitality that repeatedly helped us with changes without complaining. The way you handled the obnoxious loud music was excellent and much appreciated. Excellent customer service from the first booking!
Very nice place. Recommended for a couple or group of people and very centrally located.
Although it is a few minutes from the best places in Harties, you just want to stay at the Lodge. Nice private campsites with own bathroom and kitchen. Was great!
Very nice. Own bathroom and kitchen area.
I think they can open a restaurant in the place with a small shop for essentials. Otherwise very nice place. We had been there a long time ago.
Gorgeous place! Shangrila-Innibos Country Lodge is lavish with trees and shrubbery. Cats, dogs, ducks and peacocks adorn the area, adding to the magical feel and serenity. My family and I stayed in the country house, a lovely 'plaashuisie' with modernities that provided towels, a magnificent stoep, braai and boma. The weather played in our favour and we enjoyed evenings around the braai. The peace surrounding the place is wonderful. The only problem is that the house was not as clean as I would have liked. The tablecloths have a few stains as do the chair cushions. The floor needs a proper scrubbing and the dust on the furniture must be attended to. All in all, the staff is amazing and one generally gets good vibes here.
Nice place and host was friendly. Just have a lot of trouble understanding workers because they are not locals.
Campsite - not as pictured. No lovely green grass - just dirt, space is very small and there is no wooden table with benches and no plugs for sinks. Luckily we were there in two Dome tents - a caravan would struggle to fit the space. Ablution not clean, cracked windows, broken heels. There was 1 ply of toilet paper. Outdoor shower area unsightly. There was a lot of noise in the evening from guests. Management is very friendly and invited us to report any problems. But you want to complain before things are right. The location of the place is very good - close to everything in Harties and this is the main reason why we were there.
Long weekend booked and very much looking forward to. No hot water and a leaking toilet. The next day it was repaired and the owner refunded us that day. There is not much to do except outside the camping area. This was our first caravan camp and quite disappointing. At least the owner handled it well. We were offered a full weekend or one day's money.
Very central, just a shame that there wasn't a dish sink or even a dish holder in which you could wash your dirty dishes (we didn't stay in a Chalet). They did come to wash glasses. Then you get those guests who want to share their music with everyone. I feel like management should have just asked them to consider others.
Nice stay at the place.
There were a lot of spider webs in the house. Some of the bathrooms were not clean. Two showers did not have hot water. The WiFi was also slow. All the beds need to be replaced. They were not comfortable at all. The sheets were not fresh.
We had a very bad experience there. Our first night there were drunk people right next to us who were making music and shouting so loud, they couldn't hear each other talking. We left the place back to Pta and went to sleep there. No provision for loadshedding, generator only pulls main building/office in unbearable heat, also no aircon only roof fan which makes terrible noise, we had to sit outside because of the heat, bathroom not terribly clean. Saturday night did sleep there, power went out again in the middle of the night. Sunday morning when the sun came up again the loud music and half-naked people walking around with a drink bottle in hand.
See stars.
I will definitely not stay at the accommodation in the forest again. They have a lot to learn about customer service.
Everything is neglected, no lawns to camp on. Looked like this to us in the photos.
Wonderful service, amazing and very peaceful place.
It was a very nice getaway. Will definitely go there again. Well done you guys.
Beautiful, private campsites with own bathroom and kitchen facilities.
Friendly, prompt service and makes you feel welcome. Value for money, definitely. It met our need for a getaway weekend in every way.
Clean and tidy and safe. Children rode bikes and swam all day.
Friendly reception and service.
Reception from everyone was very friendly and helpful, I was able to explore the premises and it is very beautiful, thank you.
All that is missing in the cottage is a pan and egg spatula. Then it is complete self-care.
Nice place, well located, friendly.
Exactly what is shown in the pictures. Lovely room, with double bed, small kitchen area with all the necessities. Large bath and a lovely shower. Comfortable braai area and the most beautiful wooded part with some friendly animals roaming around the premises (peacocks and chickens).
We had a great time relaxing. Swimming pools so peaceful and beautiful. It's really Innibos now.
Had noisy neighbors who kept us awake the first night. It was addressed and we slept well the second night. Had the best breakfast in a long time.
Unfortunately, the office burned down so there was no Wi-Fi but I guess in future everything will go back to normal.
But we are still waiting for our damage deposit.
We stayed in the Zanzibar chalet. Although not luxurious it has all the necessary equipment. The chalet and entire premises are very well maintained. The tent pitches look as if one could enjoy camping there too. The management and staff were always friendly and helpful.
Can think the birds give a very peaceful atmosphere, unfortunately we had neighbors who played loud music all weekend, Friday night until 2 in the morning and Saturday again starting at 10. Luckily it started raining, we feel house rules were not followed and offenders get away with it. Overall very nice place but stricter measures should be applied.
Very nice stay. The customer service was great. Will definitely stay there again.
Everything you need is right there. The place is nicely equipped and tastefully decorated. The peacocks around you give you a sense of tranquility.
It had been a nice peaceful weekend. We had a nice time.
Very affordable. Comfortable. Staff were accommodating of our needs.
The location was good, close to all the attractions.
With the additions, the breakfast was not available, which made it inconvenient.
Lovely place with good camping stands, the only let down is its too close to the road so at night the cars passing are a bit noisy. I would like to also suggest to the owners to plant grass or pave the camp stands.
Thank you for your hospitality and the effort you put in to make the accommodation as comfortable as possible. The location is perfect with many places around where you can go and do things.
The tranquility is disturbed by the traffic noise.
The bath tub was impractical to bath a two year old without the adult also bathing. Cold air was streaming through the gaps on the wall thus freezing our balls the whole night. No privacy when in the toilet. Those cupboards are so antiquated they belong in the dustbin. Where does one put luggage and clothes, really? At almost R1200 I can get a 4-star hotel in Cape Town - so, the price was way too much hence the high expectations. Although we were given the Wi-Fi password, we were unable to even pick up the Wi-Fi.
Lots of noise from other guests until 3 in the morning, room was very dark and stuffy, power points were broken as well as the toilet seat, cooking facilities unacceptable, the staff were very friendly, the photos were misleading, units very close to each other and no privacy , guests walk through people.
Kitchen on the stoep. No place to sit when raining. TV only Openview. Inside is a 2 plate stove but it is full of rust. You do not want to use it. Kitchen utensils not up to standard. There is no proper tool to use when braaing outside. We pay for 4 nights but could only handled it for 3. I will never ever go back there.
Some of our group's people immediately went looking for other accommodation.
Will definitely go again.
Good treatment and peaceful atmosphere. Would go there again anytime.
It was the perfect campsite for our group. Nice to stand close to each other and Harry and the staff's service was excellent. Thank you very, very much.
Thank you very much for the hospitality.
This was my second stay at Shangrilla and would love to stay here again.
The staff were very friendly and very helpful.
Most beautiful nature, clean, safe, peaceful, staff very helpful.
Had a great time. Very safe and very quiet and away from the busy towns, yet close enough to entertain children.
We had a very nice unit. The gardens are neatly maintained. The staff are friendly until Bella the dog looked after us. The only problem was that it rained a lot while we were there (which didn't bother us) but the braai leaked and we couldn't braai some nights. And the porch was under water. Furthermore, it was a lovely break and will definitely return. Thank you Sangrila, we'll see you again soon.
Not only is it close to most destinations, but it offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The facilities are creatively designed to suit any tourist: from tent to tasteful. The tame animals and Bella, the dog, were a treat. The resort is uniquely designed with enough privacy and security.
We were there for 2 nights, the staff is very friendly, the unit we stayed in is nice and tidy, only had a little problem with the toilet not flushing properly. There was also no pan in the kitchen to make breakfast with (happily brought my own). The bench outside was a bit uncomfortable to sit on, I would rather suggest a table seeing that it is a couple unit, and an extra ashtray inside the kitchen area and extra toilet paper. I was a little disappointed because we wanted 2 days of quiet and the peacocks were very noisy and on the 2nd night a "party" moved into the unit diagonally across from us. They made so much noise and screamed and listened to loud music, from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM. 07:00 then the terrible music starts again? We didn't complain, just tried to bear it. Furthermore, the place is perfect and well-kept, the workers and reception are friendly, nice and clean place, beautiful well-kept gardens, swimming pools, and visiting areas. The nature is breathtaking, besides the peacocks we met a friendly elderly dog, the workers said her name is Bella. There are some ducks walking along, some rabbits, and different types of birds. We also had one or two feral kittens that came to say hello The place is paradise, it's just a shame about the negative stuff, but I would definitely recommend that people visit. Thank you.
The lady was very friendly and willing to assist, including all the guards. I would recommend the place to family and friends.
Very friendly. Awaited us as we were there after clock in time due to late work. Staff super friendly clean rooms. Our key deposit was paid back in time and received honest and professional service, will definitely recommend.
Met a lot of friendly people. The hosts were very nice and if you want that bush experience I recommend this place.
Shangrila Innibos has a winning resort where everything is beautifully clean and tidy and the staff are very friendly and helpful, but I think the location is not that great. The traffic on the main road and the music from the bars can be heard until late on the weekend. But it also means the resort is close to all activities.
Our weekend was nice, more because of who we were with than the housing. Bed is poor quality and frankly already worn out. The "honeymoon" unit does not have a private pool as in the photos. Construction of the unit was so-so but the cupboard drawers are all crooked. Continuously clear that maintenance is not taking place. Units are very close together and for the money there were much better options. For just overnight it would have been acceptable, but for a weekend away and then the so-called "honeymoon" suite. Not again. Unfortunately will not support again.
Our children really enjoyed the peacocks, the brown dog, bunnies, ducks and baby kittens. The place was very neat, only one negative - the beds were very uncomfortable and did not rest through the evening.
Main road was really a problem for us and rooms are not cleaned at all. We had to clean ourselves.
Blinds don't close. Queen mattress on a double bed bosses are unacceptable. Kitchenware insufficient. Other guests made noise after 9 according to the rules.
To start off with, I never expected to pay a deposit on arrival which they said will be refunded in two to three days after checking out. Why was this not mentioned on my booking online? Up-to now, my deposit has not been refunded. Security on the doors was horrible, I have pictures that I can send you and you will feel so insecure in that room, just to say the least. We spent our first night with sewage water in the room, every time you flush the toilet, there was a blockage somewhere on the pipes and the water would leak and flow though the house to the main door. I reported this and told the patrons to assist, and they assured me it will be sorted, yet to come back to the same situation later in the afternoon. I then reported this to the office and one guy was sent to fix it. So the floor mats were smelling, and the room was never cleaned, towels not changed etc. I strongly feel I was overcharged here.
The owner is the person with the worst qualities, no human relations. One night just after 9 the power went out, when me and the person in the unit next to us investigated, we found the owner but his whole house had power but none of the visitors. I then asked him about it and he started cursing me and told me to leave his premises (he cursed me badly after which I asked him nicely not to curse me), he got so angry that his daughter should have calmed down. The unit we stayed in has no ventilation and if no power you have to open the door. But how should one sleep with an open door? I would very much like an inspector to go and examine those units because if there is a fire there is a high possibility that you could burn to death in those units. Also they advertise a spa, but there is no spa, as is the restaurant.
I paid a deposit of R1200 on our arrival with the agreement that I will receive it back in 2 to 3 days after my check-out and also I did not break anything. I only received my refund after 5 days and only after I asked. They treated us badly, their bedding smelled bad and they were expecting us to clean the rooms before our check-out. Where have you heard that the guests have to clean up after themselves before or during the stay?
Staff go to great lengths to please and accommodate holidaymakers.
The ladies in the spa are extremely friendly and very professional. Will definitely use the services again when we visit again.
I'm planning to take the family on my next trip.
Excellent for a getaway.
Nice getaway place near als.
Uncle Sarel is the owner and he is truly a good person who helped us at the weekend after the heavy rain. Awesome nice atmosphere, people are friendly and helpful. Uncle Sarel does everything in his power to make his people and campers have a good time. You guys are the best.
Wonderfully peaceful, especially if you like nature
Beautiful, safe and peaceful.
We had a very nice stay. It is very peaceful and close to most nice places. Feel safe there too. Will stay there again in the future.
Friendly service, deposit refunded very quickly. Received good service from all personnel.
I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
Good place for holiday, however the network in the rooms has poor reception.
Quiet and close to everything in Harties. Nice for kids.
We really had a great time and relaxed. It's just the cleanliness of the tents and facilities. Please. clean properly and replace the mattresses and pillows. We have all been bitten by bed bugs.
If it wasn't for the lack of communication regarding the extra services and the information on the website (dinner, breakfast, massages) our weekend would have been very nice, but unfortunately it put a damper on everything because we have to do well from the beginning trying to sort out what was already arranged 2 weeks ahead of time. Had to hear repeatedly that they need to check with the chef first if it's still OK and was called, WhatsApped and texted every now and then to ask what time we were coming in, even though the details said anytime from 2pm. My question is still why can't we pay for this at Shangrila-Innibos itself because the services are after our arrival and not before that. It's really inconvenient and the website clearly states that there are card facilities on site. Furthermore, the house was neat and beautiful, the food was in the end delicious and too much to eat, the massages were delicious and just set the peaceful trend for the rest of the weekend in place. All that was a bit bad were the children on their bikes who rode around everywhere and especially walked around our little house from time to time and looked for the bunny among other things, there was very little privacy.
The overall impression of the grounds falls far short. The grass was long and everywhere on the grounds there were piles of garden waste and plastic bottles. The impression is that it is unkempt. The restaurant no longer exists. The shower curtain I reported broken was never looked at. We were in the Stable units for two days and it was never cleaned, not even our coffee mugs were washed. Thank you but no thank you the first time but also the last time. It is not value for money.
Upon arrival, the lady / worker who accompanied us to our room had a mouthful of food and I had to wait for her to chew and swallow before greeting me, but was very friendly then. Rooms were dusty and smelled stuffy. There seems to be no maintenance done. The sink's plug was broken, water ran through even though the plug was closed and had to wash the sink first due to dustiness. The curtains hung half-mast, half the curtain was not hooked to the arrangement. At the wall plug next to the bed it was dusty and full of cobwebs. We also didn't want to turn the shower taps too much because it looked like it was going to fall off at any moment, shower curtains are also out of fashion for a long time and a big no no, everyone grins when glued to people while you shower. A wet towel was behind the bathroom door, not sure if it was from previous guests or perhaps a towel that was cleaned. The security guard at the gate was also not always on his post and we had to press the stop several times before there was a response. We were at a wedding on Saturday night and had arranged with the guard in advance that we would arrive late. We waited for a while before the gate, it was midnight and pitch dark, definitely a danger to the country we were staying in.
Warmly received by housekeepers. Very helpful, beautiful wooded area with abundant birdlife and lovely vegetation.
The unit was clean, tidy and modern. The pool was spotless and the surroundings well maintained. We took advantage of the presentation of a breakfast which was of a high standard.
Very nice and cute place! Will stay there again!
I rave about the place. If it is so beautiful in the Winter, I would really like to see it in the Summer! Great forest experience with everything you need!
Awesome for bird lovers!
We had a nice stay, it was clean and the people there are very friendly and helpful. They explained us where we could go to have a good time. We will definitely go there again!
We checked into the French stables. Beautifully furnished and spacious. Ideal place for overnight stay. The traffic on the main road was a bit of a problem during the day but during the evening it was not a problem. Very nicely maintained garden and the peacocks that show off make it special.
We had the best time at Shangrila-Innibos. The two owners were so friendly and helpful. It is quiet, neat and clean. There were cute animals such as dogs, cats, peacocks and chickens as well as bunnies with the most beautiful manners and very tame. I will definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you very much for the cute place and all your effort.
It was a good stay, the only thing that wasn't pleasing is the chicken that started crowing at about 04:00 the morning, as well as all the peacocks crowing throughout the day, and then started having play time on the tin roof from 07:00. No late sleeping there.
Room was neat and clean. Drove around during the day and only came to sleep at night. Good security.
I would appreciate if air conditioners could be installed in the stable rooms.
See stars.
The wildlife is awesome to be surrounded with. Each chalet is built for own privacy.
We really enjoyed the overnight stay. Very basic, but very friendly and more than enough for one night. We forgot coffee and hostess made a plan very quickly. House between the trees was also very nice! Will stay there again.
See stars.
Great place. Along a busy road but good place to explore the Magaliesberg from. Camping spots spacious and appropriate.
Very centrally located, neat and clean. Self catering unit has all basic necessities. However, it would be greatly appreciated if a microwave oven would also be available in the future - it would make life much easier. Two-disc dusters are a thing of the past!
Would recommend opening a tuck shop. After a long day we had to drive out again to buy soft drinks.
Nice place. Garden needs more maintenance.
Plek oukei vir kort verblyf.
The accommodation is not bad but I would like to make some recommendations (I think everything in the unit should be checked before guests arrive). 1. The bathroom door hook hangs on one screw. 2. Some of the pots' lids do not have knobs on them - just the empty screws, this makes them very difficult to handle. 3. The one plug in the kitchen (right) lets the power "trip" when you push in Stofie's plug. 4. The sliding door is loose on the right side (the whole door just pushes to the left when you try to close the door, which can be quite difficult. 5. There was only one cardboard - this could have been checked beforehand. 6. The blinds make not well closed, so in the evening, if the lights are on, any person can look in (e.g. kitchen). 7. Sunday morning was awkward for my friend. He went to the bathroom and the toilet struggled to flush. He had to flushed more than once. The effects spilled into the bath. He was obviously very horrified and embarrassed and I was then unable to use the bathroom at all. I'm not sure how it works but there was something wrong. Do the tanks and pipes checked often enough? 8. Our neighbors were incredibly noisy until after 24h on Saturday night. I don't know if the grounds are patrolled - security might have followed up? (We probably could have reported it too.) 9. Reception was friendly but half disinterested and so-so when we dropped off the key, even after we got the b called adkamer case. 10. I think that some maintenance work could be done from time to time, definitely including the honeymoon suite we stayed in (from March 1-3)! We are not newlyweds, but if I was so upset about small things that are really just easy maintenance work, I can only imagine a young bride who has to struggle with e.g. saucepans without lumps. I would not recommend the honeymoon suite! The tent option looks better now.
We enjoyed it very much, the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would go back there again anytime, the only thing they need to work on is to just clean the bathroom before the guests arrive because there were an awful lot of cobwebs which made it look untidy.
We were not happy at all. They were always complaining about noise.
The grounds where not well kept. Not a place I would visit again.
We were late due to traffic. The owners were waiting for us which helped a lot ─ check in was very quick, the people are friendly and helpful. But the other guests were very busy and played loud music until one in the morning. We also had no privacy. Everyone walked through our campsite and then we complained and put up barrier tape that helped. I was only able to go to bed the last night after 3 when the other guests stopped by and screamed. Otherwise we had a nice stay.
See stars.
Accommodation was not value for money at all. Bath facilities were extremely poor. Mattresses that children had to sleep on were super thin. Small children could not sleep on the bunk beds there were no sides to prevent them from falling off.
Too expensive for what you get. Security guard not very vigilant, he did not appear at all when we got back from our function and we had to phone the owner to open the gate.
Located on main road. Noisy
Be careful what you see on the website. It's not nearly as pretty. Place was neglected. We checked into the French Stables and checked out the next morning. The first stable's bed was broken and we were then moved to another stable whose bedding was dirty. There was no hot water that night as well as the next morning. There were other people in the stables too and no one had hot water. Went to report it the next morning to find out they never turned on the geyser and this after notifying me by phone and text of my booking and arrival. I saw that there was poor management and supervision and control and for those reasons we checked out. I have been struggling for almost 3-4 weeks to get my money back from them because it is excuses upon excuses and when they did pay back it was only a little more than my damage deposit. This after I paid the entire stay in advance. I say again, think carefully. No what, they will never see me again and in no way recommend me unless there is a drastic change regarding management etc.
Not value for money at all. Place is neglected and als is bad quality. Not a friendly welcome and you struggle to get in and out of the place, because the gate is locked all the time and you have to wait for someone to notice you to come and close it. There is a number at the gate that they say you should call, but the cell phone is off.
We are bitterly disappointed in the place we booked. We arrived here and were greeted by one of the cleaning ladies. When she took us to the room it was still dirty, but the worst was the carpet is very dirty and the headboard of the bed. Looks like it hasn't been washed in 10 years and my room at home is cleaner. So we're not going to stay here. I have a 3 month old baby and it is very unhygienic for her. The place creates a good impression on the photos you see, but when you come here it is a completely different picture. No person wants to sleep in a dirty room. There is also no parking in the shade or near the room. The braai facilities are also just a pathetic steel braai. It's not even private. It was our 2 year wedding anniversary and we wasted R1000 worth of fuel.
No way will visit again.
The unit was very dusty, there were dead spiders in the kitchen drawers, bedding smelled like dust, table cloth over the table had one big hole, TV remote didn't work. There are chickens in the yard that are already raging at 2 am and they just don't stop. It is advertised on the website that there is a restaurant, but it is not operational. The photos are not an accurate representation of what you get. Our breakage deposit was only paid back after 8 days after many calls and many excuses. It is supposed to be paid back within 2 to 3 days according to the booking confirmation. Overall a very unpleasant stay.
Friendly service, quiet place, clean and tidy. Beautiful animals and nature.
The stay was wonderful and we really enjoyed it. Thank you very much.
Had a great time there, was very peaceful. Feel close to nature! Definitely recommend it!
Will definitely stay here again with family included and make use of massage!
Just think they can pay attention to the beds, mattresses must be replaced.
The unit with sleeping space for 8 people is just not completely self-catering. Furthermore, we enjoyed the sleeping place, braai area, animals, breakfast and spa.
We were a small family of 12. Some of us stayed in rooms and some of us in chalets. We were in a caravan. Friendly welcome. Staff helpful. Site neat. Caravan pitches between trees and near swimming pool. Kitchen and bathroom conveniently close to parking. Our caravan cupboard packed up and the staff offered to take the meat, salads etc. to store in the fridge at the office. We appreciate it very much. The peacocks are beautiful. Just a pity they activate the alarm at night and then sirens go off. It also bothers you when you want to sleep. Other than that, have a good time.
The accommodation was outstanding. Very neat and clean.
We were a group of girls who broke away for the weekend. We felt safe and the place was clean and tidy. The only downside is that it is against the road so you can clearly hear the traffic (especially at night). There is also only basic cutlery (which is advertised as such). We forgot our corkscrew and unfortunately there wasn't one available. We still definitely got value for money.
It is a very neat and peaceful environment with a very central location in relation to the places to visit and attractions. We were received and welcomed in a friendly and professional manner. Although we stayed in the bush tents it was neat and clean. The bathroom and kitchen facilities contained everything needed. If possible, it may be recommended that a way can be found to provide more security in relation to the locking of the tents can be granted and perhaps a sharper light inside the tent that can be switched on when needed. However, this is just a personal opinion and may not be a problem for other people!
The weekend was lovely except that we got completely rained out. Only thing I would change at the camp is another toilet. 1 toilet for 12 people is a bit bad.
The security at the gate is very vigilant. However, our room doors could not lock. Us girls were so scared someone would break in or just open the door, we didn't get much sleep. However, the highlight of the weekend was that it had a heated pool and we could relax and have fun there. We didn't expect the bunk beds as the picture they have on the site was something different and we had an elderly woman with us who could not climb to the top bed. It was okay, we will go there again, but only for couples not as a family.
The accommodation looks better in the photos than in reality. The beds' mattresses are in poor condition and we couldn't get a proper night's rest.
See stars.
Rooms were decorated nicely, pity the rooms are right on the main busy road. ground staff are lovely and friendly. A must would be to improve coffee facility in room. Cremora and Ricoffee were, well, for lack of better wording, bad to wake up to. A little garden walk with their lovely dog and chickens made up for it though. For the price, a small, simple, clean room was provided, smiles from helpful, friendly staff and they didn't charge the security deposit as I offered to pay cash so that I could get it back the next day. Definitely think coffee and maybe a continental breakfast would make this a little more worth while. Also, I tried for 3 days to get hold of the property e-mails and calls to try to arrange a slightly earlier check in as we had a wedding at 15:00 (1 hour to check in and get dressed), no answers or reply's were ever received. Has a lot of potential and great for a quick night stay for a function.
The accommodation is very neat and clean. The garden needs attention and maybe more than one worker to keep the place clean and to guard the gate.
I would not recommend anyone dirty, no ventilation in rooms. Kitchen poorly equipped.
Many thanks to Shangrila-Innibos' management and staff for your friendly service. Your place is beautifully clean and very safe and the place is peaceful with your beautiful nature. My children really enjoyed the pool. We will definitely visit you again. The price was very affordable and we really enjoyed our time. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one and all and thank you for people like you with such beautiful places like yours.
Was received very kindly, our honeymoon suite was very neat and beautiful. Ideal getaway for a couple.
Very impressed by the place, the owners were friendly and helpful.
We had a lovely time enjoyed being in the warm swimming pool even though there was some lite rain.
Our unit was adjacent with 2 other units, the guests next door prayed at night and kept us out of sleep for a bit, will ask for a separate chalet next time.
Peaceful, clean, neat camping spaces. Location is just to close to a busy road that makes a noise at bed time, but had a great time!
Very nice. Guests just a little noisy after 2 in the morning.
It was such a great place, we enjoyed the tranquility and the privacy of the tented chalets. A fantastic choice for a large groups getting together for a weekend away.
And the tranquility of the place is the reason why we will visit Shangrila-Innibos again.
My family and I were very unhappy. Our neighbors next to the chalet made noise until late in the evening, we had to call the owner many times to ask the guards to silence the people. The pool has no water in it. The place to stay was very nice.
The room we booked (Log Cabin) was a cute room with its own braai area. The room is quite small for 2, but the bed and room decorations are nice. Attention to beauty can be improved. There are many cobwebs in the corners of the room. We booked the room with breakfast included - the breakfast was very disappointing. Guests were not given the option to choose what food they wanted to eat and the food was scooped up for you: 1 small piece of bacon, 1 fried egg, half a sausage, salad, a plate of biscuits with cream and a banana. My companion and I would have preferred if the food was laid out and we could choose what we wanted to eat. The food was very plain, tasteless and did not meet our expectations. This destination has potential but unfortunately did not live up to our expectations.
We loved every moment of our stay at Shangrila Innibos, even sharing our bathroom with big spiders. We will most definitely go there again.
Value for money.
I will go there again as soon as I can get the opportunity.
Very safe, clean and beautiful vacation spot. All the people are terribly lovely and friendly. Will definitely go there again and again.
The resort is very beautiful and peaceful. It feels like you are in another world when you are there. I would go back again for a second visit anytime.
Close to entertainment and restaurants. Very nice.
Clean location near Hartbeespoort.
Cute getaway place where we had a great time.
Firstly, I was very impressed by the organised and friendly staff on our arrival. It is very relaxing and restful and we really enjoyed it.
From the beautiful manicured gardens to the complementary sherry in our room, I knew our stay would be fantastic! The owners Sarel and Lynette bent backwards to accommodate us! We stayed in the honeymoon suite which was self-catering. Although the room was amazing, my husband and I are more excited to go back and camp with our family and friends. The stands are beautiful with clean ablution blocks.
The room was clean with everything we needed. The check-in time is 14:00, but we could check in earlier because we had a wedding at 15:00. The next morning we went for a walk. We had a very nice stay.
It is just sad that I was not showed the rest of the grounds so I only know the cabin I was in, hence I can't say more about the rest of the facility.
We had a nice stay. The children enjoyed the heated pool. We felt very welcome and safe. We will definitely visit Shangrila-Innibos again.
We had a lovely visit at Shangrila and will stay there again. The stands are excellent and owner very hospitable. The only negative is that the bathroom's roof could be sealed. It was open on one of the seams and leave etc. falls into the basin and into the bathroom. The bathroom then looks dirty and when I first arrived I thought that it hadn't been cleaned.
The ladies and I had a wonderful weekend away at Shangrila-Innibos, and we would certainly go back there again. Definitely value for money. The service was excellent and very friendly staff including the owners. They paid attention to our needs and responded quickly. The rooms were beautiful inside and very comfortable bed. Thank you for a great stay.
Would have expected a bit more for the price, but believe it's just a difference in taste. Reception and hospitality were excellent. Would have liked the following, but it's probably a matter of expectations: hair dryer, cleaning service every day, shampoo and soap.
It was a pleasant experience, well kept, clean, safe and the service was great. We booked for breakfast, which was good value for money as well.
Very peaceful at Shangrila. I really recommend it for older people because there isn't much to do. The rooms are beautifully decorated and you get to see lots of nature.
It was lovely and peaceful. I would just prefer a television in the Cozy Cabin Lodge.
We arrived late and the lady owner came to collect us somewhere on the road because we were lost and it was raining. She and her husband were friendly to us, we even booked out later after the race marathon. They allowed us to shower and prepare ourselves to drive back home.
The set-up was nice. The only thing that was not pleasant was the one bed had a bundle of red hair in it and we had to move in and out so quickly because we were attending a gala, so I didn't have time to bring it to their attention and I made a plan about it myself. The owners were very polite in waiting for us to book in, making it worthwhile. As summer comes in I'm sure the place will start to look more pleasant garden-wise.
The bath and toilet facilities weren't private. We didn't have our own key for the gate. There was a lot of traffic noise. 140 birds? We didn't see them.
Decent accommodation, however, not worth the price.
Innibos is misleading. Very disappointing as I expected silence and night noises. Not the case. The size of the sleeping place is very small. When my wife had to get dressed, I just had to sit outside and wait. Very sorry! The place is right on the main road and traffic noise was constant.
It's basic but OK, the room really needs aircon. It's like a furnace day and night.
We really enjoyed our stay at Shangrila-Innibos. However, it is not a holiday resort, but a very peaceful campsite and apart from the swimming pool there are not many other facilities. However, it was exactly what we needed and therefore we also thoroughly enjoyed it.
See the stars.
The way in which the owners talks about his workers is unacceptable. I asked for a self catering unit and what we stayed over in was something completely different. I think they just really have to describe the units better. But I would rather stay over at another place in future and also advise my friends not to stay here.
Value for money, customer service and cleanliness do not deserve a star. It was noisy until half past one in the morning and the owner's response to my complaint was of no help. The place was upgraded and did not look like a honeymoon suite at all. It was dirty and full of spiders and there were also broken things in the unit. I feel we should get our money back or at least a portion of it.
The room lacks a few essentials, such as a table, chair, microwave, and soap. Cement floor, old bed, light switches behind bed and unreachable. Large tree with branches covering the roof and enormous seeds drop unto the roof every 5 minutes throughout the day and night! Impossible to get proper sleep.
We were told breakfast would be provided to us the next morning, but in the afternoon when we arrived we were told sorry big function and they wouldn't be able to help us. The communal fridge does not close properly, the fan in the login cabin does absolutely nothing. Furthermore, the place is very neat.
