A beautiful, well-equipped home with exquisite furniture and decor. It was a pleasure to live there. The farm character with pond for fishing and the sheep contributed to a special time. Beautiful surroundings for walking and/or cycling. We would definitely recommend the stay.
I have nothing more to say, sorry.
Summer or winter - choose and come and see how much fun you have there.
We had a very nice stay - it is a very nice house and the host was available at all times. Thank you very much!
See stars.
The accommodation is beautiful, spacious, and tastefully decorated. We loved the view of the surrounding area. The huge lawn came in handy with our large family group over the Christmas weekend. We played cricket, golf, and volleyball. Only recommendation is to perhaps consider a dishwasher, as the kitchen is rather small with very little work area to prepare food. But again, we cooked and lived in the houses. If you were to eat out and visit the surrounding area, I suppose it wouldn't bother you too much. I would most definitely recommend the accommodation, and hope to one day visit again.
Very neat place. Nice and quiet on the farm. Early morning farm sounds and cooing of the pigeons. Great time by the fireplace in the kitchen.
Although we arrived late, we received a welcome call from Tarryn, who really did a great job. Then, the house: Proper 5-star rating! We felt very homely and had a very peaceful stay. Tarryn came to greet and meet us, what a nice friendly, and helpful lady! Thanks, Tarryn! We'll definitely see you guys again! That's a promise.
Would recommend to anyone looking to get away from the city as well as travelers en route to the Garden Route.
We were there for 4 nights and occupied 2 of the units as a family. It was really a very nice holiday!
We can definitely recommend Shanzeley. A good overnight place in the Langkloof.
All I can suggest, if future guests stay to attend a wedding at the wedding venue on a neighboring farm, is to make absolutely sure that the water supply is correct. My daughter started showering at 14:00, then there was no more water. By the time it was fixed she would arrive late at the wedding. She washed with cold water from the jug so she could be on time.
Had a wonderful, relaxing weekend.
We would like to stay longer next time. Only slept one night on the way to our actual destination. Taryn is very friendly and helpful. The peaceful farm atmosphere is wonderful. Cottage is well equipped with enough space and comfortable beds and furniture. The children really enjoyed the walk on the farm. The fire-making area is fantastic for a nice visit. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us.
Lovely place to stay with lots of space and equipped with everything you could possibly need - even a dishwasher! The silence and open spaces were food for the soul.
We had a very pleasant stay, the cottage is fully equipped, everything was clean, the bed very comfortable. Although advertised as a king-size bed two single beds were pushed together. Still a good bed. A sack of firewood per night and drinking water was supplied at no extra cost. Unfortunately, the traffic on the N9 could be heard while sitting outside.
Myself and my wife went here for 2 nights and it was just bliss, so quiet and beautiful, perfect to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Fantastic, warm welcome from our host. Highly recommended!
The farmhouse is very tastefully furnished and everything you need is there. We had a great time on the porch and didn't miss a television at all. It was peaceful and our batteries were recharged.
Thanks so much, we really enjoyed our time. It was quest, peaceful and very pretty. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.
Shanzeley Guest House was a real surprise and Alta made us feel very welcome as soon as we walked in. Our cottage had a nice fireplace in the kitchen and we could eat deliciously at the kitchen table and drink wine. The braai was also conveniently mobile and we could walk around and visit the little pond with its osprey and finches while we waited for the coals to heat up.
Excellent choice for a chance to relax on a farm. Very warm welcoming and good chats. Excellent facilities. Would definitely recommend. If possible I would love to go there again for a longer period.
Our hostess, Alta, received us kindly and throughout our stay she was available for any questions or requests. We really enjoyed the small one bedroom chalet as we found everything we needed. Electricity, with a gas stove and gas geyser. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was big enough for 2 people together. The unit has been renovated and furnished with care and we enjoyed it very much. The view outside really made us relax and we had a great barbecue and listened to the sounds of the farm. It's a sheep farm and the sheep and farm workers were in no way a hindrance. I will definitely want to visit this place again.
Friendly host that went out of her way to help us. Excellent accommodation in an amazing location.
