There are 5 rooms - 3 doubles, 1 twin and 1 family room. All have individually controlled air-conditioners, TV, and usual amenities. The family room has a queen-size bed and 2 singles. The family room is next to the swimming pool which is unfenced and not suitable for small children.
Port Alfred is situated halfway between Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and East London. Both cities have airports that are serviced by all domestic airlines. Port Alfred and Sheilan House are therefore ideally suited for both business and leisure travelers. Local amenities include golf, fishing, water sports, horse riding, adventure sports or just lazing around on our endless stretches of pristine beach.

Our room was always clean and comfortable. Much was provided for and the caretakers were always considerate, respectful and reasonable. They also know the area well and can provide you with very reliable information on both activities and places to enjoy in Port Alfred. I would definitely recommend Sheilan House to anyone looking for a place to stay at during their visit to Port Alfred. Prices are very reasonable, rooms have very good quality, food is great and caretakers are always there to help in case you need anything.
Rooms are nice and spacious and well appointed. Very glad there was air conditioning in the room. Lovely pool and breakfast was good. You will have to drive if you want to get to shops, but it is still an easy town to move into. Our host was very helpful and the place is well maintained. Lovely beach to walk long distances and on the banks of the river were also good restaurants.

The breakfast was great, the hosts and the staff super friendly. The rooms are very clean and nice. It was a really great we spend here, especially in the garden with the pool.
We stayed for a week and it was wonderful! Beautiful rooms and Joan and Mike were very friendly! Close to the beach and walking distance to some of the restaurants. Definitely stay at Sheilan House again when in Port Alfred!
We were very impressed with the hospitality and cleanliness.
Drove with a trailer and didn't mention it. Luckily there was room for him. Might have to be one of the questions when discussing. Accommodation was very nice and tidy. Enjoyed our evening there!

An outstanding 2 night, 3 day stay. Our hosts, Joan and Mike could not have been more warmer or more welcoming. The room and bathroom en-suite was beautifully spacious and comfortable with all possible amenities on hand. Breakfasts and a dinner catered for all needs in a friendly and inviting atmosphere. Will definitely stay again next year!
Everything went smoothly, from the booking until we left to go to Sheilan House. The hospitality exceeded my expectation. It is indeed home away from home!
We enjoyed our stay. We liked the spacious room and bathroom. We are used to a soft bed - so the firmer bed took some getting used to.
Sheilan House is the only place I want to stay at when in Port Alfred. They offer great hospitality.
Mike and Joan were friendly and welcoming but not at all intrusive. Lovely big bright room and bathroom with great shower, clean and tidy. Pretty flexible and accomodating with breakfast, which was very tasty. No DSTV though, which was dissapointing for the price.
