6 guests' feedbackWe requested that our accommodation be moved to the main camp in order to be close to the restaurant and were very pleasantly surprised with the chalet, the beautiful restaurant and the quality and manner in which our meals were prepared and served.
It was nice, except for a few things that were not up to standard. Drains were clogged, single beds uncomfortable for adults. Workers very noisy early in the morning.
Excellent stay. Staff are brilliant.
It's a very beautiful place in the heart of the forest. Their kitchen and cleaning staff along with their students are excellent. The sadness comes in that, among other things, they say there is a Jacuzzi but it is not said that it is only part of the spa. Staff arrangements do not match. And the general stuff comes across as too much effort. If you stay in the tents then you have no fridge and no braai area, so even if you wanted to cook yourself it is not an option because it is not indicated for you either. It feels from the office people's side that if you don't spend big every day, you are not much to them. And everything is constantly postponed due to game hunting etc. Very nice place, friendly students, cleaning and kitchen staff. But for the money one spends one expects the same effort from the other staff as well. Won't be coming back again. The office people's organization is also pathetic. You can't choose your house, it's just given. And if you know that things like a game hunt or move must happen, then don't let people come here for a holiday and don't offer things like a game drive and move all the time. Problems at your cottage are reported and they are not repaired, nor is there a follow-up to find out if everything is OK. And to get in and out you have to call the office. But there is hardly ever his at the gate. There are gate bells, but they don't work.
We were very excited about our getaway close to our home yet far away in nature. We have been looking for a long time for a place where we can go on a game drive where there are elephants etc. Upon our arrival, we were informed that they were 'short staffed' and would not be able to help us with a game drive, nor is the lodge open for self-drive drives. Very disappointed, precisely because it was the primary influence on our choice to book with Shelanti. The evening with dinner, there was not the right amount of cutlery, as well as no water. The water problem was quickly sorted out by the person on assistance. We fully understand that the pandemic makes things difficult, but then guests must be notified in advance.
We as a group of friends (with motorcycles) tour a lot, and were pleasantly surprised with Shelanti. For sure one of the best places we have ever stayed. The accommodation was excellent, neat, beautiful, but not exaggerated so that you feel uncomfortable. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The farm is very beautiful and there is plenty of game, and we thoroughly enjoyed the drive to the hunting lodge and back. There was absolutely no reason to complain at all! Thank you very much!
